Elijah hummed as he sorted through some of his old things. He'd decided to clean under his bed, which he had.. Definitely done recently.

"Jesus, there's a lot of stuff." Reid looked around.

"Well, some of this is probably my old college stuff." Elijah sighed as he picked up a small box.

"Can I see?" Reid leaned over.

"Oh, the box?"

"Mhm."

Elijah nodded, handing it over,"I think I know what's in it."

Reid took the box, opening it up and looking inside. It was a stack of old photos of Elijah and his group of friends from college.

"This is cute.. He's not, fuck him." Reid pointed towards James.

"Jessie took them.. She wanted to be a photographer." Elijah sighed.

"Eli." He sighed and hugged his side.

"No, it's okay. She wouldn't want me to be upset." Elijah leaned into him, looking at the pictures,"God, look at me."

"You're so cute." Reid hummed.

"I look ill." Elijah sighed.

"You probably were." He rubbed his back.

"I know I was."

"But you're better now."

"I want to think of the good times back then, but I can't even remember most of them." Elijah shook his head.

"Don't worry about it, okay?" He kissed his head.

"..Okay."

"You're better now." He smiled.

"And I have you." Elijah hummed.

"Exactly, so I'm better than everyone else."

"I can't agree with that."

"How?" Reid gasped.

"I'm kidding." Elijah chuckled,"You're the best."

"I'd hope so." He nodded.

"You are."

"I'm glad." He smiled.

Elijah kissed his cheek,"Come on, I've still got to clean up this mess."

"I'll help you."

"Good, I'll need it."

"I could never be a FBI Agent." Adelaide covered her face once she heard about their latest case.

"Never say never, Addy." Morgan hummed.

"Nope. Taking lips?" Addy groaned,"Ew, no."

"Well, we got him in the end."

"With a dead body."

"She'd been dead for a long time."

"Nope, not me. I wouldn't even be able to handle it."

"Well, you don't need to." Morgan assured her.

"Good. I'll become something easy.. I don't know what yet, but I will."

"Whatever you choose to be, I know you'll be great at it." Morgan smiled.

"I hope so."

"You will, trust me."

"I mean, I wanna help people."

"There's a lot of ways that you can help people, Addy." Morgan hummed.

"Like..Teaching maybe." She shrugged.

"You'd be a good teacher." Morgan nodded,"Elementary? High school?

"Yeah, maybe. Definitely not high school, my class is hard enough to just be in." Addy laughed.

"Makes sense." He chuckled.

"Okay, unfortunately we have to go Addy." Fleur sighed as she walked in.

"Another case?" Adelaide turned to her.

"Yeah. I'm sorry, sweetheart." She kissed her head.

"It's okay." Adelaide shook her head,"There's always next time."

"I love you."

"I love you too, Mama." Adelaide smiled softly.

"No loves for dad?" Morgan gasped.

"Of course I love you too, dad." Adelaide hugged him.

"Love you too kiddo." He kissed her head,"No parties."

"You know I wouldn't." She rolled her eyes.

"I don't know, could be acting out. You're getting to that age." He joked.

"Don't you have a case to be getting to?"

"Okay, Miss Speedy." Morgan laughed.

*********************************

As they all walked into the Conference Room, Hotch began to speak.

"Three women murdered inside a gated community in Southeastern New Mexico in the last two months."

"All three inside." Morgan sat down.

"Marjorie West was strangled in her home in the middle of the night while her family was out of town. They found her the next morning." Hotch continued as each photo appeared on screen,"Jill Long was strangled in the laundry room while her husband and sons were camping in the backyard. And last night, Aubrey Jacobs was killed in her home office while her daughter and husband were asleep in the house."

"Occupied dwellings is at high risk as it gets." Fleur sighed.

"He's fearless." Reid agreed.

"Proximity, the chance he might get caught, that could be part of it for him." Emily suggested.

"You said gated community. I'm assuming that means security?" Elijah tilted his head.

"A small security staff and perimeter cameras. Everything's recorded 24/7 and no one has entered or left the compound since last night except residents. It looks like the UnSub is part of the community. The local Detective says that demographics, general makeup, and socioeconomic status of the residents is essentially the same."

