Hello my friends. Welcome back to my Crime Book. I am your host, Detective Noel. Today we are looking at a case that I was introduced to 3 years ago while it was being investigated, the story of Ee Lee. A very tragic story that takes all sorts of twists and turns that still disturbs me to this day and it definitely is one of the most under recognized murder stories I've ever read about and it really needs more attention and awareness. Credit to Wikipedia, Milwaukee Journal Sentinal, Asian Dawn, Madison.Com, Twin Cities Pioneer Press, and several YouTube Videos for the information. Thank you and enjoy.

Ee Lee was an Asian-American Woman who lived a very troubling life as she violently abused and murdered her own daughter, Anastasia in 2007, and was violently beaten, sexually assaulted, and murdered by a group of thugs in 2020. This is the story of Ee Lee..

Ee Lee was born on March 14th 1984 in Thailand and moved to California in The United States before moving to Madison, Wisconsin where she met, married, and moved in with her husband, Chueneng Vang and his family. The couple had two children. A son whose name was never revealed to the public, and a daughter named Anastasia Pa Chia Vang. It seemed like Lee was living the happiest life she could've dreamed of, but unfortunately, she would take a very dark path that could completely change her life for the worst...

Lee was abusive to her daughter, Anastasia who she frequently beat ever since she was born. On this day, 15 years ago, on July 11th 2007, when Anastasia was just 1 month old, Lee violently grabbed her head and began slamming her head against a table and stuffing a blanket in her mouth, beating and choking her daughter to death.

Lee was arrested and charged with first-degree intentional homicide, first degree reckless endangerment, and two counts of child abuse. However, she was found to be incompetent to stand trial, so Assistant District Attorney Robert Kaiser sent the 24 year old woman to The Winnebago Mental Health Institute near Oshkosh for a full year.
However, after Lee was evaluated by psychologists at the mental health institute, they determined Lee suffered from psychosis and intellectual disability. They determined she had the intellect of an 8-year-old.
Lee appeared cheerful when she was brought into the court, in stark contrast to her very somber appearance during her previous court hearings. When Dane County Circuit Judge Daniel Moeser asked Lee if she knew what she had done, however, she paused and said "No.".
Judge Moeser canceled her trial in late 2007 after he learned about Lee's mental complications from her psychiatrists and let her go.
If Lee was tried and found guilty of abusing and murdering her daughter Anastasia, she would have faced a maximum penalty of life in prison, plus 24 and a half years, as well as a $45,000 in fines.

Despite violently abusing and murdering her own 1 month old daughter, Ee Lee was a free woman and she did not have to face any consequences for killing her daughter. After she was released, she continued to live her normal free life. Unfortunately for her, her life in the free world would not last long and it would come to a complete end when she would least expect it...

On this day, 4 year ago, on September 16th 2020, 13 years after she murdered her daughter, Lee walked to Washington Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she set up a blanket under a tree and layed down on the blanket to enjoy the nice weather. But the relaxing day soon turned into a nightmare for the 36 year old woman when a group of 11 African-American Teenagers walked up to Lee and demanded money from her. Lee refused to give anything to the 11 thugs, but instead of leaving her alone, they did the unthinkable as they all proceeded to take her clothes off and sexually assault her while one of the teens recorded the horrific attack on his cell phone. One of the teens was even recorded saying : "I LOVE F*CKING CH*NK BITCHES!"...

After sexually assaulting the 36 year old woman, the teenagers then beat her and dragged her to the pond and left her there to die and they left the park. Not long after the assault attack, Lee was found at the pond half clothed and unconscious, but she was still breathing and was rushed to The Froedtert Hospital, but died 3 days later from her injuries.

Nearly 5 months after the murder on February 5th 2021, police arrested 2 African American Teenagers who were participated in the murder. Kamare Lewis who turned 17 less than a month before the attack on August 24th, and Kevin Spencer who turned 15 2 months before the attack on July 2nd. Lewis had recorded the murder on his phone and shared the video with his friends, one of whom was disgusted by the video and reported it to the police. Both teens were taken to adult court on February 9th and confessed to the murder and both of their DNA were found on Lee's body and clothes. Spencer was also involved with three other crimes including in another murder in December of 2020. Lewis stated that he never attempted to call for help because he thought Lee was dead or soon to be dead and it wouldn't have made a difference and that he didn't really care about her at all because she wasn't someone he knew personally. Lewis was also believed that he would be released after his arrest since he And Spencer were given a $275,000 bond, but none of their family members paid to have them out on bail.

3 years later on March 16th 2023, Lewis and Spencer pled guilty to murdering Lee and they were scheduled to be sentenced the Following June. Because they both pled guilty, they faced between 15-80 years in prison. However, if they did not plead guilty, they would've faced a life sentence instead.

Spencer's original sentencing date was scheduled for June 2nd, but was postponed to August 3rd for reasons that were never published. On June 16th, Kamare Lewis was sentenced to 26 years in prison and 19 years of extended supervision afterwards. During his sentencing, he apologised to Lee's family and and his own family. "I'm sorry because I didn't even know you, but I decided to treat you as if I hated you. I really wish I could fix what happened because I honestly do believe that no woman on this Earth deserves to be treated the way you were that night. I am truly ashamed of my actions and the very poor choices I chose." Lewis said. Judge Glenn Yamahiro described the case as one of, if not, the worst case he's ever seen during his 20 years as a Judge.
Less than 2 months later on August 3rd, Kevin Spencer was sentenced to 32 years in prison and 20 years of extended supervision afterwards. His attorneys tried to defend him saying he was very polite and cooperative during the investigation, but their defense did nothing to persuade Judge Yamahiro and the jury. Spencer never spoke and never expressed any remorse during his sentencing.

If Lewis serves his full 26 year sentence, he will be released on February 5th 2047, when he will be 43 years old. If Spencer serves his full 32 year sentence, he will be released on February 5th 2053, when he will be 45 years old.

Despite evidence of 11 people in total being responsible for Lee's murder, no one else besides Lewis and Spencer has been arrested and this case has not received much media attention likely due to the fact that Lewis and Spencer were underage at the time of the murder.

A memorial was held 5 days after Ee Lee died in the hospital on September 24th 2020. Many locals in the area described the case as one of the most heinous stories in Milwaukee History, including the city's mayor, Tom Barrett.

To this day, the story of Ee Lee remains as a wild story full of tragedies, and a crude reminder at how cruel life can be many times and will without a doubt remain as one of the worst murders of the 2020's..

The end...
