 Chat's POV:

I was not sure why I even bothered with patrols anymore.

The lack of akumas since Marinette's death was a daily occurrence.

I had not seen one ever since the day I lost her.

I  supposed the whole thing was just a routine to me.

It was not that easy to admit it, but this cat was a one lady person.

I   watched as Sabine and Tom left.

Once I was sure no one else was able to spot me, I returned to the graveside.

I left a small box at the foot of it.

I could not bear the thought of anyone else having it.

It was not fair that life robbed me of the only one who cared about me more than life itself.

I sighed as it started to rain.

Flashback...

"Kitty, what are you doing out here?"

"Princess, I could ask you the same thing.  Tis not that good for a beautiful princess as yourself to be without an umbrella in this wretched weather."

I held out the umbrella to her and felt as it were da ja ve as she took it from me.

My hand brushed against hers, and she pulled away slowly as she opened the thing.

It reminded me of another time when I had loaned her my umbrella as Adrien Agreste. I did hope she would not put two and two together and find me out.

I saw the shocked look on her face.  I  recalled how she blushed.

"Thanks, kitty.  You sure know how to treat a lady."

I knew it was meant to be a teasing remark, but I grinned. I felt the heat reach my face as well. Perhaps, she would be my undoing yet.

"Well, fine lady, a knight has to make sure his princess does not catch pneumonia now, does not he?"

"Pneumonia, now, Chat I think that is a bit extreme. Thanks, for the umbrella just the same."

As she was about to walk away, she turned around, kissed my cheek, and to my surprise as she pulled away, she whispered, "Do not worry, I will take good care of it Adri-kitty."

      End of Flashback...

I  felt my cheeks fill with water from the remorsefulness my eyes contained.

I also felt the rain drops as they fell one by one on my leather.

   I did not care.

The rain never bothered me anyway.
