Spring Break: Start

"Let's see......water.....sunscreen...my swim trunk.....towel....hats.....hmmmm~. What else?"

I tried thinking other things that I should bring, before deciding to make some sandwiches if one of us start to go hungry. After I finished making the sandwiches, I packed them in my duffle bag before checking the time.

"It's already 9:00am..........I think its best if we get to the park as soon as possible before the line gets too long."

I took the duffle bag off my bed before locking my dorm door. I put my hand in my pocket to take out a piece of paper that has Yugi's written address on it.

1948 Opel St. Domino City 97231

'Hmmmm~ It's not really that far at all. Alright.'

I began walking to the front gate to exit the school ground.

Unaware that someone is stalking me.

(Yami: I have a pretty good feeling of who that 'stalker' is.😓)

*Time Skip: 15 minutes*

I was able to enjoy the scenery while I walk along the streets that I wasn't able to have time to see. Luckily I didn't have to worry about any homework (Chapter 2) and that Spring Break has already given me the opportunity to spend time with Yugi-sensei.

I remember Joey's words clearly in my head as I replayed it again.

Joey sighs in my lack of romantic before he stares down at me and deathly said, "You're going to do more than go on a date."

"Eh?"

"You're going to confess your love."

".......NANI!?"

I sigh in exasperation.

'For Ra's sake, how did I ever got Joey to talk me into this!? Better yet, how did he even got involved in my love life anyway?'

I continue on through the streets before I finally found myself at a game shop called, "Kame Game".

'Hm? That's weird. Did I accidently turn the wrong corner?'

I expected Yugi's address will lead me to Yugi's apartment or a house that he rented to live in. I turn around to get back to where I started before my eyes landed on the windows. Duel Monsters cards, most of them rare, are now out on display. I smiled when I saw students of Domino Elementary chatting together before entering the shop. One of them ran up to the counter before yelling out towards someone from the back. An employee.

I decided to check out the place, so when I open the door-I was shocked at the person who had come out from the back and is now smiling cheerfully at the kids before greeting them.

"Hello. Welcome to Kame Game Shop! How may I help you?"

"Do you have any strong cards? Like dragons? I love dragons!"

"Of course! Please wait a minute for me to bring the-"

Yugi's eyes met mine and hold it there in surprised before he blushed.

"Y-Y-Yami....!?"

"Good morning, Yugi........sensei."

The conversation ended there as we both stood in awkward silent. The kids looking back and forth at us in curiosity. Especially, why Yugi is blushing so badly in front of mine?

Yugi's eyes then travel down to the clothes that I am wearing; I quickly look to the side to prevent him from seeing my face.

'Do I look bad or something?'

More like the opposite; he's checking you out. Which is a good thing by the way.

'I hope so.'

"Ehhhh? How come the room's so quiet all of the sudden?"

All of us turn to the person that had just release the tension in the air to see an old man looking at all of us in confusion. When his eyes land on mine, his face immediately brighten before he blurted out, "Is this the man that you told me so much about, Yugi?"

"Huh? Oh! Yes. Yami, this is Solomon Mutou. Mr. Mutou this is-OW!"

I blinked when I saw the old man whack Yugi on the head before scolding, "Yugi, I told you before to lay off with the 'Mr. Mutou' thing. Call me Grandpa. G. R. A. N. D. P. A."

Yugi rubbed his head shyly before saying, "Yes Grandpa."

Both of them laughed before 'Grandpa' waved at me to 'come here'.

I walked up to them to see his bright smile upon his face.

"So. I heard that you're going to take him out on a date today. Is that correct?"

"Well....it's not actually called a 'date'. I'm just taking Yugi out to explore the places that Yugi wasn't able to see, yet."

"I see. So, where are you taking him?"

"Kaiba's Waterland Park."

"Oh~ That sound fun indeed. Yugi, did you prepared everything to go?"

"Huh? Oh! Umm, yes Grandpa. I did."

"Then what are you waiting for? Hurry and go!"

Grandpa grabbed Yugi's waist before starting to untie the apron strings, taking it off, open the counter's door, and thrust Yugi out. Yugi stumbled before I quickly caught him in my arms.

"Are you alright?"

"Y-Yes...."

We stare a bit before it broke when Grandpa finds it funny enough to through Yugi's duffle bag between our faces.

"Grandpa!"

Grandpa just winks at him, before urging us to hurry before saying, "Yugi. I want you to have a break. Especially your first Spring Break. You've been working hard in my store as an employee AND as a teacher. You seriously need to relax and Yami here will make sure of that. He'll take you out to enjoy yourself, so please have fun and don't worry about me. Alright."

For a second, Yugi stood there; dumbfounded. Before he shook his head and happily said, "Thank you, Grandpa. I will!"

"You better! Now get going already! Ever second you stand there, you'll just waste the day! Go! Shu! Shu!"

And just like that. We found ourselves outside of Kame Game Shop. Me with a surprising face, while Yugi rolled his eyes at Grandpa's exaggeration.

"Well....that was interesting."

"Yes."

We both look at each other before we burst out laughing. Almost making out the words that are being thrown at us from the inside of the shop. Both of us turned at the same time to see Grandpa talking with the kids. His expression is both kind and joyful, which also reflect back on the kids' face.

"Yami?"

"Yes, Yugi?"

"Shall we go?"

I nodded before taking his hand in mine before leading him and pointing at the many stores that sells great products. Yugi watches and listen and laugh at parts that seem funny to him.

"Yugi? Did you pack everything for the Water Park?"

"Yep! I can't wait!"

I grinned in agreement.

"Me too Yugi. Me too."

As I watch in happiness, Yugi's joyful smile brighten up my face as we head to our destination.

'This will be the best day, ever!'
