Pelco's POV

"This disguise is so boring", Tody said, looking at his scales.

He changed them to a viberant combonation of blue, white and red.

"Now this is more like it! You want to have a rousing discussion about spirit? I just wanted to say G-"

"Shh! Change your scales back Tody. We need you to stay in that disguise if this plan is going to work", I told him.

"Pelco, I'm not so sure this is going to work. I don't have the tail of a Leafwing or the wings of a Leafwing."

"Trust me, Tody, you look almost exactly like my cousin, Silverbell. Nobody would be able to tell you're a Rainwing from a distance", Oaktail asured him.
"Besides, what choice do we have?"

"Fine", Tody said, changing his scales back.

"Are all of you ready?", I asked.

"We're ready."

"Get into your positions. Let's hope this works."

Third person POV

Sunny went down the staircase, her heart pounding.

Ok, just do what Pelco told you to. Don't blow this.

"I know that's you, Qibli", she said to the darkness.

"Yep, it's me", said a voice that definitly wasn't Qibli's.

"What are you doing down here?", the voice asked.

"I'm looking for some books that Silverbell asked me to get", Sunny answered as calmly as she could.

"Wait, would Silverbell happen to be a green and white leafwing?", another voice asked.

"Yes. She's up-stairs if you want to talk to her."

With a muttered "Be right back", the dragons left and Sunny heard the sound of two dragons going up the staris.

Oh, I hope Pelco and her friends are ready for this!

Pelco's POV

"Pelco, what do your seawing eyes see?", Oaktail asked.

"Tody is being chased by two dragons, a Hivewing and a Leafwing. They're coming this way!"

"Everyone, brace yourselves!"

As the dragons ran past our hidding place behind the trees, we jumped on them.

Me and Clay leapt on the Hivewing.

Oaktail and Avocet jumped on the Leafwing.

The Hivewing's tail lashed angerily when we had gotten her pinned down.

Dusky sat on it to keep it out of the way.

"Thanks, Dusky."

"No proble-ahhhhh!!!"

With a mighty lash, the Hivewing pushed Dusky to the edg of the cliff.

"Dusky!"

Right before he fell, Bumblebee grabbed his talons.

"Don't you dare let go!", she said feircely.

I quickly went to her side and together, we pulled him up.

"Thanks, Bumblebee", Dusky said with a shy smile.

"Well someone's got to save you when you're being a brave idoit."

Dusky blushed and evorted his eyes.

I gave him a pat on the back.

"You'll get to her eventually, Dusky", I said, reassuringly.

He gave me a thankfull smile.

I walked back over to our captives.

"We have some questions for you", I said to the Hivewing.

"we ain't talking!', she shouted.

"That's what I'm here for", peril said.

She jumped down from the rock she'd been watching from.
As soon as she set talon on the grass, it went up in flames.

The Hivewing didn't even flinch.

The Leafwing, on the other talon, looked terrified.
"Lacewing, it's pretty much over at this point anyways, we might as well start talking."

I got the sense that he was trying to keept his voice stedy.

"Who are you?", I asked.

"I'm Amur and that's Lacewing."

The Hivewing scowled.

"Which of you was the dragon who attacked Damselfly and windhaven?", Oaktail asked.

"That was me", Amur admited.

I shot Junco a significant glance.

"But I was the one in charge though", Lacewing said, with more than a hint of pride in her voice.

"Why did you do this?", Cliff asked.

"Oaktail's Father kiled my sister almost four years ago.
My sister was the ony dragob I ever cared for. He-"

"But, I didn't kill anyone", Oaktail interupted.

"Your Father did what's the difference?", Lacewing demanded.

"So, what any of that have to do with the attacks?", Windhaven asked.

"Not all of the attacks were tied to me; most of them were made on dragons this slug-brain thought were a threat", Lacewing said with a growl.

"Where's Silverbell?", Oaktail asked.

"We thought Seasnake let her out which is why we chased your idiot rainwing friend.
But, now that we know he's not, she's probably still down in the caves deeper in the mountain", Amur answered.

"How does Seasnake fit in?", I asked.

"We threatened her into helping us. She's so paraniod we didn't even need to do much", Amur said.

"So, why are you helping Lacewing?", Junco asked.

