So hey peeps, haven't seen you in quite a while, huh? Well now I'm back to write my secret Santa for the lovely master_of_sun. The event was organised by MasterofCupcakes, so I hope we do it every year!

Anyways, she requested for a showverse Pixane moment of them fixing one or the other. I decided to set it after the events of season 11. It has a tad bit of angst, but I promise you no one will die here!😉

Enjoy!

Third POV

A month had passed ever since the Ninja escaped from the Never Realm. Things had changed for the better, the city felt safer and they could finally relax.

They always knew that another challenge would come their way, but not one like this; where their own friend became the enemy. But they were all over it by now, after finally gaining him back.

Zane himself, well, he was still unsure of what happened. Even after searching his memory files, he couldn't find anything about his time as the Ice Emperor. It was as if his mind had been frozen along with his heart.

But he didn't really mind. He didn't want to remember the awful things he might have done.

Everyone was training right now. They knew that after that, being lazy would have its risks.

Cole and Kai were sparring, Jay and Nya were taking aim at the dummies, and Lloyd was probably meditating with Sensei Wu in his room. But here was one person missing. Pixal.

Zane left the training area, not bothering to say goodbye to the others. He looked inside every room of the new Monastery, even his own. But he couldn't find her. The very last room, the small one that belonged to her, ended up being the one she had ducked in.

She was sitting on her bed, looking at something Zane couldn't recognize. He turned the lights on, seeing the frown she was wearing.

"Are you feeling okay?" He said, kneeling down to her level.

"Oh, I'm feeling okay. I'm just a little tired," she said, hugging tightly what she was holding.

Zane raised an eyebrow, peeking at the thing before she could hide it. It was a picture, one he recognized.

He sighed, smiling. He left the room, and went to the living room. He opened the entrance to the Samurai Cave, patting his foot impatiently as he rode the elevator.

The door opened, and he quickly rushed to get the small toolbox from the corner of the room, right next to the Samurai mech. Pixal was still working on it, mostly upgrading it for future threats. But she wouldn't mind if he borrowed it for now.

He literally ran to return to her, and frankly, she was sitting in the same spot, looking at the same picture. The picture of the two of them she always kept on the night table.

She looked at him, but didn't bother to hide it this time. Zane showed her the toolbox, smiling.

"I am still feeling rusty after all those years. Would you mind?" He set it beside her, sitting on the bed as well.

"You ought to ask Jay and Nya. They'll know how to handle you better," she looked down, pushing the toolbox away.

He pushed it back to her, grinning. "I think Jay and Nya are occupied right now. Besides, you understand my system better than they do," he said. She chuckled, narrowing her eyes as she opened it, taking out a wrench.

Zane rolled up his sleeve, literally opening his wrist. "I think my funny switch is broken. I think it's just some extra bolts that need replacement."

Pixel raised a brow. "Your... funny switch?"

His cheeks flushed red, cupping his hands together. "It helps me be.. funny."

She nodded, grabbing his arm as she started to take more bolts out of the toolbox. "I see.. So it is your source of dopamine?"

"Something like that."

A few minutes passed. Silence. Pixal would take out a bolt, replace it, then screw it in with the wrench. She followed that pattern, not even bothering to look at Zane, who, unlike her, couldn't take his eyes off of her.

She looked so sad, even if she couldn't really cry tears. Like she said before, she seemed more tired. If her skin was real she'd probably have black circles underneath.

"It must've been hard, right? Protecting the city all on your own while we were gone?"

She nodded, not saying a word.

"You should take a break. You've done enough for us."

"No, no it's fine. I only need to charge," she raised her hands in defense before closing off Zane's wrist.

Silence again.

"Did you really mean it?" She asked out of the blue.

"Mean what?"

"The things you said in that video recording. Lloyd showed me," she frowned, but seemed a little too embarrassed to even look at him.

Zane smiled again. "All of it," he said. "Those past few years were... tough to say the least."

"Please stop it," she said. Before Zane could respond she cut him off. "Stop sacrificing yourself for us, Zane. Let us protect you."

He was speechless. She bit her lip, taking a deep breath before continuing. "I thought I truly lost you in the battle with the Overlord. Our friends, they were so torn apart, they split up. And I was the one who prompted that with the 'perfect match', then I attacked you, I-"

She cleared her throat. "When I found you again, I made a promise to myself. No harm, under any circumstance, would come to you. But then you were trapped in the First Realm, the Dragon Realm! And when you got back I thought it was going to be the last time until... this happened."

He pulled her into a hug, frowning. "I was made to protect those who cannot protect themselves. We both know I can't lose you either," he said.

Pixal looked down, blushing a little. "Let's agree to protect each other, okay?"

"Okay," he smiled, pecking her cheek.
"I also have a surprise for you, if you don't mind," he smiled shyly, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh, I don't see why not..." She closed her eyes, turning around.

Zane quickly pulled something out of his pocket, opening the toolbox for a second time.

He lifted up her usually tight bun to see the back of her neck, opening it. He searched through the tangled wires, taking a screwdriver out of the toolbox. He put the small chip in the back of her neck, connected it to a few wires, and then started tightening it with the screwdriver.

He couldn't help but smile whenever his girlfriend giggled, much more than he did, at least. Who would have guessed that literally opening someone's neck would tickle.

He closed it, Pixal turning around to see what had changed.

"I-I don't quite understand," she tilted her head in confusion, but Zane didn't respond. He simply held back laughter.

He got up and turned off the lights. It would seem like the room would've been dark like before, but she could almost perfectly see.

Zane giggled, taking the small mirror from her dresser and putting it in front of her face. Pixal burst into laughter seeing her glowing head.

"I've always wondered why your model didn't have that feature. I guess it was a signature of my father's."

"I love it," she said between laughs, turning her head left and right to look at it like a little kid. "But that won't make up for the fact that I assumed you dead three times," she folded her arms.

"I know," he sighed.

"Just promise me to be more careful from now on," she said, ruffling his hair.

"Will do."

They looked into each other's eyes. Even though your heads glowing in a dark room isn't the most romantic thing of all, they couldn't stop looking at each other.

They smiled, their faces getting closer and closer until-

"You were here this entire time?! We'd been looking for you everywhere! Come on, we're doing a couple-battle and we need you two! You can't leave me and Nya hanging like that!" Jay pouted, turning on the lights after he practically burst into the room.

Seeing the two's glares (well, mostly Pixal's), he ducked out, but still yelled for them to come.

They both sighed, holding each other's hands. "I guess we'll have to finish this later," Zane chuckled.

Pixal nodded. "I guess we will. Now, we should go and give them a taste of our strategy," she smirked, dragging him out of the room.

"I couldn't have said it better."

Sooo with everyone and their A+ Christmas stories, enjoy this mediocre one! I hope you liked it, especially the person receiving the gift!

This idea is so good, it really does fit with our community!

C ya peeps!
