Twenty seven years later

It was a early morning for Trent. His boss was sick with the flu and he had to open the office today.

Naturally, he accepts. But, he has to work alone today.

That worries him a bit. He worked his way in the medical field into where he us now. But now, it will be the first time doing alone with his boss, Dr. Foster.

He looks into the mirror and slap his cheek. "Come on, Trent. Pull yourself together!! You're a man."

He reassured to himself that everything was going to go well.

Foster Dental Clinic was a nice little pace nestled in the town. The locals were very generous coming over here. Especially the little kids.

Trent was in Foster's office. Looking over his morning patients.

"Already feeling nervous on day being alone." Trent didn't need to look as he know that voice belong to.

"Is there something that you need Hailey?"

"Relax, I just pulling your leg. But seriously, you don't need to be. Doctor, has trust you long enough to handle this."

"Yeah. Besides, I'm the only one who the equipment properly."

Throughout the say, people came by for their teeth cleaned or something else. But, the business here somehow never changes.

Five o'clock came about and Trent was finishing up in the office.

"I'm already heading out, Trent. You sure you don't want met to..."

"No, it's fine. Just a couple of things left to here."

"I must say you rarely have any fun with me and my friends. You should come to the Annual Cultural Festival. The theme today is myths."

"Hailey, I don't know. I mean I moved here six months ago. I still don't feel 'there's no place like home in my body."

"Well, this is the perfect for you. Plus, I overheard Clad is going to be there.

His heart shot up.  Clad was a police officer working in the crimes department. He had been having a crush on Clad since he got here.

They've talked several times but never got the chance to really alone without someone interrupt them. Namely, Clad's father.

"Look like I got you attention." she smiled.

"Okay. Okay. I'll come. But don't drag me around with your craziness.  I want to discover this myself."

"Yeah, if that discovery leads you in his bedroom. Goodnight, Trent."

Trent was all kinds of red.

"Come on, focus. Don't forget your job here."

Trent arrived home shortly after eight and he was in his private place.

His home outside was not so big; but, it was very convenient. Plus, he lives in a nice gated community.

He was outside reading a small book as a full moon bright up the night sky. It reminded him of all the stories that his grandmother told him.

A tale of vampires, werewolves, and other creatures with mysterious abilities. In any cases, they were considered rare. And the hunters would track them down. She believed that some of them hunt for reason.

While others do it for sport. Trent wasn't fond of things like this. He considers them to be people. Yet, his grandmother laughed telling him there's more to them than meets the eye.

His doorbell rang. "Yes. I'm coming."

He opened it as Mrs. Willams as holding a basket of trick and goodies as well. She was a nice old lady and very friendly ever since he moved.

"Mrs. Williams. I appreciate this but you know I moved six months, right."

"Yes. But, this is for your next door neighbor. He coming over here tomorrow afternoon."

"A neighbor next to me. Well this is news to me. Who is it?"

"Not really. The only I know he worked as a model or was a actor. I remember his name was Luka."

"Luka?" Trent kindly took her welcome gift.

"I would see him. But this poor old lady has appointment with a doctor. But when, I do come back, I make him the biggest lasagna that will knock his socks off. Well, I hope you have a wonderful evening."

Williams walked away as Trent locked up for the night.

"Luka..interesting name. And a model to boot."

There were many questions about him and he hadn't even met him. But this was fascinating to him.

"Maybe he's one of those high class Victorians back in the days."

Midnight slowly came upon his town. Then, a loud scream rolled in the distance followed by crunching noise. With in a second, the scream stopped. And everything was at peace once more.

Or so it would seem.
