The ballade originated in France and became popular in the 14th century and has twentyeight end rhymed lines in total. There is no set line length or meter.

It is split into four parts (stanzas).
Three - 8 line (octaves) and one closing stanza (envoy) - 4 line (quatrain).

The same line (refrain) is used as the last line of each stanza. The rhyme scheme for the first three octaves is a, b, a, b, b, c, b, C. The envoy rhyme scheme is b, c, b, C.

In the poem below I have used the rhyme theme:
a=ting b=ight c=ore.
I have also opted unnecessarily to limit to eight syllables.

FOREVER MORE

From that moment of first meeting.
You had my attention, alright!
So totally captivating!
Ensnaring fully my eyesight.
As if you were my sole birthright.
Confident that; and truly sure.
Your essence granting me invite.
To make you mine forevermore!

Trouble I had concentrating.
Others fading into backlight.
I found you intoxicating.
Your existence too much delight.
You had encaptured my limelight.
Took me higher than I could soar.
Making a bond so watertight.
To make you mine forevermore!

All my thoughts accelerating.
Rising like fear at a bullfight.
About us cohabitating.
Urging myself to be forthright.
To act before the end of night.
Speaking clear to ensure rapport.
In the smoldering candlelight.
To make you mine forevermore!

To sweep your off your feet tonight.
I will now say that I adore.
Without further delayed requite.
To make you mine forevermore!
