Hello my friends. Welcome back to my Mystery Book. Today we are looking at another one of my favourite Mysteries. The Disappearance Of The USS Cyclops In The Bermuda Triangle. Credit to The YouTuber Horror Stories for the information. Enjoy.

On this day, 106 years ago, on March 4th 1918, after staying overnight in Barbados after making an unscheduled stop during a trip of transporting manganese ore from Brazil to The United States, The giant 522 foot long ship known as "The USS Cyclops" departed the island and headed for Baltimore, Maryland. AND THAT'S WHEN IT ALL WENT WRONG...

The USS Cyclops was a massive 522 foot long cargo ship that transported important resources to The Allies during World War I. Little did anyone know however, that what would end up happening to the ship would become one of the most famous mysteries of all time...

On March 3rd 1918, The USS Cyclops was on a trip from Brazil transporting a large amount of manganese ore to Baltimore, Maryland in The United States. However, the ship made an unscheduled stop in Barbados to drop off some manganese ore that the country needed. The crew also suggested the ship should be repaired because it had a broken cylinder that made it inoperable, and it should have been fixed when they had the perfect opportunity to, especially because the ship was overloaded, and an inoperable cylinder would be dangerous, as it could possibly cause the ship to sink. However, the ship's captain thought the ship was fine and there wasn't any need for repairs.

On this day, 106 years ago, on March 4th 1918, The USS Cyclops departed from Barbados and continued its journey to The United States. The USS Cyclops and its 306 crew members disappeared and were never seen again and no traces of them have ever been found and no one knows what happened to them...

Some people believe that the ship was torpedoed by a German submarine, or possibly rolled over and sunk due to its heavy cargo on rough seas, or it was struck by a large rogue wave. This theory was considered even more during World War II when two of The USS Cyclops's sister ships were lost at sea due to being sunk because of an overloaded amount of heavy metallic ore.

One more possible theory about how the ship disappeared was that the captain of the ship somehow betrayed his crew. The ship's captain, Lieutenant Commander Captain George Wichmann Worley was said to be harsh on his crew and endorsed shady methods of sailing. But what made this theory possible was the most serious accusation about Worley, which was that he was pro-German during World War I, until it was later discovered that Worley was actually born in Germany and he was originally named George Wichmann and changed his name to George Wichmann Worley after jumping ship in San Francisco. Some people believe that Lieutenant Worley was actually trying to help his country by abducting the crew on the ship and taking them to another ship for it to get blown up and the people on it to die and he could've accidentally got himself killed because the Germans didn't know that he previously worked for them because he changed his identity.

This story may seem incredibly shocking when you first hear about it, but suddenly, it doesn't become so shocking when you realize that this particular incident took place in The Bermuda Triangle...

The Bermuda Triangle is an area in The Atlantic Ocean well known for its many disappearances of Planes and Ships over the past 100 years, earning itself the nickname "The Devil's Triangle". The story of The USS Cyclops is among the most famous of disappearance stories in The Bermuda Triangle, and over the years there have been many stories about Planes and Ships disappearing in it's waters and skies, and all sorts of theories about how they disappeared, and there still continues to be strange things happening in The Bermuda Triangle...

There may be several theories as to how The USS Cyclops disappeared, but the truth is, no one really knows the answer as to how it vanished and we may never will...

To this day, 106 years later, no traces of The USS Cyclops and its 306 crew have ever been found...

What do YOU think happened to The USS Cyclops and its 306 crew on that very mysterious day, 106 years ago?

The end!
