In the distance, police sirens wailed as they headed towards the Police Department.

''Find me those ninja! They can't just break out of Kryptarium and completely disappear. I want witnesses, I want locations. These fugitives are Ninja, people. They could be right under our noses for all we know.'' The Commissioner demanded.

Nya wore a moustache and a cop hat, her disguise as a cop. ''All right, I'm in their secured network. But I still need that password.'' She whispered into her communication device on her wrist.

Jay was also disguised as a cop, wearing a brown moustache and hat. ''I'm looking for it now, but I don't get it. Why do we have to hack into their system when we already have a Nindroid?'' He asked.

''Because Nindroids don't know everything. And if Soto says the map is the only thing that can stop Nadakhan is on his ship, we need to find it. And find it fast.'' Nya answered, whispering.

''Hey, real fast, what's the password again?'' Cop Jay questioned Tommy.

''The password is "password."'' Tommy answered.

''Got that?'' The Lightning Cop asked, whispering.

''That worked. Now searching city records for the last known whereabouts of his ship, Misfortune's Keep.'' Water Lily whispered back. ''Speaking of which, hey, Kai, how's Destiny's Bounty holding up?''

''I got my eyes on it now, sis. We sure could use it.'' Her brother replied, and accidentally touched the electric fence. ''Ow! Careful, Zane. It's electrified.''

''I believe all of the signs on this repo yard made that abundantly clear.'' Frosted Ninja told him, pointing to the crazy amount of signs on the fence. ''Perhaps there's another suitable solution past this obstacle. Airjitzu?'' He asked, before using it to gracefully fly over the fence.

''You don't have to sound so cocky,'' Kai said and followed with his Airjitzu.

''Looks like we have some trespassers. Go get them, Sir Chomps-A-Lot.'' The Repo Man told his dog.

''Okay, I've located Nadakhan's ship. It was last recorded to be seen in Gypsy Cove. Three clicks north of Cannon Beach.'' Splash Cop whispered.

''Thanks, Dilara. Oh, I mean, Nya.'' The Earth Ninja spoke, correcting himself as Lloyd laughed.

''Not funny. Let's see how you like it when you look like our enemy's sweetheart.'' Nya replied, making (Y/n) look at Cole.

''Gypsy Cove isn't far. We'll let you know what we see when we get there.'' The Green Ninja told her.

Kai was on the lookout while Zane tried to break the Destiny's Bounty chain restraints.

''Would you hurry up?'' The Fire Ninja asked the nindroid impatiently.

''These chains will take me a while. You could keep interrupting me or perhaps start making yourself useful.'' Zane answered, and Kai tried to melt the chains using his fire, but the Repo Man's bulldog started chasing him.

''Aah! Get away, get a—Get away, get away, get away!!'' The Hotheaded Porcupine screamed as he ran.

''Trespasser! Don't move!'' The Repo Man shouted, and shot in Zane's direction, but missed and broke the chain instead.

''I told you to hurry up!'' Kai said to Zane.

''Would you be quiet and run?'' The Ice Ninja asked as they ran, their screams transferred to Nya's communication device.

''Well, if you can't get it, for my sake just get out of there, you two,'' Nya whispered under her breath.

''Get out of here?'' Cole asked, confused. ''But we just got here.''

The Water Ninja sighed. ''Not you, Cole. Did you find Nadakhan's ship?''

''Not exactly. But there is evidence of it. Looks like some repairs are made. But this is strange. What is electrical wiring doing on an old pirate ship?'' Lloyd questioned, picking up something with electrical wiring.

''Maybe it already set off to sea?'' Cole asked.

''I'm getting no readings of it anywhere. You'd think a big pirate shop would get someone's attention.'' Nya answered.

''If Nadakhan's ship's not here, and it's not out there, where is it?'' The Green Bean questioned.

''Hey (Y/n), can you use your ears to hear for the ship?'' 1 per cent Cake Ninja asked.

''Hold on, let me put on my necklace.'' (Y/n) replied, taking it out of her pocket.

