Bank robbers (No mist)

Nico Di Angelo despised mortals. They were always making a big fuss over everything. And now that the mist had just disappeared (probably worn too thin from Percy's countless acts of demigodishness in front of the mortals), all demigods were being called back to the camps.

The gods were worried about how the mortals would react. Rightly so also. The mortals were terrified, mostly attacking any demigod they found.

Nico and Hazel decided it was time to head back to camp (they both and Will had been attending school in the city). Will had gone the day before because camp was sort on doctors after Pollux had almost been beaten to death by mortals.

They probably should've just gone straight to camp, but Nico insisted on stopping by the bank so he had cash on hand in case something happened.

Biggest. Mistake. EVER.

"Nico, this is stupid." Hazel whispered to him as they stood in line to extract his money, "You don't need any money!"

Nico sighed, "alright fine, you got me. I don't want the money. Dad does. Not sure why though-"

He didn't get a chance to finish as the guy in front of the room pulled out a gun and shot at the ceiling. "EVERYBODY GET DOWN!"

He had partners that also bright out guns. Hazel looked for a moment like she was going to try and fight but Nico grabbed her wrist and forced her down.

"Don't!" Nico hissed in her ear.

The robbers cracked open the huge safe leaving two gun to watch the hostages. Hazel was practically fuming. One of the guys notice and grinned almost shark like.

"Hey pretty girl." He smirked, "You shouldn't snarl. It doesn't look good on you."

"Go to Tartatrus." Hazel spit back.

The guy growled at her. Like how dare she be spiteful about being held at gun point during a bank robbery. Stupid mortals. "Why you little-" The guy pointed his gun right into Hazel's face.

Nico saw red.

Hazel described it to him later, but all Nico knew is that that guy, who'd tried to insult his sister, had held a gun to her face. The criminal didn't last long enough to gasp.

Nico snapped his neck. A cold feeling flashed over him as the guys soul traveled to the underworld. The other guy aimed his weapon at Nico, but he was far too late on the trigger. Nico gave him an undercut, with enough strength to slam the man back into on of the bank's marble columns, his gun clattered out of his hands. Nico was so mad he picked it up and broke it over his leg. Then he tossed the broken pieces behind him.

The mortals looked shocked and the guys who were in the vaults, came dashing out. The one guy's gun was already blazing. Metallic bullets bounced off the grand entry off the build as he ran. Nico barely had to think. He folded into the shadows and appeared behind the man. With a swift block to his head, Nico knock the guy unconscious. He glared at the last guy, who gulped.

The room was silent for two seconds.

Then Nico flung his arms out and ripped the man's shadow from under him. The man slammed to the ground and didn't move.

Nico stood breathing heavily.

Hazel got up and brushed off her shirt and pants. "I could've taken them." She said.

Nico cracked a slim smile.

It didn't last long.

"Sure, Haze." Nico said. Outside the police sirens grew louder. "I think we ought to leav-" His voice broken like shattering glass. Hazel screamed. Nico was so shocked he couldn't move. He clutched his chest , right over his skull shirt. He gasped for air.

"Hazel." He choked. A metallic taste filled his mouth. He fell forward.

"Nico!" Hazel's voice sounded lightyears away. She caught his fall, his face hooked over her shoulder. "Nico!" She said again. He could almost feel her tears draining down his back. He was getting blood on her shirt.

"What Did You Do?" Hazel screamed her voice tinted with panic and they collapsed to the floor. He vision was blurring. Pain tore open his chest and splattered him across the floor.

There was a faint clattering. A man, a mortal, was hiding a child behind him. at his feet was one of the guns, the barrel still smoking. A woman screamed at them.

"He saved your lives..." Hazel sobbed, "He saved you."

Nico coughed, his lips dripped out blood. He didn't know what to say. Or do. His brain wouldn't let him think.

"He's a monster." Someone said a man standing over them. He held a gun at Hazel. Her gold eyes were lit with a fire. "Just like you."

Nico was so tired he closed his eyes.

The sound of a gunshot rang in his ears.
