Swords clashed together in the dim light the candle faintly produced in the heat of battle. All in this moment (y/n) could think about was killing Tabbris and chasing after Ariel. She must... or all would be lost.

She could admit Tabbris was fast on his feet, swift and elegant, but fierce and hard-edged on his opponents. Sebastian helped by slashing at the vulnerable spots Tabbris left unhidden, but it wasn't good enough to slow the angel down.

Fierce as it was, this was child's play to (y/n). Tabbris fought with fear, not with pride which would surely get him killed on the spot.

"Gib auf, ihr werdet beide verlieren!" (Give up, you'll both lose!)

"I have no idea what you're saying, but I won't let Ariel take the cup for his own," She slashed downward onto his chest, "because I will have my freedom back!"

Tabbris let out a small chuckled before raising his sword, blocking (y/n) slashing attack. Something about his baby sky blue eyes were dark, hidden behind them was a darker personality.

The sight shocked (y/n). How could an angel this evil be pure, but not be a demon like herself? All she did was weep over the dead body of her best friend, Duncan, who was blood iced by the time she found in lying in his own pool of blood.

Sebastian cat pupils widen just a second before grabbing onto (y/n)'s waist. "Stay back, there's something inside him he's holding back."

Tabbris laughed, but it was deeper, much deeper than before. Bugs crawled out of his mouth, the ends of his fingers growing with sharp edges deep enough to cut through armor. From his back produced huge spider legs, even his eyes dilated to become mutilated.

(y/n) wanted to throw up at the sight of that monster. Acid spilled from Tabbris mouth, dripping down and landing on the ground, where it burned a hole through the iron floor. A squeak came from (y/n)'s mouth only.

This was her worst nightmare, a spider twisted together... a human spider... or an angel spider in this case. Sebastian didn't seem surprised in the least, because he's seen stranger this back down in Hell.

He twisted gracefully when the spider monster spit acid at him, sweat coming onto his forehead as he knew he couldn't keep up for much longer. An idea clicked inside (y/n)'s head as she tugged on his coat sleeve.

"I got an idea! Charge straight towards the monster and I'll jab it in the heart with my sword!"

"That's a stupid idea! Sebastian yelled, slicing at the monsters four legs. "It will get us both killed easily in due time!"

"Just trust me! I saved us back in the crypt, so trust me now, Sebastian! Or we'll never get out of her alive!"

Sebastian knew she was right, but a hollow feeling was inside him at the fact that charging at the monster would not only be dangerous, but fatal to one of them. An opening was in sight as Sebastian grabbed her on both sides, charging towards the spider monster with high speed.

(y/n) struggled to take out her sword, but at the last second it buried deep inside its throat. Tabbris choked on his own acid and fell over, his spider legs twitching and crumbling away. Sebastian sighed in relief and set (y/n) down.

She smiled and did a tiny jump for victory, grabbing the Silver Cup from his hands. "It worked! Bloody Hell it worked!"

Sebastian had no words and simply smiled, a real smile for her. Being the trickster he was, he hid it in his eyes who held the real smile. He was so caught up in watching her he didn't notice the acid slimming up towards him, inside it a cross.

It was too late for him to react in time, but (y/n) covered for him, but with dangerous results. The cross had burned a hole through (y/n)'s stomach. She vomit blood, darker than usual as it looked dead already.

Sebastian was too shocked to act for a second before grabbing her, saving her from falling. He started to panic, the nearest town was miles away, and the life inside her was dying fast. Cries of blood screaming were heard outside.

He slammed the door opened to find the other hallway covered in blood paintings, bodies decorating the walls, some hanging from the candle holders. The least person he wanted to see right now was Malach, sweating and panting hard.

Malach stopped panting when he saw (y/n), the burned cross in her stomach. He sheathed his sword back and ran towards them, snatching her from his grasp.

"What the Bloody Hell did you do to her?!" He roared in pure anger, his eyes harder than an emerald.

Sebastian watched as he set her on his lap, using his powers to heal her. "I didn't do anything, she protected me and took the blow herself."

"I thought you swore to protect her," His voice couldn't be anymore nastier, "demons do lie... I knew it..."

That was the last straw for Sebastian as he scratched at the prince's face, leaving a bloody gash down the side of his cheek. "Be quite, you spoiled rotten prince. I did not know (y/n) would leap in the way to protect me. I would have stopped her and saved her with the chance I would have done."

"Is it because of your contract only?" Malach asked, iron against iron on his voice.

"What do you mean?"

"You'll only protect her because of that contract! You swore to your master you would protect her, not because you care about her, it's only from a piece of paper your bond too. Demons don't have hearts, they never can love, and their souls are a black-hole."

For the first time in his life, Sebastian was at a loss for words. It was true, the contract now stated he must protect (y/n), but only because the master had said so... not because for his growing feelings for her. He looks back, thinking if he would have saved her in that moment, but he did owe her life too him.

"I-" Sebastian coughed before speaking again, "-I don't know if I do have a heart left inside me, but I... do feel some feelings for (y/n)."

"You what?" Malach pulled her body closer to him, snarling at him. "Stay away from her. I don't care about the contract anymore. As long as I'm around during missions, you will stay your distance from her. Am I clear?"

Everything inside Sebastian told him to fight back, don't be controlled by his ways. Then he glanced back at (y/n), her body pale and lifeless, but beautiful all the while as her face looked peaceful in pain.

"You are clear. Let's look for a town nearby, shall we?" Sebastian turned, showing no emotions to Malach as he led the way.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(y/n) always wondered why Death never came to her. She figured it was either death didn't like her, or she simple escaped his grasp too many times to count. The smell of earth mixed in with wet rain clouds were in the air...
With a heavy heart she recognized it, the garden Duncan and her used to play. It was where she found Duncan dead too... grass stained with it deeply into the earth, as if telling her he was already long gone.
"What are you staring for? Come join me for tea."
A jolt of surprise sparked inside her. Slowly, she turned around and couldn't believe anything right now that this was a dream. Duncan was smiling at her, sitting on a white chair and drinking tea with a honey scent.
Just like his brother, Malach had the same emerald eyes as him, but lighter along with tiny speaks of gray. His bangs brushed around his eyes, having him narrow them and flip his head back.
(y/n) giggled slightly. "It's great to see you... am I dead? Please tell me I'm dead."
"Certainly not," He set his tea cup down with a soft tap, "because your duty on earth isn't finished yet, Miss (y/l)."
Now she was confused. "Excuse me? You mean there's something else I have to do? Getting The Cup of Heaven doesn't matter?"
"Oh it does for my people, which I'm glad you're doing to get it back, but your lover will be lonely without you."
A shock stopped her, inches from the chair she was about to pull out and sit on. "Lover...? That's... not possible..."
Duncan smiled, so perfectly it could have been Heaven's smile. "Oh (y/n), you've always been the dense one when it comes to romantic. Can't you see it is the demon you journey with? Sebastian is his name if I remember."
(y/n) laughed out loud, slapping the chair in front of her. "You're kidding!"
"I'm not kidding." He said, jaw set straight and plain.
She shut up and lost all the air inside her. Sebastian... as she lover? Soulmate? Could love even be possible for her? "Duncan... please tell me this is a joke."
"Not at all." He stood up and embraced her in a loving hug, so familiar and warm, it made her break down in tears while he whispered into her ear. "I'm dead, I was too be your soul mate, (y/n), but fate has chosen another soul mate for you. Please love him as you did for me. I want to see you happy, and live out your life with him. Only then will I rest in peace."
