Heyyy, Happy Halloween/Day of the Departed! It's actually the 31st today, so yay!

By the way, you know I love my fluffy kid Jaya 😉.

Let's continue with this, shall we?

(Also yes, DotD in this universe falls on a Friday too this year XD)

Third POV

Jay's POV

"Want to go to my house to count the candy? Ma made pumpkin pie~!" I told Cole, giving him a nudge of the shoulder. He couldn't resist any sort of cake or pie my ma made and we both knew it. Plus, I wanted to convince him to stay the night.

Since it was a Friday, that meant we had three days with no school. Well, we did go to school, we just didn't do a lesson. Dr. Julien was nice enough to let us have a party in the classroom.

"Fine..." Cole sighed in defeat. Oh right. "Will it have whipped cream on it too?" He asked out of curiosity, to which I responded with a laugh and a nod.

Passing through the houses, we didn't bother to knock on their door, although they did give us weird looks at times. It's fine though, we were getting closer and closer to the Monastery!

We kept walking and walking, but luckily we didn't have to do any sudden stops (well, except that one time we had to go, but that's another story), and we soon arrived in the surrounding area. We could already see the hill where the Monastery stood.

And we were finally there. The Monastery. Well, kind off.

"So, how long do you think it'll take us to get there?" Coke asked out of the blue.

I shrugged my shoulders. "Probably a few minutes. I mean, how bad can the legends be, really?"

Coke raised a brow. "Well, the legend doesn't only say about the stairs. According to it, the old man living there is a ghost."

Okay, that was creepier than expected. I couldn't help but get chills down my spine. But I mean, ghosts don't exist, right? "L-let's just go..." I said, cursing myself for stuttering.

"Is someone scared~?" Cole teased me.

"What! Of course I'm not scared!" I exclaimed, walking up the stairs even faster, even skipping a few steps.

"Oh, come on, wait up!"

Nya's POV

"Boo!" I shouted behind Kai, tightly grabbing his shoulders.

"This is the third time you've done this and I haven't screamed once. What makes you think it'll work this time?" Kai raised a brow and smirked at me as he continued walking.

He's never fun on Halloween, he never gets scared! Ever! Yeah, he hates pranks and stuff, but he could at least pretend to like my scares! It would be nice if someone actually appreciated my scares for once.

But it's fine, we're going to the Monastery and that's all that matters. Hey, maybe we'll find some friends there. We can't be the only ones that are going, right? And some new friends would be nice; especially for Kai. I'm his younger sibling, so he's my best friend. But he doesn't have anyone older than him to hang out with. Who's going to be his best friend?

"We're here, kitty," Kai said. I snapped back to reality and looked at him, but he just pointed forward. I looked again, only to see the stairs of the Monastery.

"We're here already?!" I asked, surprised. Kai just nodded and started running up the stairs.

"Race you to the top?" He asked, winking. I smirked, running behind him as well.

We ran up the stairs, sometimes skipping steps. We were too focused looking at each other to see who was winning, but I was more focused on Kai's cape flowing through the wind. Probably the closest thing to a superhero costume I'll ever get him to wear. Unless he becomes a real one one day. I wouldn't complain then.

I guess all this running made us a little too absorbed in our race, because we could barely even see the other two boys in front of us. Luckily we managed to stop a few steps behind them, and they didn't see us or even hear us somehow. Were they wearing earbuds or something?

Out of curiosity, I climbed a few more steps and tapped the shorter one's shoulder, despite Kai making an obvious 'no' gesture.

The boy let out a quick scream and jumped, causing his friend to stop and turn around as well. I felt a bit tiny compared to his friend, who was pretty tall for our age. The other one I scared was short like me, but he still passed me somehow, probably because he was one step above me. I'll have to ask him about it later.

Kai soon caught up to me, looking at the two boys. Before he could do anything, the taller one decided to speak for him.

"Are you going to the Monastery too?" He asked us. We nodded, and he seemed happy.

"Do you want to come with us? We're almost there," he offered us something I just couldn't refuse. New friends for Kai and possibly me, on the Day of the Departed? Extra candy from the old man? I'm all up for it!

I gave Kai a pleading look, my casual puppy eyes (well, kitten eyes in my case) in hopes of convincing him. He nodded and turned back to the boys.

"Why not?" He gave his best smile, showing his fake fangs.

We all smiled and started walking up the stairs, seeing there weren't many left.

Suddenly I heard a voice next to me. I think it came from the other one I scared before. I turned to him with a confused look.

"Y-you have a nice costume," he repeated himself, and even I could notice him blushing a little.

"I like yours too," I smiled. Well, I didn't really know what his costume was, but it looked cute.

"I-I'm Jay," he said.

"And I'm Cole!" His friend popped up behind him.

"I'm Nya, this is my brother Kai," I smiled back.

Zane's POV

"It's okay, Sensei Wu. I'm sure my father won't mind me staying a little longer," I said, helping him feed little Lloyd.

Sensei smiled. "Thank you, Zane. I really appreciate you helping me out with the holiday. And Lloyd, of course."

"No problem, Sensei." Zane smiled back and looked at the crib behind them, we're the baby boy peacefully slept.

Zane looked out the window. Sensei Wu had always been a friend of his father's, so he sometimes passed to help him out. Even though he looks more than capable of taking care of his baby nephew, Lloyd and the overall Monastery, he still needs help with certain stuff, mostly mechanical- wise.

Zane finally focused on the view outside. Ninjago city. He looked up at the sky, to see it was starting to get cloudy.

"I think I will need to stay in here for now. It seems like it's going to rain."

"Well then," Wu said. "I'll just grab some blankets for you and-" He was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell ringing. "My my, who could that be at this hour?" he said and grabbed Lloyd in his arms as he headed towards the entrance, and I followed right behind him.

He opened the door, and we saw four kids, about my age on the other side. They looked like they were in their early teens or tweens, all dressed in different Halloween costumes and holding empty buckets, sacks and baskets.

Two of them looked at Sensei with nervousness until one of them, the werewolf, spoke. "Trick or treat..?" He holded his basket up.

Sensei Wu laughed, it was a wonder Lloyd was still asleep in his arms.

"I told you he was a ghost..!" He whispered to the others loudly enough for us to hear.

"Me, a ghost? No, that is simply not true," he said. "I suppose you all came here from the legend, huh?" They all nodded, and I finally appeared behind Wu and stood beside him.

"Hey, I know you from school!" You're Zane, right? Dr. Julien's son?" The space ranger one said. Was that Jay? I think we're in the same history class.
"Nice robot costume! It looks so real!"

I nodded my head to his question, backing away a little and just then a lightning struck in the distance. "It seems like it is going to rain soon, why don't you come inside since you came here?" They all looked hesitant at first.

"Zane here will inform your parents about it, right Zane?" He asked me, and I nodded as I headed to the other room. I can't let the others know just yet, can I? I don't know.

"Would you like some candy? That's what you cam here for, right?" I could still hear Wut day to them. They all nodded excitedly and entered the Monastery, even dragging me along to grab some candy from the drawers. Even Lloyd ate some, I forgot how much he liked them.

The rest of the night was strange. It started raining even more, which meant we had to wait for our parents to pick us up. Kai and Nya's parents... well... they aren't alive, so Jay suggested for them to dine with him, Cole and his parents. They even invited me too. It made me happy.

Let's hope I'll finally make some friends, they seem friendly enough. For once, in this holiday, I had fun.

Yeah, I know it isn't perfect, but I need sleep!

So happy Halloween/Day of the Departed peeps!

C ya!
