Hey guys, I'm writing a new story on webnovel called Re:The Worst System If I Level My Zombie Will Destroy The World. It's similar to re:zero but the main character has to become a zombie who hunts down his own teammates whenever he dies. Aka he's stuck watching his zombie self do terrible things until someone kills him so he can respawn. You can check it out if you want, it's an RPG system type of novel. If it gets enough attention I might do it as a contracted book with webnovel.

When the 1st Elite Hell Squadron arrived under the command of Xiao Gui, the first thing the assembled geniuses noticed was the smell. The battlefield surrounding the Dael City Hellhole had a charred and smoky stench clinging to every part of it. No matter whether one breathed through their nose or mouth, it was impossible to avoid, you'd just end up tasting the scent of burnt flesh. All across the battlefield, there were skeletonized bodies and this ever present red smog the color of rusted iron. Sometimes when the wind blew, one could see past the fog and some of the devastation would be shown.

"By the Hells..." Quen's face registered discomfort despite the fact that as an elite genius of the Hells he definitely was no stranger to slaughter. However, this place was different. "The fighting here is insane!"

"So it is." Xiao Gui sighed as she surveyed the piles of rent armor and bloody bodies. They were endless and of all kinds. Most were various species of the Hells. Many of them were the Cursed, mad demons which had gone insane sealed underneath the Pillars. Whenever a Pillar fell and the Hellhole underneath opened, the Cursed would stream out in a rabid horde by the thousands. Despite their insanity and weakness from being sealed for so long, they were many and capable of overrunning cultivators through sheer numbers. Besides which, given long enough, some of the darker and more twisted Cursed would surely appear from the depths of a Hellhole. As such, both Humanity and the Hells sought to close Hellholes as soon as they opened nowadays. Throughout the area one could see the corpses of human squadrons mixed in with the demons. However...

"Look at these!" One of the geniuses bent down by a group of fallen cultivators. Kneeling beside them, he knocked aside a helmet only to recoil in horror. "Their flesh has been cleaned from the bones. Nothing left! It's like someone sucked them dry." At his words, Xiao Gui immediately rushed over with the other dozen youths. She frowned as she saw the pile of white bones which was all that remained of one cultivator. It was like something had swept through the warriors here and devoured them where they stood. A trail of gleaming desiccated bones led off into the distance. "Have you ever seen anything like this?"

"Mmm..." Xiao Gui didn't respond. Inside however, she was thinking that she had seen something like this before. In fact, the trail of devastation was very much similar to that of a lich. However, her brother was still under punishment from her father due to his improper conduct during the Deep Loss Cliff incident. There was no way it was him, and Xiao Gui wasn't aware of any other liches currently active. Besides, even the strongest lich would struggle to create a complete trail of bodies like this. It was so large that it stood out even in this vast battlefield of the dead!

"What do you think?" Quen asked when he saw Xiao Gui standing quietly, staring out over the dead bodies. "You know something, don't you?"

"I'm not sure." Xiao Gui shook her head, before straightening. "Let's keep moving, we need more information. But be careful, the reports of the dead here are even more exaggerated than our intel suggested. Look around, everyone's dead! I don't even see any Cursed around. What in the Hells is happening...?" She waved on the others to keep going and kept a wary eye for enemies. As the demons advanced, they made sure to watch the sky. Nowadays, it was entirely possible for the Angelic race to suddenly appear and launch an attack out of nowhere. Many demons and humans had fallen to their surprise raids. Gradually, the battlefield began to slope upwards. Like the Hellhole Dahn had once closed, this one had also formed a sort of pseudo-volcano once the Pillar had been broken. The assembled geniuses walked upwards, encountering a terrible pressure which pressed down on them and resisted attempts to fly using Qi. It seems that the broken fragments of the Pillar had left behind their restriction, turning the entire area into a no-fly zone. As such, the 1st Hell Squad had no choice but to proceed on foot.

When they began to climb the volcano, they set their sights on the caldera at the top. Though it was uncomfortably warm and sticky in this battlefield, and random areas were still lit with flames due to the bloody battles fought not long ago, the denizens of the Hells were well used to heat and not afraid. As they continued to ascend to the summit, the piles of bodies became less numerous, but more powerful. Instead of imps and lesser demons, one would see helldogs and other stronger species. Regardless of what they encountered however, without exception, all were dead. Suddenly, Xiao Gui held out a hand. Though she was the adopted daughter of the Three Step King and thus not a demon, she still did a very demon-like thing at that moment. Raising her dainty nose to the air, she sniffed deeply. Then she looked down at the skeleton. One could tell from the skull that it was a human, like her. And clutched in its hands was something strange. A metal sword, but not made of iron or steel or any earthly metal.

"Angels!" Xiao Gui cried as she saw on the corroded metal the unique signature of the Heaven's worksmanship. Instantly, the demons began to ready themselves for battle. However, in that moment, black shapes began to rain down everywhere. Raising barriers of Qi, everyone immediately began to defend themselves from the swarms of arrows being shot at them. Gazing up into the barrage, Xiao Gui narrowed her eyes as magic circles burst out of the arrows which hit her squadmates. Instantly, loud explosions rang out.

"Careful! These arrows aren't normal!"