'It was strange how Chamille acted while giving you it, sort of suspicious if you ask me.' Morro spoke.

Once (Y/n) put it on the world seemed as if someone had pressed the mute button on a Tv Remote. She could no longer hear the waves crashing against the rocks, nor the whistling of the wind.

Remo looked at (Y/n), wondering why she had suddenly become so still. Lloyd tapped her on the shoulder, and she jumped a foot or so into the air, startled.

''What's wrong?'' The Earth Ninja asked her, making her eyes cloud over in utter confusion.

''I can't hear.'' (Y/n) said after a moment of realisation, seeing Cole's mouth moving but there was no sound coming out.

The little snake looked concerned and looked at her necklace, the (b/s) dull.

(Y/n)'s hand's went to the necklace clasp, trying to remove it from around her neck, however, it proved useless as nothing happened.

Cole walked over to her and tried to undo it, but even his strength did nothing. ''Can't you ghost out of it?'' He asked.

''She can't hear.'' Remo reminded the Earth Ninja. (Y/n) was beginning to panic, trying to get the necklace off as she fumbled for the clasp.

The Water Ninja approached a food truck.

''Let me take care of that. A gentleman—'' Jay said in a deep voice, appearing aside Nya. He then spoke in a normal voice. ''I mean, uh,'' Speaking in a deep voice again. ''a superior always pays. Normal voice. ''Whoops. Hahaha, wrong pants.''

''Here,'' Nya told the server with a deep voice, giving them money. ''This should cover the both of us.'' The two walked over to a bench and sat down, and Nya took off her hat and moustache.

''It really is you, Dilara.'' Dorito Genie said, watching the pair from a distance.

The Lightning Ninja chuckled. ''If I had a dime for every time I was broke. Heh.''

''Oh,'' Nya said.

''What did I say?'' Jay asked.

''I expect it from others, but not you.'' The Water Ninja told him.

''What? Can't I try and buy lunch for a friend?'' Ginja asked.

''But I know you don't just see me as a friend. All week you've made it pretty obvious. You're still harbouring some feelings. I've tried to ignore it, but-'' Nya answered.

''It's cause I'm from a junkyard, isn't it?'' Jay interrupted.

''Of course, not. We're friends. Good friends. But that's all we are. And that's all we're ever gonna be.'' She told him and sighed. ''Look, I'm already the girl Water Ninja. But my role on the team shouldn't be defined by who I'm seeing, but who I'm fighting.''

The Lightning Ninja sighed. ''I get it. A real friend wouldn't put you in that position. I'm sorry, Nya.'' He apologised.

''Thank you for understanding. And you don't have to pay me back. Can't a friend buy lunch for a friend? Hug?'' She offered.

''How about a fist bump?'' Jay asked, and they fist-bumped, but the tomato sauce on Jay's burger stained his shirt. ''Argh.''

''Oh, um...'' Nya said awkwardly.

''Look at that. Heh. I guess lunch is on me. Haha. Excuse me while I find a place to clean this off.'' He replied, turning and leaving Nya.

The Ninja regrouped in Yang Tavern.

''I'm so tired of sneaking around,'' Kai told the others. Remo told Zane of (Y/n)'s hearing problem and the nindroid grabbed a piece of paper and a pen, writing down what the others said on it and passing it to the girl.

''Easy, Kai. We're all itching to get back into action. But so far two of our own have gone missing, and none of us have yet to lay an eye on him.'' Lloyd told him.

''If only we knew someone who had faced him and could tell us what to expect,'' Zane replied.

''I wish Wu were here to guide us.'' The Green Bean said.

''No! Don't say that word!'' Jay interrupted, making the others look at him, except for (Y/n). ''I mean, why wish when we have everything we need right here, right? Haha. Go, Ninja, go?'' He asked, and everyone in the tavern looked in their direction.

''Nice going. You blew our cover.'' Cole told him.

''No, he didn't.'' Nya corrected him and pointed to the tv.

