Now Natsu had never been the lovey dovey type. Romance never seemed to be an importance to him. But then again he barley understood the word.

Yet every time he had the choice or chance to stand by his best friend Lucy Heartfilia, he did. Every time she called his name, despite the reason he loved it.

Her intelligence, her heart full of kindness, her immense beauty. Truly perfect. Even when she 'Lucy Kicked' him he still smiled at her shy and weird attitude. Heck, even her weirdness drew him closer.

"Yo! Flamebrain! What's with that stupid face!" Yelled out the Gray.

"It's my face! Wanna make something of it!?" The salamon hair colored dragon slayer got off the bar stool and began walking towards the ice mage.

"Yeah you idiotic Ash for brains, wanna go?!"

"Yeah!" Gray threw the first punch which Natsu successfully dodged.

"There they go at it again," Mirajane giggled, Levy and Cana nodding, Cana going back to her barrel of booze. "Too bad Erza isn't here..." Mira sighed.

"Yeah, the only person who can stop them is Erza or..." the three FairyTail mages looked at each other smirking.

"Luuuccccyyyy...." The three said, Natsu attention immediately turned towards the girls who pretend to whisper about the blond celestial mage.

Walking over to them, avoiding an attack from Gray who hit the wall. With Juvia quickly by his side. Crying out 'Gray-sama!!'

"What about Lucy?" Natsu asked. Mira smirked at Levy. "Huh? What happened?"

"Well, Natsu... Did you know that Lucy right now, is at the town Library most likely being flirted too." Levy said, intentionally trying to get the Dragon Slayers attention.

"What about it?"

"What she means is, that if Lucy gets a boyfriend she won't be able to hang out with you as much, AND she might marry the guy! Which would mean-"

"No NALU BABIES!?" Mirajane cried.

Natsu took a step back.

"Y-Yeah," Cana looked at Mira. "Anyways..." Cana shook her head then turned to Natsu "You wouldn't be allowed to fantasies about her anymore..." Cana began to chug down finishing her barrel, quickly picking up another one.

"Wait... I'm having trouble understanding...." Natsu scratched the back of his neck. Trying to make sense of what the three were suggesting.

"Jeez why do you have to be so dense," Levy Facepalm with an obviously annoyed aura surrounding her, "Let's see... Oh!"Levy snapped her fingers smirking, "ask Lucy, next time you see her, 'what does ILY mean,'" Levy stared at the dumbfounded Dragon Slayer. "It's a secret word." Levy clarified.

The doors open up to reveal Lucy peering through the slightly opened crack. Her eye's seemed to land on Natsu. Before her face went red.

Smirking. Levy looked at Cana then Mirajane.

"LLLUUUCCCYYYYY!"

Natsu's attention instantly turned to the celestial mage who panicked slamming the guild doors shut, taking off.

"Eh-!"

"Natsu!" Natsu turned to Mira who just had a a determined look, "go after Lucy!" Levy and Cana nodded in agreement.

"R-Right..." Natsu said, still confused from before. Taking off running.

"Do you think that idiot will ever get it?" Cana looked over at Levy and Mira who just stared at each other, "bet you 10k Lucy confesses..."

"10k Natsu confesses," Levy shot back.

"100k they make babies!" Mira bet happily.

"Mira...!"

Lucy ran down the street, why was she running? Even that part confused her, it's just that recently she's felt weird, and tingly near Natsu, she knew she was in love... But her emotional love for him would be too obvious if she wasn't careful.

"Oi! Lucy!" Turning her head still running Lucy inhales sharply watching Natsu catching up. "Would you-!"

"Why are you following me?!" Called out Lucy continuously running.

"Why are you running away! I just wanna talk!!!" Natsu call back to the celestial mage.

Instantly the blond stopped, only to be tackled by the Dragon Slayer, "oh hi Luce," Natsu said casual-like, caging Lucy under him, his hands at the side of her head.

"W-What do you w-w-want...?" Lucy stuttered, her face was flushed in red, and she turned away.

"You seem upset," Natsu picked himself up, extending his hand for her, she who took Natsu pulled her into his strong chest. "And that you have a fever-" Natsu leaned down, pressing his forehead onto hers. "-Are you okay?" He asked.

