"YOONGI! WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" says Seokjin as he bursts through the room with red ears and an equally red face.

The hair on Yoongi's head stands up and he lets out a hiss, but that doesn't faze Seokjin.

"We did not become human to mate with Nari, what the maknaes did was uncalled for and unlike them you have self control!" Seokjin growled.

"Fine, whatever you say." Yoongi sulks to the doorway without even glancing back at me.

Seokjin smiles sweetly at me and says, "Don't worry about us, we'll clean now because we've seen you do it many times. I'm sure we can adjust to human thumbs."

I start to tear up because what he said was so heart warming, I quickly got up before he could close the door and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"No wonder this house did not feel complete, I felt like we were missing someone and when I first found you I knew it was this feeling." I confess.

"That makes me happy knowing you think of me like that, you're the best." Seokjin smiles. "And call me Jin now, we are friends!"

"Yes... friends." I said quietly.

"Get some rest!" Jin quickly said and closed the door.

I laid down on my bed and decided to call Minseok. He's been taking care of the hospital even though it's below the apartment, but keeping an eye on seven full grown (used to be pets) hybrids was eating up my monthly expenses. Giving them jobs isn't a bad idea, but it's their ears and tail which will expose their identity and that scares me.

Luckily, I didn't have to call Minseok first because he did before I could.

"NARI, TURN ON THE TV NOW!" He shouts.

"What? Why?" I ask.

"Just shut up and go to channel 5!" then he hung up the phone.

I stumble out my door way and turn to channel 5 in the living room TV. The commotion I made was enough to get everyone in the living room. The headline was "Hybrids are making their first appearance in public and people are either loving it or hating it, if you own a hybrid go to howtotrainyourhybrid.gov to know what rights and limitations your hybrid will have, as well as how to take care of one."

I call Minseok again and once he answers I shout, "THERE ARE MORE HYBRIDS OUT THERE?!"

Minseok laughs and says, "I guess they're also making veterinarians study the physique of hybrids too."

"WHAT?!" I exclaim, and just as I say that the next TV headline was, "ATTENTION ALL VETERINARIANS: Any licensed animal hospital will have to tend to the care and health of hybrids, the government will send out teams of scientists to visit your facility and give you the basics of how to take care of a hybrid as well as what makes them a hybrid. All hospitals that have been in business for more than two years will need to do this with no exceptions. The government does plan to compensate a very large sum to the study of hybrids. The goal is to make hybrids our new working force as they are cheaper than robots and easily obey commands when trained properly."

I turn around and see my seven pets on the couch staring at me with big eyes and at a lose for words. I did not like that part about making hybrids the "new working force" because I knew that meant hybrids will be put into dangerous jobs like mining or in nuclear plants. I have enough money to take care of all of us for now, but to make sure they all achieve their dreams don't seem impossible—but it just got way more difficult. Minseok calls me again and I answer.

"The scientists are coming next Saturday." He says quietly.

"Yes, I see." I said calmly.

"Do we hide them or what?" asked Minseok.

"I'll see what I can do." I said.

"Are we going to be taken away?" Jungkook cries out.

I hang up the phone and put it in my pocket.

"Of course not, I have you all under my name, I own you, but I do not want to own you. You all have a voice now... I... I can't train you to do whatever I say, I took an oath for myself to never harm any animal. Sending you to the work force is sending you to death." I begin to boil with rage. This isn't just animal cruelty anymore, it's like putting a whole new species just because they're different into the lowest class.

"I shouldn't even call you my pets, or animals, you're basically human. But you still have to rely on me, I can't send you out to the world without any knowledge of what will happen—,"

"NARI! We understand! We can feel your frustration and sadness! Don't worry about any of that because..." Jin's voice slowly fades away.

"We love you..." Hoseok finishes.

I smile lovingly at them.

"We want to be taken care of, we can't help but to feel loyal to you. The big black box is right, hybrids listen to their owners because they can not help it. I guess it is in our DNA." Namjoon said.

"But, I can't see myself doing all those things. What will the government do if they find all of you here? They didn't say anything about adopting hybrids." I panic again.

"You may have a point there, but you own us and found us first so maybe you can make a stand and keep us, for now." Yoongi said.

"And risk getting you all taken away?" I said in a shaky voice.

"You can say we're here to help you, you're training us to be like you." Jimin suggested.

My eyes widen, that does seem like a good excuse. But then I see a quiet Taehyung and Jungkook.

"What is wrong my loves?" I asked as I look at them.

"We're just listening and agreeing with the hyungs. We are scared and don't want to leave your side Nari. We promise to try to be as useful as we can." Taehyung said.

"I don't know what the future holds for hybrids, but I have a bad feeling about humans taking advantage of us. There are already many pets without homes and now they're creating hybrids. We know how humans can be when they turn bad." Jungkook simply said.

"Who knew you're so smart Jungkook, I am impressed and couldn't have said it better." I praise. "Maybe there are other hybrids out there in need of help too." I conclude.

"This was a good talk and all, but I would really appreciate it if I could talk to Nari alone." Jin said.

"Sure thing... we'll go to our rooms then." Jimin said and eventually everyone else followed.

They listen to Jin so well...

"What is it Jin?" I ask as we stand in my room.

Jin only looks at me softly and pulls me into an embrace, and resting his chin on my head while giving soothe strokes to my hair.

"What is it?" my question is muffled since my face is against his chest.

Jin shushes me. "I just want some peace and quiet."

That's when he puts all his body weight on me and my tiny frame begins to shake.

"You're heavy!" I complain.

"Is that so?" He teases. Then he carries me bridle style to the bed and tosses me onto the soft mattress.

"I'm feeling playful Nari, play with me." He pouts.

"NO! I-I don't want to!"

"Do I have to make puppy eyes now?" He whispers.

"HUH?"

It was too late, Jin's eyes had a sort of sparkle, his lips so shiny and moist... was his skin always this soft and a wonderful tan color?

As we sat on the bed, I couldn't help but stare lovingly. Jin looks at me confused and realized his arms are still tightly wrapped around me, but he doesn't pull away.

"You know I'm the eldest." He suddenly says.

"Are you sure? Your mentality is the same as Jungkook's." I tease.

"I've been thinking about it, our pet age doesn't match our human age. In fact, we all look like adult males." He said.

"Maybe because animals age differently than humans. Puppies grow faster than babies, and so on." I said.

"That makes sense..." He nods.

After a couple moments of silence, Jin asks, "What are babies?"