''Hey, can someone please turn on the subtitles?'' Lloyd asked, and someone with the remote turned on the subtitles.

''Thank you.'' (Y/n) said to the Green Ninja, who smiled and turned to the Tv.

''I don't know why this is news anymore, but Ninjago City's once again under attack by pirates. Or dare I say, Sky Pirates?'' A man on tv asked his viewers.

''We have to help!'' The Earth Ninja said.

''But we're fugitives,'' Zane replied.

''Doesn't matter. We protect the innocent.'' Lloyd told the others.

''And Soto said the map is on that ship. If we wanna stop Nadakhan, we need it.'' Nya said.

''Well, what are we waiting for?'' The Fire Ninja asked. ''I thought we were all itching to get back into action.''

The police gathered at an intersection.

''Pull your flying vehicle over now!'' The Commissioner commanded.

''I-It's been too long, Captain,'' Clancee told Nadakhan.

''It has, hasn't it?'' Cheeto-Coloured Genie asked.

''So they finally fixed our offices.'' Said a businesswoman, before seeing Misfortune's Keep. ''Oh, great, not again!'' She exclaimed, and her coworkers ran out of the room, with one jumping over a seat to get out.

''For our own safety, travel in pairs. We need to protect the people but also get that map.'' Lloyd informed the others, standing on a rooftop.

''I forgot, what does the map look like?'' Cole asked.

''It's on a lantern. Look for a lantern.'' Zane answered.

''Ninja, go!'' The ninja shouted and went to do their part.

''Protect the people, Commissioner. We'll take care of the menace.'' The Green Ninja told the Head of Police, standing on a police car with (Y/n) and Cole. The three then ran off, with the police watching.

''Why didn't you arrest them?'' The Commissioner asked.

''It sounds like they were trying to help,'' Simon answered.

''You might be soft, but I'm not.'' The Head of Police replied, and went after the ninja, climbing over a car.

''Whoa, who knew the commish was so nimble?'' Tommy questioned.

As the Misfortune's Keep ship flew, its anchor trailed, leaving a trail of destruction in the road. ''That is not cool. But this is! Ice!'' Zane said, using his shurikens, but Flintlocke shot them down.

''Now it's my turn.'' The sharpshooter said, and the Water Ninja took her hood off, shocking Flintlocke.

''Boy, you're real ugly,'' Cole said, seeing Dogshank who hung onto the anchor.

''I'm not a boy. I'm a lady.'' The hulking lady told him, and leapt at him, forcing him to the ground before picking him up and swinging him, then letting go.

Lloyd, Cole and (Y/n) fought Doubloon, who then used spinjitzu, trying to attack them.

''So he knows Spinjitzu. Let's see if he knows Airjitzu.'' The Green Ninja said, and the three used Airjitzu. ''Forget him. We need to get that lantern.''

''Look out!'' Jay warned, turning and running the other way while Kai jumped over the explosive barrel, separating them. ''Ugh. I'm okay.''

''I'm going after that lantern,'' Kai told him.

''Wait, we're supposed to stay together!'' The Lightning Ninja yelled but was stopped by Clancee.

When he eventually caught up, he saw Kai, who was taken by Nadakhan and twirled up into the sky, where he poofed along with the orange genie. ''No! Kai!''

''Huh? Where are we? What did you do?'' Kai asked, finding himself on a beach with the Floating Carrot.

''I thought a little privacy might be in order. You were in such a rush. For what? Let me help you. You can wish for it.'' Nadakhan told him.

''The only thing I wish is for you to take me back.'' The Fire Ninja replied.

''Your wish is yours to keep.'' Bootleg Will Smith told him, and the two travelled to the past.

''This isn't Ninjago City. This isn't my wish. I told you to take me back.'' Kai said, looking at his surroundings.

''Ah, but how far back? This is Ninjago City. Dare I say, the humble beginnings of it.'' Nadakhan told him.

Kai caught sight of someone familiar carrying weapons. ''Wait a minute. Is that...''

''Your father? Yes. I believe he is around your age now. A little more pathetic.'' Cheeto Dust replied.

