I went back inside the house, totally weirded out. I was ninety percent sure that I saw someone playing guitar outside my window. He couldn't have run off that fast. Could he?

Mom and Granddad had stopped talking completely, and mom was sitting by herself in the living room drinking her, "feel better wine". On several occasions, she had told me that drinking it made her forget her pain. I used to believe it, but now, I know that she began to frequently want to "forget her pain".

I learned the word alcoholic in sixth grade and ever since then, applied it to my mother. She needed help. She just didn't like to admit it. "Hey mom. Where's Granddad?" She waved me off and downed her drink.

I rolled my eyes and tried to find him myself. She was no help to me at all when she wasn't sober.

I went back upstairs to where I had first found my, "room", and was just about to call Granddad's name until I heard him snoring in the room two doors from mine.

I smiled and entered into "My room". If it was my room. The girl who had once lived in this room listened to so many artists and bands. There were like a billion posters everywhere. And I didn't even listen to half of them.

'I'm going to clean up this room if its the last thing I do', I resolved. If it was my room, it was about to get a serious grooming. But if it wasn't, well, it got a serious grooming anyways.

I walked over to the window again, in hopes that I wasn't going crazy and that the guy playing the guitar was there. I looked outside and there he was. Playing the guitar again. This time, when he looked up, I smiled, and he did the same.

That was enough to have me rushing down the stairs again to meet him. I had a fleeting feeling as I ran down the stairs that he wouldn't be there and that I was just seeing things. My heart sank. 'No. He has to be there. I can't be seeing things'.

I burst through the door and ran into the backyard and exhaled a sigh of relief. He was there. And he was smiling at me.

I let out a shuddering breath. I really needed to get in shape. Relief washed over me as I stared back at his face. "I knew I wasn't going crazy", I exclaimed breathlessly at his really attractive face. Like, he was extremely attractive. He smiled really widely and strummed his guitar strings.

"Don't worry, you aren't going crazy", he chuckled, his blue eyes sparkling, "Hey, I'm Blue. David Blue". I smiled really hard. This kid was really hot. "Hi, I'm Paige. Jennifer Paige", I responded, mocking his James Bond impression.

He laughed, "You're funny. I like you". I blushed a little. "Quick question?" I asked him out of no where and he nodded. "Sure, what's up".

"Well, its actually two questions really. How did you disappear so fast, and why are you playing guitar in my backyard? Not that I don't like it, I'm just curious". He grinned, "Well, as you should know, I like playing guitar in your backyard because its really quiet around here. Also, the reason behind my disappearance is that I got really scared when I saw you. I thought you were someone else and I kind of left".

"Left is an understatement for what you did. You practically just disappeared", I laughed. He did too, but his was a little nervous. "Yeah, I guess so".

"So, who did you think I was?" I asked him. His grin faltered, "Just someone from my past. I can't really remember her name, all I know is that she might be really mad at me for something I did a long time ago", he told me.

I was really confused but I decided to brush it off. I mean, this was my first time meeting the guy. I shouldn't expect him to spill his deepest and darkest secrets to me.

"So how old are you?" I asked him, as an attempt to change the subject and to get to know more about him. Besides the fact that he was getting cuter by the second. "Eighteen. How about you?"

"Sixteen", I answered, a little disappointed and a little happy. He was only two years older than me, but he was eighteen. He was too old for me. "Would your mom let you hang out with an eighteen year old stranger all by yourself like this?" He asked with worry in his face.

"No. No", I quickly defended, "I mean, my mom doesn't even care. She's right now drinking her ass off inside", I rushed quickly and he grinned. Then I realized what I had done. "But don't think of trying anything. I know karate and I went to military camp", I stated with conviction with my fists in the air.

He laughed and raised his hands up in defense. "I'm pretty sure you're tougher than me. Don't worry, I won't mess with you". I laughed and put my hands down.

"You remind me of someone I used to know", he told me happily. I smiled. Maybe he would say something romantic. "Who? Who do I remind you of?" He furrowed his brows. "I- I don't remember. All I know is that she might be mad at me for something I did a long time ago", he told me, while zoning out.

"Yeah, you said that already. What's the deal with-".

"Wait. What time is it?" He asked frantically, while grabbing his guitar. I hesitated for a moment. "It's only five p.m", I responded slowly.

"I'm so sorry, I have to go. I hope to see you later". He began to run. I chased after him. "Wait, is it curfew or something? Are you late?"

He took a turn at the side of my house and I chased after him but once I got there, there was no one in sight. He just, disappeared.

Tell me down in the comments what you think. It's still early and your input would mean a lot to me. I hope you enjoy. and the next chapters are coming soon. :)