"That's going to make a profile difficult." Emily pointed.

"Unless we examine a different set of parameters."

"Different parameters?" Morgan asked.

"Rossi is working on that now." Hotch told him.

*********************************

"What do you think Hotch meant back there?" Elijah asked.

"From what I think.. A replacement for JJ." Fleur bit her nail.

"Oh god. Another name?" Elijah sighed.

"Another name to remember." Fleur chuckled.

"I'm screwed." He muttered.

"Hopefully they won't be here for long."

"Yeah, it'll be temporary."

"Hopefully." Morgan muttered as he walked over.

"I'm not in the mood to put up with someone new." Elijah sighed.

Thats when they heard the lift ping, a blonde woman walking in. Could it be the replacement for JJ?

"Ashley." Rossi called her over,"Agent Trainee Seaver, Supervisory Special Agents Morgan, Howards, Prentiss and Deans."

"I've heard so much about you all." Seaver shook their hands.

"Well, I hope it was all good." Morgan smiled.

"Very, sir." She chuckled.

"Anything specific? I mean, about me in particular?" Morgan asked.

"Oh please, don't encourage him." Fleur pushed Morgan.

"Agent Seaver is on loan to us from the Academy while she's in remedial training with an injury." Hotch told them.

"Concussion. Hand-to-hand got a little out of control." Seaver assured them.

"How's the other guy?" Emily raised a brow.

"Don't ask." She chuckled.

"I was remedial from the Academy also." Reid mentioned as he walked over.

"Agent Seaver, Doctor Reid." Rossi introduced them.

"What was your issue?" Seaver asked him.

"What was my issue? Marksmanship, phsycial training, obstacle course, Hogan's Alley, you know, everything that basically wasn't related to books. They ultimately had to make exceptions to allow me into the field." Reid rambled.

"Agent Seaver's going to accompany us to New Mexico." Hotch told them.

"She is?" Elijah blinked.

"As a consultant." Hotch nodded.

"On?" Fleur raised a brow.

"She has a unique perspective." Rossi informed them.

"They don't know?" Seaver turned.

"Well, we weren't sure how you wanted to, uhm.." Rossi looked over at her.

"Seaver's not my original last name. It's my mother's maiden name. Mine used to be Beauchamp. My father is Charles Beauchamp." Seaver sighed.

"As in the Remond Ripper Charles Beauchamp?" Reid raised a brow.

"That's him."

"He killed twenty-five women over ten years in rural North Dakota." Reid explained,"I think that you caught him, right, Rossi?"

"Hotch was on that team too." Rossi nodded.

"Based on her life experience, we were hoping that Agent Seaver might recognize something in the family dynamics inside the community that could be helpful." Hotch explained,"We have a plane waiting."

"She sounds familiar." Fleur nudged Elijah as they walked out.

"Unique perspective, huh?" Elijah rolled his eyes.

"Rossi's picking favourites." Fleur gasped.

"I'm practically his son, how dare he." Elijah crossed his arms.

"Exactly." She chuckled.

*********************************

"Well, the matter of the fact is, 'Beam me up, Scotty' was never actually said. The closest they got was 'Scotty, beam us up' in 'The Gamesters of Triskeleon' and 'The Savage Curtain' episodes, but interestingly enough-" Reid rambled as they pulled up outside the house.

"Reid, come on, give it a rest." Morgan chuckled.

"Detective Ruiz?" Hotch called to the Detective as they walked over.

"That's me." He shook his hand.

"I'm Agent Hotchner."

"Call me Felix."

"These are Agents Morgan, Howards, Prentiss, Dr Reid, Agent Rossi, Agent Deans and Agent Seaver." Hotch introduced them.

"Thanks for coming." Ruiz hummed,"As your tech requested, we moved everything from the station right here into the model home."

"Thank you." He nodded.

"Agent Prentiss, Howards and I would love to take a look around, get a feel for the area." Morgan nodded.

"We'd like to see the latest crime scene, too, if that's possible." Emily added.

"Of course. Let me just get everybody situated and I'll walk you over there." Ruiz nodded.

"We can find it." Fleur hummed.

"You sure?" Ruiz asked.

"Yeah, it's no problem." Morgan assured him.

