"Y/N you going to Owen and Kent's party?" Luke asked you as you walked out of class

"Wouldn't miss it" You tell him

He throws an arm around your shoulders. "Do you need a ride there? My DD says there's still room in the car"

You shake your head "No I'm going with the girls, but thank you" You say as you feel your cheeks heat up

"Alright, then I'll see you tonight" Luke says kissing your head and walking in the opposite direction

"You have it baaaad girl" Grace, your best friend and roommate, says as Luke walks away and as she walks up to you.

"Shut up" You say as you walk back to your dorm with her

"Why can't you just tell him how you feel?" Grace asks

"I've told you before and I'll say it again. He's not into me and will never be. We've been friends for forever and I don't want to ruin anything we have. I've accepted the fact that I'll be in the friend zone for the rest of my life" You tell her

"Everyone seems to see that he's into you except for you" Grace says

"Because he isn't" You protest

You get back to your dorm room. Your first instinct was to lay down and relax before getting ready. Grace on the other hand started getting ready as soon as she walked in.

"Does my hair look good?" Grace asked you as she walked into your room

"Grace the party starts at ten. It's four" You tell her

"And what's your point?" She asks

"Since when do you care what you look like? Wait, are you trying to impress someone?"

"I've always cared and no" Grace lies as her face glows red

"Grace you literally go to class in a baggy hoodie and sweats and don't even brush you hair. Who are you trying to show off too?" You suspect

"Okay fine I may have a thing for one of Luke's teammates but that doesn't mean anything. Tonight is about you telling Luke how you feel"

You give Grace a 'what the fuck' look. "Um no, it's not" You say

Grace rolls her eyes "Does my hair look good or not?" She asks again

"Are you going to tell me who you like or not" You mock her, with a smirk

"Ugh fine it's Brisson" She admits

"Ouuu" You said as you wiggle your eyebrows at her "Oh and your hair looks great" You add

Grace goes back to getting ready. Hours later you join her in getting ready and then head out to the party.

You walk into the party with Grace and a couple other friends. You're met with a bunch of bodies and no space to move. You and Grace squeeze through the crowd and make your way to somewhere breathable.

"Look there's Luke, and he's with Brendan" Grace says as she starts to blush

She drags you over to the boys. Luke greets you with a tight hug. Drink in hand, he hands you a cup.

"Been protecting that with my life until you got here. I know it's your favourite and it probably wasn't going to last" Luke tells you

You thank him and move your attention to Brendan and Grace, who seem to be getting along.

Moments later Grace drags you over to dance but then lose her in the crowd of sweaty bodies. You manoeuvre your way through to take a breather. You had lost everyone you came with and Luke was nowhere to be found.

Suddenly Grace pops up out of nowhere. "Hey girl. You know I am repping a huge headache right now and think we should head out" Grace tells you

You look at her funny "Since when does Grace want to leave a party early. Especially when the boy she likes is here" You say almost laughing "How is Brendan anyways, have either of you made a move yet?" You add

"Ugh yeah, yeah he's an amazing kisser. Can we get going?" Grace says, acting weird as her eyes keep darting behind you

"Why do you keep looking behind me? Is Brendan doing something cute?" You say as you start to turn around

"Y/N - No don't- turn. around." Grace says disappointed that she failed

It was too late. You could see Luke and some bunny making out in the corner of the room.

You felt you heart drop into your stomach and smash into a million pieces.

"Y/N I'm so sorry" Grace said as she was about to take your arm.

Before she could get a hold of you. You booked it for the door having to pass Luke and the girl.

"Y/N" You heard Luke yell from behind you

You had just ran about a block when you stopped and started crying.

"Woah, Y/N? What's wrong?" Luke said running up to you before you fell to the ground

"I'll never be good enough" You cried as you pushed Luke away

"What are you talking about? Did someone do something to you because I swear to g-"

"Seeing that girl all over you tonight was probably the hardest thing I had to watch. What was I even thinking? You're my best friend and I let myself fall for you. I'm such an idiot" You say with your head in your hands

Luke freezes he's crouched down in front of you, shock taking over his body. He licks his lips before he speaks. "You're not an idiot Y/N. I am. I let these girls come on to me so that I don't have to think about you. You're literally part of my every thought. I can't go a minute without thinking about you. I didn't want to ruin anything between us as to why I never said anything. I thought you had a thing for someone else." Luke confesses

You lift your head and look at him. His face full of guilt. "We've been friends since first grade and tell each other everything. And this is what we decide to hide from each other?" You question

"Stupid on both our ends, huh?"

You nod. Luke sticks his hand out for you to grab. You take it and he pulls you up on your feet. Not letting go of your hand he pulls you towards him for a hug. You two stand there hugging for a bit until he slowly pulls away. You look into his eye and he looks into yours. You give him a little smile and it sends him. He quickly leans down giving you no warning and plants his lips in yours.

You hesitate at first, not realizing what was going on. But then you sink into the kiss. You grip his curls at the back of his head. Bringing him closer to you. You never had something feel so right in your life before.

"Holy fuck" Luke breathed out "That was so much better than I imagined it"

You let out a laugh and place a hand on his chest. "So what now?" You ask him

"What now as in what are we going to do for the rest of the night. Or as in what are we?" Luke asks

"Both"

"Well we can go to my place and just hangout there. It's walking distance from here. And us well, I'd like to take you on a date. A real one though, not the kind where I get you to wear my jersey at a game. Which I'm sure Brisson will do with Grace." Luke says with a laugh

"She doesn't care as long as she gets to see him afterwords" You tell him.

"So my place?" Luke asks

You nod and say "Sure"

Luke grabs your hand and walks with you. You and Luke hangout in his room watch movies just like old times. Only this time you were wrapped in his arms while doing it.