Past Ray knocked on a door. ''Well, pirate activity is on the rise. Protect yourself with a custom-made weapon and—'' He said, being interrupted as the homeowner slammed the door shut on him, making him drop his weapons. ''Ugh. A little help?'' He asked Kai, holding up a pair of nunchucks.

''Ugh. This isn't what I wished for.'' Burnt Toast replied.

''Why won't you help your poor father?'' Nadakhan questioned. ''He's right there. You could spend some quality time.''

''Please, friend, I just need a hand.'' Father of Burnt Toast/Toaster Dad said.

''Dad?'' Kai asked, struggling to resist the temptation.

''I wish you could take me back. Back to when things were good. Back to before all this mess, when people liked us and bad guys like you were never a problem. Back to the days when girls were crazy for me.''

''Your wish is yours to keep,'' Nadakhan replied.

''Where is everyone?'' The Fire Ninja asked, looking around at the bare streets of Ninjago. ''I said that—''

''You said a lot for one wish. Too much to make any sense. But the girls are crazy for you.'' Dorito Genie: Four Arm Edition told him.

''Kai!'' A woman screamed, and soon there seemed to be an army of zombie-walking fangirls, who started to surround the Fire Ninja.

Cole turned invisible and snuck behind Monkey Wretch, before throwing him off the ship.

''Bad monkey. Now, where is the lantern? It's gotta be here somewhere.'' The Earth Ninja said to himself,

''I ain't afraid to shoot you in the back,'' Flintlocke told Cole, and shot at him, but the bullet passed through him as he was a ghost, ricocheting into the Realm Crystal, and making it shatter.

''You shot the Realm Crystal!'' The Earth Ninja exclaimed.

''Well, you made me miss!'' The sharpshooter replied, and Cole glanced to see the lantern, leaving with it.

''I got it. Let's get out of here.'' Cole told Lloyd and (Y/n), who leapt off the ship.

Kai barricaded himself in an abandoned house, with the crazed fangirls on the other side of the door.

''Argh! This is-This is not what I wished for!'' Burnt Toast said as he used a table to block a window.

''You have one more wish. All of this can go away if you just say the words. Just wish it away...'' Nadakhan told him.

''Kai!'' they screamed.

''...and be done with it all.''

''Okay! Okay! Make them stop! I wish for all of it to go away!'' He wished as the fangirls began to drag him out the door.

''Your wish is yours to keep.'' Bootleg Will Smith told him, absorbing the Fire Ninja in the Djinn Blade, and returned to his crew.

''Did you—'' Flintlocke said.

''Yes, we got what we came for. Let's go.'' Nadakhan told him.

''You heard the captain! Air ho!'' The Sharpshooter told the pirate genie's crew.

''We've got the lantern. Return to the meeting point.'' Cole informed the others.

''Hi, guys. I'm almost there.'' Lloyd told the team.

''Freeze!'' The Commissioner said, aiming his taser at the Green Ninja. ''Don't test me, Lloyd Garmadon!''

''You know we're only trying to help. If you don't believe me, pull the trigger.'' Lloyd said and ran away.

''Oh. Darn Ninja. I hate it when you're right.'' The Commissioner replied, watching as the Green Ninja left.

''All right, now let's fire this lantern up and check out the map. Kai, a little light? Kai?'' The Earth Ninja asked, before noticing the Fire Ninja wasn't with them.

''Where's Kai?'' Nya asked.

''Uh...'' Jay said, looking away.

''Who was supposed to—'' The Water Ninja said.

The ground rumbled, making them fall onto their backs.

''What was that?'' Zane asked.

''I don't know. But I'm afraid to find out.'' Lloyd replied.

Back at the Repo Yard, the Repo Man heard his dog barking. ''What's wrong, Sir Chomps-A-Lot? Someone getting at that ship again?'' He asked his dog, going outside to investigate. ''What in tarnation happened to Ninjago?''

The two found a crater where the Destiny's Bounty was supposed to be.