"They sure aren't the 'mind your own business' types, are they?" Emily commented as she looked at the neighbors watching them as they walked.

"So how come none of them have seen our UnSub?" Morgan raised a brow.

*********************************

Meanwhile, the others began going through the evidence inside the house.

"These are the evidence boards. As you can see, we're still in the process of moving in." Ruiz told them as he removed the cloths that covered the boards to reveal the photos,"I didn't think the whole neighborhood needed to see the photos."

"No, you're right. It's a lot of work, Detective. Thank you." Hotch hummed.

"Colour-coded and annotated." Rossi nodded as he picked up a notebook.

"Yeah, well, I'm not just the primary detecive. I also live in the community."

"Really?" Elijah raised a brow.

"Three blocks right up on the left." He pointed,"My wife thought it would he an excellent place to raise the kids. She changed her opinion in the last couple of months."

"Yeah, I guess so."

"You okay?" Reid asked Seaver who was staring at the board.

"Yeah- Let's get to work." She quickly shook her head.

"I hope you don't mind but I also worked up a cursory profile." Ruiz pulled up some files.

"You did?" Hotch blinked.

"Yeah. I took an FBI seminar on serial crime in Albuquerque. Twice." Ruiz explained.

"Let's hear what you've got so far."

"Alright. He's organised. He took everything to the scene, he left nothing behind. Which means he lives with a spouse or some kind of long term partner. He has a steady, skilled job. Physically he seems non-threatening but he craves power and control. So he may have a job or an activity that gives him that." Ruiz ranted.

"Not bad." Rossi nodded.

"Unfortunately, I just described 64 of the 71 men who live in the subdivision." Ruiz sighed.

*********************************

"They don't have anything? What.. After the second woman was killed, Detective Ruiz said they had evidence." Drew Jacobs pointed.

"The police are doing everything they can." Emily sighed.

"And now you're telling me you have nothing? You have no idea who did this?" He sighed and sat down,"I don't understand how something like this could happen and no one saw or heard anything."

"It's because the kind of person who does this spends their life practicing. And what they're good at is getting away with it." Fleur explained.

"Yeah, well, Aubrey never hurt anybody in her whole life." Drew looked up at them.

"I wish I had answers for you." Emily shook her head, looking at the bag behind him.

Drew turned and picked it up,"It's my daughter. I gotta get her out of here. Everywhere she looks.."

"Where is she now?" Fleur raised a brow.

"She's in her room.. Do you need to talk to her?"

"No, it's alright."

"Sir, the Unsub came through the garage?" Morgan asked as he walked in.

"Yeah. Detective Ruiz said the remote openers in this compound only have five unquie codes. Well, you'd think they'd tell you that when you move in, huh? Anyone could just drive about and open up a fifth of the garage doors. I usually make sure all the inside doors are locked up, but Aubrey stayed up late and.." Drew trailed off.

"We're very sorry for your loss." Emily told him.

"Daddy?" A little girl called from upstairs.

"Uhm, it's my daughter. Can I..?"

"Yeah, of course." Emily nodded.

"Thanks." Drew walked past them and up the stairs.

*********************************

"All that stuff you said about BTK and the Hillside Strangler..It's all in your head?" Seaver asked Reid.

"I have an eidetic memory." Reid nodded.

"So.. You know everything my father did then? I only know what was in the papers and what was I told. I don't have a lot of details." Seaver shrugged.

"What sort of details?" Reid tilted his head.

"I'm sorry, we're working on a case-" Elijah began.

"Agent Seaver. There's going to be a community meeting tonight. We're going to all look for visual clues but I want you specifically to concentrate on family interactions." Hotch walked in.

"Yes, sir." Seaver nodded.

"Chief, we need to have a place to hold a town meeting." Rossi told him.

"Well, there's a church on the east side of the development." He told them.

"Will you have your men notify your residents that they'll be a meeting there tonight? Stress that it's important but not necessary." Hotch nodded.

"We can do that."

"Thank you." Reid hummed.

"6:00 pm." Rossi added.

"Agent Hotchner." Ruiz walked over.

"Sir?" Hotch turned to him.

"I think you should see this. This guy's Frank Morris." Ruiz pointed towards the laptop.