"I'd heard rumors that animus-touched ojects are hidden in the caves of Jade Mountain.
When I found out about Lacewing's plot for revenge, I offered to help her, thinking it would give me time to search for the teasure.
I didn't want to tell her, but, Lacewing presured me into telling her, which is how she found out about it", Amur explained.

"How did you make that blood-trail?", Junco asked.

"Goat carcass. Another one of my ideas", Lacewing said.

"What was the peice of paper I found inside my necklace?", I wanted to know.

"One day while I was searching, I came across a necklace. It was open and inside, I found a small note. I read the note and realized that it must have belonged to the Rainwing Chamelion", Amur said.

"But, I was the one who had the idea of erasing the previous spell and putting the papper into your locket to get you into trouble. And it would have worked too, if it wasn't for your annoying boyfriend", Lacewing said with a scowl.

"Well, nobody stops my boyfriend on his watch", I said, hitting Oaktail playfully.

"Ow, hey, careful, Pelco; I need that arm!", he said with a grin.

"Pelco, if that was your last question, we'll take these two back to Jade Mountain", Clay said.

"I just have a few last questions, Clay.
Why did you through Oaktail into the closet before the play?"

I leand closer to Oaktail at the thought of what might have happend as a result of that replacement.

"I was trying to start an agrument between the two of you. And", Amur said with a flirty grin," I myself thought you were a beautiful creature and envied Oaktail. But, you're just too smart for that, Pelco."

Well, clearly you're not, if youthink I could possibly fall for a narcicistic, selfish dragon like you, I thought to myself.

I didn't say it out-loud, however, least Amur didn't answer the last question.

"Is Acrea involved?"

"You don't miss anything, do, you, Pel-"

"Please just answer the question", I said interupting him.

"Acrea is just what she seams like: a selfish dragon who's never given thought to any dragon but herself", Lacewing said.

She seamed almost as annoyed with Amur as I was.
Almost.

"Alright, Clay, let's bring them back now. What are we going to do with them?", I asked.

"We'll probably just send them back to Pantala. Untill we decide though, we's keep an eye on them."

Tsunami, Sunny and Starflight were waitting for us when we got back.

"Whoo, you guys did it!", Sunny cheered.

"Give me fave, Pelco!", Starflight siad, holding out his talon.

I wacked with enthusiesum.

oaktail was talking with a small green-and-white Leafwing dragonet.

She bonded over to me.

"Hi! You must be Pelco! Thank you so much for helping me! I was so- I mean, I wasn't scared, they were scared of me!", Silverbell said, gorwling at Amur and Lacewing.

"Well, you're free now, Silverbell", I told her.

"And, now that we've caught the colperates, it's time for the boring part", Oaktail whicpered to me.

"What boring part?", I asked.

"The part where, me, Tsunami, Sunny, Clay, Starflight and Poisonleaf discuss what exactly we're going to do next."

Exactly one hour, thirt-eight minutes, and fifty-two seconds later. . . .

"Ok, so here's what's going to happen.
Amur and Lacewing are being sent back to Pantala with Avocet, Poisonleaf and Oaktail.
Oaktail and Avocet will be coming back after Amur and Lacewing are in the talons of the Pantalain authorities", Tsunami told us.

"Can I come? I want to be there to help explain exactly what happend. And, I've never been there and I would love to go", I said.

"Sure, that shouldn't be a problem. The tripe should be about four or five days depending on a few things", Tsunami said.

As I was packing my things, a wave of guilt came over me.

Spell or no spell, I almost killed Junco. I should go appoligise.

"Pelco, I can't belive you're coming to Pantala with me! And on our way back, we'll stop at The Kingdom of the Sea! I can't wait!", Oaktail said excitedly.
He noticed something was wrong.

"What is it, Melleth nin?"

"I feel guilty about what happend earlier. I know it was just a spell, but, I can't help feeling responsible", I told him.

"Pelco, it was just an accident. Nobody blames you. You solved the mystery and you deserve a break. Go get some sleep; I'll finish packing for you."

I smiled.

"Thanks for sticking by me today, Oaktail."

I gave hima kiss and as I driffted off to sleep, my train of thought was something like this:

I'm going to Pantala with Oaktail tomarow!
I'm going to see the Leafwing vilage and meet his family.
I hope they like me. . .

Oaktail's POV

I smiled at Pelco's beautiful face as she sleept.

Her breathing was calm and peacefull.

I softly kissed her on the cheak.

"Goodnight, Melleth nin."
