Levy P.O.V

"Up an attem shorties!" Gajeel shouted. I squeeked as he lifted up my sleeping bag and I started tossing. "Put me down metal head!" suddenly I flopped to the ground with a groan. "Ow." I crawled out of my sleeping bag and glared up at him. He grinned and ruffled my already messed up hair. "Jerk." I swatted him away. I rolled up my bag and got up. Wendy was still rubbing her eyes as the exceeds rolled their mini sleeping bags.

It was still mostly dark out with only a hint of pink on the horizon. I pulled out the map and made the word light so I could see. Gajeel looked over my shoulder and I pointed to the map. "This is the path we'll take." I followed it up to the tomb. "But this will cut the trip in half." He pointed to a path that was nearly straight up a cliff. "Do you have any idea how dangerous that is?" He shrugged. "So what. The exceeds can take you two, and I'll just climb." He grinned as he turned his hand into a pick.

"You can never take the easy way can you?" I grumbled as he chuckled. "Gihee, what would be the fun in that?" I rolled my eyes as Wendy joined us. We set off for Gajeels dangerous path. The sun was finally high in the sky by the time we reached the cliff. "You sure you'll be ok?" I asked Gajeel. He simply grinned and began climbing. His hands picks and sharp knifes at the ends of his boots. Lily grabbed the back of my shirt and flew me straight up, Wendy and Carla close behind. Gajeel was still climbing by the time we reached the top.

"Do you want Lily to come get you?" I shouted, knowing he could hear me. He shouted something and I had to look to Wendy. "Something along the lines of I don't need help." I rolled my eyes. I sat on a boulder with a sigh and Wendy sat beside me. Everything was calm and quiet while we waited for Gajeel. I turned when I heard a rustle in the trees.

"What pretty little girls!" A man said as he stepped forward. He wore deep red and had short spikey purple hair. I jumped to my feet, standing in front if Wendy. Something about him made my stomach turn. Several more men stepped out wearing the same deep red. "And they're from a legal guild too!"

I glanced around trying to get a head count. 20 mages. With Gajeel we could do it but he's still a ways down the cliff. "Lily!" He nodded and dove down the cliff. "Solid Script Hole!" I shouted. A large hole opened below a majority of the mages and they fell with a scream. The purple haired mage evaded my trap and dashed at me. "Sky dragon roar!" Wendy yelled. Again he evaded. "Solid Script Meteor Shower!" The word appeared above a us and flaming meteors rained down on the man, as if targeting him. He jumped back just as something dark shot up from the cliff.

"Iron Dragon Pillar!" Gajeels metal arm shot forward, smashing into him. His comrades pulled themselves out of my hole and bolted into the woods. "Come back cowards and fight me!" Gajeel shouted as Lily set him down. I sat down heavily, sighing. "Calm down Gajeel. I'm sure they'll show back up" I said. He was silent as he stared into the woods, eyes narrowed. "What is it now?" he held up his hand. Wendy was staring into the woods too.

"Something doesn't feel right... The air tastes wrong..." she whispered. I stood back up and got my light pen ready and listened. Then I heard it. It was a soft rumbling sound at first, like a rock slide in the distance. The ground slowly shook an I had a hard time keeping my balance. Carla took the back of Wendy's shirt and lifted her into the air, Lily doing the same with Gajeel. They scanned the top of the forest.

"Do you se-" I started. The ground below me broke free, black vines emerging from it. One wrapped around my throat and I gasped, grabbing at it. Another wrapped around me, pinning my arms to my chest and two more grab my legs. "Levy!" Gajeel yelled. I saw Lily fly towards me as everything started to go black. The vines tugged and the earth devoured me.