Ruiz played the clip as Hotch walked over, Frank mentioning that he was head of the Neighborhood Watch.

"Now, the profile could include somebody in the Neighbourhood watch, right?"

"It could. We'd have to know more about his activities." Hotch told him.

"Exactly. I'll have him brought in." Ruiz nodded.

"We're going to try something else. Can you make some officers available to run a sign-in table at a community meeting tonight?" Hotch asked as he walked back to the others,"One of the things we're going to be examining is body language in a group environment."

"Body language?"

"It's something that the Unsub won't be able to control, even if he were to try to." Hotch explained.

"Right. Right. I'll have some uniforms detailed to the meeting."

"Will you also tell Brinkman that the Unsub will display something that he can't control?" Hotch crossed his arms.

"Okay." He walked off.

"You think they'll be able to keep that to themselves?" Elijah raised a brow.

"Let's hope not." Hotch sighed.

*********************************

"We just came from the last victim's house. The Unsub used the garage as access. Maybe a remote door opener made to be universal." Morgan told the others as they walked into the church.

"The police are saying it's random, but how could you randomly find a woman so vulnerable? Garcia's going over background again, trying to highlight anyone with tech experience." Fleur explained.

"She's also doing a full work up on Brinkman and Ruiz. They had that kind of access." Hotch informed them,"Has anyone seen Ruiz?"

"I saw him a while ago." Rossi looked up.

"He set up everyone filling out forms, but I haven't seen him since." Reid shook his head.

"We need to ask for help in a different way." Seaver sighed.

"Tell people that we're looking for someone who might've seen something rather than someone who did something." Hotch agreed,"No one thinks that their friends or neighbors are capable of this. We should get started."

"You okay?" Reid looked at Elijah, knowing his hatred for churches.

"I'll be fine." Elijah assured him, but he was averting his eyes from.. Most things around him.

"You've got us here." Fleur assured him.

"I know." Elijah sighed,"I'll be fine."

*********************************

"We're hoping that someone might have seen something and not even realised it. Maybe you have a neighbour who takes out his trash late, works on his car in the garage, anything that might put someone outside at an odd hour and given them the opportunity to see something." Hotch sighed as he spoke to the community.

"Is there anything we can help you look for?" Emily asked Seaver.

"It won't be overt. The kids probably won't be afraid of the dad." Seaver shook her head.

"They won't? These guys have explosive tempers, don't they?" Morgan raised a brow.

"Definitely."

"Anger wasn't normal in my house. Usually when it happened, it exploded, it was an anomaly. A surprise. If anything, my father was overly solicitous. Too nice." Sesver sighed,"And if I wanted anything, bicycles, toys, dolls, all I had to do was ask."

"Nice for some." Elijah muttered.

"That's what I'm saying." Fleur whispered.

"In groups, he always held my hand. Always. Sometimes so tight, it almost cut off the circulation. But I can never remember him putting me on his lap, holding me in any way." She continued.

"My dad gave great hugs." Elijah nudged Fleur.

"Wish mine did." Fleur nudged back.

"Ashley?" Emily looked at her.

"And.. He'd always have these talks with me. He was terrified someone would take me." Seaver sighed.

"Because he knew what was out there." Emily nodded.

"Yeah, men like him." Morgan shook his head.

"You know, maybe this man recently bought gifts for his kids. My dad used to buy me things all the time."

"What kind of gifts?" Emily asked.

"Anything. Everything. I told you, there was nothing.. My whole life, there's only one thing I wanted that I couldn't have."

"Which was?" Elijah raised a brow.

"A pet." Seaver answered.

*********************************

After the meeting, Hotch walked up to the others at the table.

"What have we got?" He asked.

"We're gonna start with the people who didn't show. Cross reference with families with no pets." Emily nodded.

"No pets?" Hotch raised a brow.

"I remembered I wasn't allowed to have a dog or any kind of animal. It was more than a rule. It was a big problem for us." Seaver explained.

"That could be something."

"I'm sorry I couldn't point him out." Seaver sighed.

"We don't expect you to point him out. We're hoping you can help us once we have things narrowed down." Hotch told her.

