AN: So... remember a few chapters ago when I said this wasn't where I had meant for this story to go? I meant that quite literally because as it happens I know absolutely nothing about legal proceedings, including how lawsuits worked in the early 20th century. So, I'm tying up this story with a good old time skip! I had so much fun writing this, you guys don't even know how fun this was for me, and I haven't yet decided which of my stories I'll be publishing next, but I've got a lot lined up, so keep an eye out! And I hope you enjoy this tiny, cheesy chapter!

Christmas arrived in Manhattan, and the Kelly apartment was full of people, and for once, the crowd didn't make Jack nervous, because it was made up of all of his favorite people. All of the old newsies were there, including Davey and Les - who had grown up way too much since Jack last saw him - and Louis, who Jack and Katherine had not technically adopted, but he was living with them for the time being, since they had amazingly won their case.

The medicine had allowed Louis to make what seemed to be a miraculous recovery, so that now his symptoms were so minuscule, they resembled that of a cold. He had already become surprisingly close with the boys, Les especially, so he didn't mind seeing them constantly.

As for Jack, he still had the noises in his head. He still saw things he shouldn't be seeing, and he still didn't sleep. But they were searching for help, something that didn't involve sending him to an institution. They would find something eventually, and he could teach himself to cope. Maybe it wasn't the best situation, but it was the best it could be for them at that time. And they would stick together through everything.
