I can't break the cycle, am I just a fool?

Rosemary had an entirely different life now that her father Thyme was behind bars. She mostly taught the new guys Rosie hired the behavior of each of the ghost types by mimicking them. But one day, she was given an important task.

She had to help Rosie exorcise a ghost in Splendon’t’s house. She knew that red squirrel pretty well. Oftentimes when she left the house, she would bump into him. The two got along surprisingly well. And now, it was her turn to help him.

Falling down like dominoes, hit by family jewels! Pass it down from kid to kid, the chain will never end.

She thought back to her father as they were driving there. He was an abusive jerk. But so was his mother. And so was her grandmother’s father….so on and so forth. She was glad she died, then. Because that meant she could never pass down the mistreatment her family had.

'Less I decide to go to it, will I see the end?

She would never see an end to those like her, however. But….her father couldn't be hurt by her father anymore. Not anymore.

She wouldn't let him hurt anyone ever again.

Ooh, don't you find it strange? Only thing we share is one last name.

Splendon’t, on the other hand, was alone with his thoughts on his porch. He thought about Splendid. He was brothers with that blue squirrel, despite the only thing the two had in common was their last names. He heard the van in the distance.

Did I beat you at your own game? Typical of me to put us all to shame.

Rosemary waved to her friend. It was time to beat the ghost at its own game. She sighed. She most likely would screw it all up, just like her father said she would.

Splendon’t run away from the ghost. Damn, it was fast as all hell! He thought back to his family once he was safe in a closet. He had his soul trapped in a damn mirror because he refused to let their father walk all over him. He was angry Splendid escaped that fate at first….but now, he was glad. No one should ever have to go through that.

Rosemary thought back to her brother. Barberry Swanson. He was infamous for his temper, or rather, his lack of one. And given the description of this ghost…she started to think the ghost was Barberry.

Barberry didn't want to haunt Splendon’t. But his father….he told him that he was hurting his sister. And that ignited his wrath. NO ONE HURTS HIS LIL SIS. He screamed in wrath again. Being a Yokai, everything was loud and he wanted everyone to SHUT UP.

Family said that I decided to live a loveless life. Is it my fault we stay divided? 'Cause I got too much pride…

Splendon’t was still in the closet, unaware that the hunt was over. His family were jerks to him. With one sole exception. Splendid. They said he was too prideful, but he thought that was bullsh*t. But he knew him and his brother were the reason his family split.

Pass the parcel, wrap, unwrap, and open up the locks, Out come flying all the secrets of Pandora's box.

Yep. The ghost was indeed Barberry. Now, it was time for Rosie to calm his rage against Splendon’t. Rosie knew that Rosemary wasn't an only child, she thought that she was the only one Thyme hurt. Nope. Now, she had to help him too.

Oh, you think I'm unfit, Little did you know that I was cut for it!

Rosemary was VERY good at ghost hunting. And now she knew why her father turned her into a ghost. Because she was more useful to him like that instead of alive. She sighed. She would never get him out of her hair, would she?

When Splendon’t finally left the closet, his eyes widened in shock at what he saw next.

Barberry and Rosemary fought, slamming each other into things, slamming things into each other, but Rosemary was clearly winning the battle. It wasn't even FAIR for Barberry.

Splendont dove in between the two, causing their eyes to widen in shock. They never expected him to get in on it! But this break between the fighting caused them to realize the fighting was pointless.

And with that, the haunt was over. It was easy enough to calm Barberry now that his sister was there and the fate of his father was revealed. But now…where was Barberry supposed to go?

I can't keep my cool……I can't keep my cool.

But Rosie was there, and she took him back to her house. He gazed out of the window, smiling. Tonight, he was a new man.
