"Alexander Hamilton?" Alex looked up at his name to see a tall man looking down at him. He gulped at his intimidating gaze and stood up, only coming to the man's shoulder.

"Y-yes. Sir." Alex quickly responded.

The mans gaze softened and he stuck out his hand. "George Washington. I'm fostering you, correct?"

Alex nodded, he remembered Ms. Izzy telling him.

"Now remember, his name is George Washington. He and his wife have been fostering for over 20 years now, they'll take good care if you. The Washington's have one adopted son. He's about two years older than you but I think you'll like him!" Alex nodded and Ms. Izzy grabbed his hand. "It's okay, Lexi. The Washington's are very kind." She had said.

Alex could only nodd as she handed him a one-way plane ticket to the U.S. "Goodbye, Alexander. I love you." Alex nodded and Ms. Izzy drove off, leaving him alone in the run-down airport of the Caribbean.

"So, Alex, what are some of your hobbies? Do you like school? What's your favorite class?" Alex could only shrug. He had no interest whatsoever in talking with this man. He knew Washington was only putting on a kind face until they got to his house. After about a month of kindness, the beatings would start and just like that he'd be in another foster home, and the process would start again.

Washington asked some more questions -Hamilton shrugging each time- and eventually gave up. The drive to Washington's home, Mount Vernon, Ms. Izzy had told him, was passed in silence.
