Imagine #22: Animal Shelter

You've been a volunteer in an animal shelter for a while and you're really enjoying your time in there. You love animals to the bones and sometimes you even prefer them more than most of the people you know. You think that somehow they are better than some people in this planet.

Your task is to pet, feed and play with those animals in the shelter and sometimes you're also allowed to check on them. You're an aspiring animal doctor too so it's all good on you.

"Good morning! Welcome to the animal shelter...what can I do for you?" You were currently on the front desk and you said that the moment the door opened. You stared at the person and you suddenly became starstruck. "P-Patrick Stump." You whispered and you know that your face blushed in front of him.

"Um, hi!" He greeted cutely and you just smiled at him.

"W-what can I do for you, Mr. Stump?" You asked, trying to keep your chill. Patrick walked in front of the desk and he's already looking at the animals with amazement in his eyes. He looks so cute while having that expression too.

"Um. I-I'd like to adopt an animal here and I think you can help me with that." He said innocently and excitedly.

"Sure!" You cheerfully answered him.

Patrick smiled and you started to show him homeless animals in there. He was amazed because ge can see the dedication you give in to taking care and grooming these animals and he can also somehow see that these animals likes you very much. You showed him everything ranging from dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters and he honestly couldn't decide now.

"So, for the last one...{your desired pet name for a cat}, she's a munchkin type of cat. Just a normal cat with short chubby legs." You said with a giggle as you get the cat. This one is very special to you somehow because she's the first one you took care since you volunteered there.

The cat purred at rub her head on your hand showing that she really likes you.

"Short chubby legs? I think that cat suits me." Patrick joked and you laughed.

"I didn't mean to sound that way, Mr. Stump. Also, your legs are not chubby." You told him and he playfully shrugged.

You set the cat down on the table and it was first reluctant to go to Patrick, but when he lend out his hand the cat walked over to him and meowed at his touch.

"Seems like she already likes you." You said with a smile. You're happy that this cat will finally get a home, but somehow you're sad since you'll not be with her now.

"She looks so cute. {the name you mentioned}, is her name right? That sure suits her." Patrick said.

You pet the cat again and you smiled at it, probably saying goodbye.

"This was the first cat I ever took care here and I'm so happy that she's finally gonna have a home. And I know that she'll have a wonderful owner." You said while staring at the cat.

Patrick was mesmerized with your compassion and he already liked your attitude. After that you just proceeded with the paper works and adviced him on things that he should do to take care of the cat. After that, Patrick left with the cat having a smile on his face.

*Several Months Later*

"You know what, I'm so happy that I chose this cat." Patrick said while petting the munchkin cat.

The both of you are in a coffee shop, just tallig about the usual things. Since the day he got the cat, he's been visiting the animal shelter so you can check on the cat and also for you.

"Why?" You asked with a smile.

"Well, besides the fact that we both have cute short legs, and the fact that she makes me happy. Because of this cat, I got the reason to visit you often without looking like a creepy stalker." He said which made you blush.

Right after what he said, the cat meowed like its agreeing with what he just said.

"Well, why would you want to visit me often?" You asked playfully, just teasing him.

"Because I like you, of course. Isn't it obvious already?" He said innocently and chuckled. "Since from the moment I met you, I liked you and I think this cat brought us together more." He said still having his gorgeous smile.

"Moew" the cat said that made you both laughed.

"She agrees...and I agree to that you. Looks like I'm not the only one who's having these feelings, huh?" You said and Patrick stared at you in shock. "If you'll ask...yes, I like you too, of course." You said and his face blushed.

You couldn't just believe that this cat in front of you will bring you both together.