"Y-Y-Y-Y-Yes..." The Celestial Mage stuttered.

"Oh alright... Hey, Luce?"

"Hmm?" She hummed in response

"What does ILY mean?" Natsu asked, he genuinely didn't know what it meant, Levy had gotten him curious.

"I love you," Lucy answered.

There was a silence between the two, Lucy's face instantly turned bright red. "I-I-I... You... Well...erm..."

"I love you too," Natsu smiled.

"R-Really!?" Lucy asked astonished.

"Yeah!" Natsu smiled. "You're my best friend," He continued to grin, Lucy's joy, seemed to sink. "Oi, y-you okay...?" Natsu asked.

"I'm fine," Lucy tighten her fist, "Whatever, I don't know what I expected from you," Lucy felt tears well up in her eyes, she knew Natsu was an dense idiot, but she thought he at least knew what it was to love one person, in specific.

"W-Wait L-Luce!" Natsu watched as Lucy took off running, towards the direction of her apartment. "What...?"

Slowly, Natsu walked back to the guild his heart ached, his throat felt dry, something about Lucy not being with him, or she most likely being mad at him, it made him worry.

At least, that's what he thought such an emotion was.

"Hey Natsu," Natsu looked down to see Happy by his side, knawing on a fish. "Something wrong?" The blue cat asked.

"I... Don't know..."

"There's a lot of stuff you don't know, let it go..." Happy waved his wrist at Natsu.

"Pft." Natsu looked away. "I'm not stupid."

"No Natsu," Natsu looked down at Happy, who's face wasn't his usual face, it was... Eh, Lucy. "You're just very dense," Lucy-Happy said to him.

"Lucy...?"

"Umm... I'm Happy," Natsu squeezed his eyes shut. "Natsu?" Opening up his eyes, everything was back to normal.

"You okay?" Happy asked.

"I'm okay..." Natsu assured. Looking around. "I gotta..."

"NATSU!" Everyone in the guild turned to the guild doors, Loke, there. "You're a stupid, dense idiot." Loke stomped over to him, "I knew you were an idiot but really!?" Throwing a punch hitting Natsu square on the face.

Everyone gasped loudly. Natsu felt his fist clench.

"What the hell!?" Natsu threw a punch hitting Loke back. "What the hell's your problem?!" Natsu yelled.

"You, you ass!" Loke, "Lucy-" The mere mention of Lucy made Natsu loose his strength he went limp. Loke taking advantage kicking him. Natsu fell into the ground, clutching his stomach; where Loke had kicked him.

"-Lucy made it so obvious, for so long... You idiot! She's madly in love with you-" when Loke said that everyone gasped out. Natsu's eyes widen. His hands where shaking, he could feel his heart tear apart.

She's IN love with me...!?!

Getting up, Natsu rocked back slightly meeting Loke's hateful gaze. "-And here you are, you stupid dumbass!"

"Loke stop!" Everyone turned to Lucy, who was panting out of breath, her hands were clenched onto the guild doors. "Don't hurt him," Lucy cried. She ran over to where Natsu stood unstable. "Natsu, are you-"

Before she could finish, Natsu placed a rough, passionate kiss onto Lucys lips, everything went silent.

Lucys eyes were wide open, her heart beat fast, and she could feel Natsu's as he pressed himself against her. His hands were upon her neck, deepening the kiss, Lucys eyes soon closed as she melted into the kiss, the tension in the room was soon gotten rid of, when everyone in the guild started to clap.

Natsu pulled back, his hands took hers, pulling them onto his chest. "Natsu..." Lucy whispered. The guild went quiet.

"Lucy, I thought you said you loved me, as in I love how you are, or something... But you're IN love with me?"

Lucy looked down, her face flushed as she nodded.

Smiling, Natsu pulled her into another kiss. "I love you more than a friend," He said to her. Lucy smiled. "Lucy, please be mine, forever mine." Lucy giggled slightly.

"Yeah," she whispered.

"ILY," Natsu laughed.

"ILY too," Lucy said back.
