Shad walked into the restaurant where he is to meet Eifad, he glanced at his watch- 8pm, he is pleased with himself. He is on time, he went to the counter and is lead to the table he had reserved. The hotel isn't much posh or even to Eifad's standards, it's more like a dhabba. But he is sure Eifad won't mind. Their friendship isn't that superficial, its deep, intense, and pure.

Shad is stunned on seeing Eifad sitting at the reserved table. She is dressed in off shoulder full sleeved lacy black and red dress, her shoulder length hair curled at the edges. Dark black kohl adorned her almond shaped eyes and blood red lipstick on her plump lips. She looked like she has come for a party. Nevertheless, she looks beautiful. Shad smileed at her taking his seat opposite her.

'You are looking beautiful' he complimented her, she blushed. The blush making her look even more beautiful, Shad thought.

'I am so happy, Eifu, I got this job...'Shad said happily after the waiter had gone taking their order. Eifad nodded her head. She extended her hand and placed it over Shad's

'You deserve it' she said and he smile widened.

Shad took a small gift wrapped box and forwarded it to her. Eifad looked at it confused.

'For you' he said. Eifad neatly unwrapped the box and opened it. Shad leaned back watching intently his best friend's expression change from confused to a shocked one. She looked at Shad stunned and then back again at a delicate gold chain, it has a small sideways star shaped pendent. There is a note too.

Eifad took out the note, she unfolded it and reads "You are the star of my life"

She is speechless, her eyes getting moist. Shad stood up from his seat and kneels beside Eifad.

'You liked it?' he asked. Eifad nodded her head. She doesn't say anything, she couldn't, she is speechless and overwhelmed with emotions.

Shad took the chain and stood behind Eifad.

'Let's see how it will look on you' Shad said. Eifad closed her eyes feeling his finger tip graze her nape. An electric jolt runs down her spine once again, she smiled as Shad ties the chain around her neck.

'You know Eifad, after the interview' Shad started talking as he and Eifad ate veg noodles. Eifad nodded her head fidgeting with her noodles. Shad smiled recollecting the face of the girl he had seen in the afternoon. That girl was simple and so pretty.

'I met a girl... I forgot her name (Eifad's grip on her fork tightened) she looked tense...but you know...she was so damn beautiful' Shad said with a dreamy smile on his face.

Eifad clenched her jaw, she held a knife placed beside the plate tightly, her knuckles turned white. Shad shook his head happily.

'Her Hazel eyes, her braided hair and that voice... Eifu, that voice so melodious and when I shook hands with her, I felt a jolt...I never felt...'

Eifad lifted her fork slightly and pierced the plate so hard that there was a loud clink sound starling Shad.

'Eifad!' he panicked, he leaned forward and took the fork and the knife from her hand. He noticed her breathing heavily and blood on her palm. She had held the fork so hard that the handle left a mark and the knife pierced her soft skin. Before Shad could react, Eifad stood pushing behind her chair

'Eifad!' Shad called but she walked away without another word.

'Arghh...' Eifad screamed slamming the door to her room with a thud. Shad's dreamy smile flashed before her eyes, the smile that was supposed to be only for her, was for someone else. Some pretty girl he met at the hospital. Who could she be? Eifad leaned against the door and closed her eyes taking deep breathes.

Shad's words echoed in her ears. She quickly took out her phone and called her assistant, Mr. Saxena.

'Tomorrow, I want all the details of all the female doctors and nurses on my table' she yelled at her assistant and cuts the call before he could answer

'Ahh....' She screamed again throwing her phone, the phone flies and is smashed against the wall. Eifad rushed to her bathroom, she washed her face. As cool water splashed on her face she felt relaxed, her breathing slowly returning to normal.

This was not the first time, Shad had appreciated a girl in front of Eifad, and it wasn't the first time Eifad reacted this way. But this time, with the look on his face and the tone of his voice when talking about this new girl, he had just met made her more uncomfortable. But little does Eifad know, that this was just the start.
