Third person

It had been two years since those events took place. Scott and Vincent still lived in the cabin with Elizabeth visiting often, but they also had someone new.

The few days in the cabin that Vincent and Scott spent alone resulted in something more than just a closer bond. Now they had a son, Isaac, who was around the age of two.

The child took after Vincent, having a purple tail like his and a light tint of purple to his skin, while his hair and eyes were brown like Scott's. He was quite the cute child.

Vincent had gone out hunting while his family remained at home. Scott had just put Isaac down for his nap, but the small Naga never wanted to sleep.

"Mommy, tell me a ssstory!" He begged, bouncing around on the bed.

The brunette sat down next to his energetic child and pulled him onto his lap. The child was eager for a new story that he had never heard and waited patiently.

"Once upon a time-" Scott began before being cut off.

"Not that one! Tell me a new one! One your mommy told you!"

The brunette thought for a moment. All the stories he'd been told as a child by his mother he had already passed down to his own, except for one. He didn't want to tell his own child this because frankly, the whole story was a lie, but it was the only story Scott had to work with, so he was going to use it.

"When I was your age, my mother told me wonderful stories... She told me of crazy adventures and wild animals in exotic places... But there was one story I'd never forget...
'Never go in the forest.
There's monsters in there.
No one ever comes back.
You'll die in there.
The snake creatures will get you.'
The story always crossed my mind when I walked passed the forest, but when I met your father I realized that the story was a lie. People in the town were scared of what they had never seen or heard of. They were scared of what they didn't know.
The forest is a mysteriously beautiful place. It hides what the town is afraid of in a safe place of nature. The story wasn't true. There are no "snake people", only Nagas. There are no monsters and people do come back. The story was made to explain what people could not.
My dear Isaac, I pass this version of the story onto you now.
Into the forest,
where beauty lay,
there are no creatures,
to be afraid.
There are friends,
there might be foes,
but all eventually will come to ends.
The forest is your home,
It keeps you safe.
We won't let anyone hurt you.
We promise that on your plate.
The forest is safe for all who desires,
whether Naga or human or their adorable child."

Isaac had fallen asleep almost instantly after Scott finished his story. He smiled at his child as he dozed off to sleep himself, remembering the day he met his true love in the very same forest.
