The Pharos of Alexandria, commonly called the lighthouse of Alexandria, is the often considered the  oldest lighthouse in the world.

It was built by the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Ancient Greece sometime between 280 - 247 BC and was one of the first lighthouses ever built.
