All the other cats had gone to sleep. Pepper just sat there, by the window. She turned to find her mother padding up to her "there's nothing that could have been done" Pepper nodded in agreement before turning her back again. "I have to tell you something, both you and Ace" Pepper's ears perked in interest at her mothers words "What is it?" She asked curiously. Her mother shook her head before slightly turning away to leave "I'll tell you in the morning..." She then disappeared behind some bales of hay.

         Pepper sighed and watched her mother go. She turned back towards the small window and peered out, everything seemed so peaceful, except for a small sliver of movement on the other side of the road. She let out a snort as she realized who it was, her father. Luckily he stayed on his side of the road, choosing not to stray any closer.

        Pepper padded towards a small depression in some loose hay and layed down. I should at least try and sleep she thought to herself. Right as she was about to close her eyes, she heard a small scuffling only a few bales away. The scent of mouse flooded her nose as she crept closer to the small creature. Her mouth watered as she imagined the smooth taste. Swiftly she pounced clumsily killing the mouse before it could escape.

         "I did it!!" Pepper mewed in triumph as she put the dead mouse down at her paws. I should give this to Ruby she thought gruffly padding in the direction of her mother. She jumped over a small half bale and prodded her sleeping mother "Mom!" She mewed excitedly "Mom! I got one!" Ruby stirred at the sudden words and blinked her eyes open sleepily. She let out a proud purr and rasped her tongue gaily over her daughters head. "How wonderful! You should have it..." Pepper sat down, maybe her mom didn't want any, she slowly bit into it, a relishing taste filled her mouth.

         Pepper took her last bite and proceeded to clean out her pelt. Ruby sat up as well stretching out her back. "It's almost dawn..." She murmured looking in the direction of a window. Ruby slowly padded over to were Ace was sleeping and prodded him softly "Wake up..." She murmured. The young tom got to his paws and let out a discomforted grunt "What do you want?" He muttered aggresivly turning away.

         "Come... you too Pepper" Ruby mewed flicking her tail towards a labrinth of hay bales "What about Bonny?" Pepper mewed following after "she has no need to hear this" Ruby answered dissmisivly. She disappeared between some hale bales, Ace following her. Pepper stepped into a small pocket, hay bales towering above her head.

         "Now I must tell you something" Ruby mewed looking sternly at both of her kits "I cant risk loosing the both of you like I lost Shiloh" Ruby paused for a brief moment and Peppers ears flickered in acknowledgement "I have made a decision.... that we are leaving" Ace's eye widened in horror "but were are we going to go!!!!" He cried sticking his face close to his mothers. To Pepper it wasn't an awful idea... to her it was marvelous, it would be an adventure!

         "Hush now..." Ruby mewed flicking her tail at Ace "Bonny is not to know, we will be leaving once she falls asleep" and with that Ruby padded out of the hay bales with nothing more to say. "Wow!" Pepper mewed happily "This is gonna be great!" Ace gave her a scournful look and turned away "Not without Shiloh" he whispered. Pepper nodded in agreement, without Shiloh it wouldn't be nearly as fun. But they would have to move on eventually.

          Pepper placed her tail on her brothers shoulder "I promise it will be alright..." She mewed "Im sure mom will take care of us" Ace look towards her his eyes glittered with a little determination. "I guess your right" he mewed "maybe we'll even find Shiloh..."