"Guys, of the sixty-four suspects, eighteen of them didn't show up." Reid walked over.

"Okay, Prentiss, take Ashley back to the model home, go through the eighteen names and add the pet information." Hotch pointed.

"Got it." Emily nodded, walking off.

"Garcia's working on technical backgrounds?"

"Yeah." Morgan sighed.

"Okay, let's get her the eighteen names." Hotch turned to Rossi,"And Ruiz never got here?"

"No. Neither did the Security Chief." Rossi shook his head.

"Okay, as far as I'm concerned, we have twenty no-shows." Hotch crossed his arms.

*********************************

"Reid, where's the list of people who didn't make the meeting?" Morgan asked as they walked into the model home.

"Right here." Reid handed it to him.

"We need to look at all seventy-one files. We need to eliminate suspects our way, not theirs." Hotch pointed.

"Garcia, I got you?" Morgan called her.

"Fingers at the ready." Garcia hummed.

"What's up?" Ruiz asked as he walked over.

"Theres only sixty-seven files here." Reid skimmed through the files,"Where are the other four?"

"Well, one of them is me. And the other three are the victim's husbands." Ruiz explained.

"Why would they automatically be cleared?" Elijah looked up at him.

"Wouldn't they? I mean, if you're going to check them you better check me." Ruiz chuckled.

"We are." Rossi stated.

"Detective, where are the missing files?" Fleur crossed her arms.

"Uh, right over here." Ruiz grabbed them from a table behind him.

"Garcia, we need you to run a few more names. Phillip Long." Rossi began.

"Long has no suspicions on his record, no arrests, and no technology either." Garcia told him.

"Drew Jacobs."

"Drew Jacobs has a couple of arrests for assault when he was younger. I'll get you more details for that in a sec." Garcia paused,"Is this the husband of the woman whose computer I went through?"

"Yeah." Morgan answered.

"She was really unhappy with him, she said he was distant, he left her alone at nights.." Garcia sighed.

"Yeah, wandering around outside." Ruiz nodded.

"Outisde?" Elijah blinked.

"As a matter of fact, before his wife was killed, he was my top suspect." Ruiz admitted.

"Wait, wait. He's an IT expert who travels around the world. Garcia added.

"He's a tech. Alright, thanks, baby girl." Morgan sighed, hanging up.

"What's going on?" Emily looked at them all as she and the chief walked in.

"There was another murder." Fleur sighed.

"What?"

"During the meeting."

"Where's Seaver..?" Emily looked around.

"I'll call her." Hotch nodded before he took out his phone and called her,"Ashley, where are you?"

"Without a doubt, sir." Seaver replied.

"Where are you?"

"Yes, sir."

"Can you get out of there?" Hotch asked, understanding,"Ashley."

"I'm sorry, sir. I can't do that." Seaver answered,"Mr Jacobs said his daughter was frightened, and as soon as I can make her feel better, ill come back."

"Jacobs has her. She has no gun, let's go." Hotch hung up

"Son of a bitch." Ruiz cursed.

*********************************

"Reid's asleep." Fleur sighed, sitting down next to Elijah on the plane.

They got Ashley out safe, Mr Jacobs arrested.

"I know, he's so cute." Elijah hummed.

"Derek's listening to music." Fleur placed her legs over Elijah's.

"So you get to hang out with me instead?"

"If you'd like."

"Well, I'm not going to go sit with our newest friend, am I?" Elijah tilted his head.

"I tried being nice but all she does is talk about her dad." Fleur whispered.

"At least I'm capable of talking about other things." Elijah rolled his eyes.

"And I get it, her dad was a murderer, but so was yours. Everyone on this team has daddy issues."

"And her and her 'unique perspective' was so helpful when she went off on her own."

"And nearly died." Fleur pointed,"At least we go with someone if we're doing something stupid."

"And hey, nearly dying is more fun when it's your boss' fault." Elijah shrugged.

"Exactly."

"Part of me just wants to just, I don't know, rant at her. Tell her she isn't all that."

"You and me both." Fleur sighed.

"Should I? I mean.. Hotch already lectured her." Elijah leaned back in his chair.

"We could wait until the next thing she does."

"If I make it that far."

"Let's just see." She hummed.
