"Hey, cranky cat man?" Danny asked as he pulled on the sleeve of his guardian who was making popcorn.

"I'm not responding until you call me by my actual name" was the monotone response he got.

Danny pouted before responding with his actual name.
"Fine, hey Aizawa? I and half the class are planning a sleepover but we don't know any place big enough to hold all of us. Do you think Uncle Yamada or Aunt Nemuri would let us stay at their place?"

"First off, since when did you start calling them aunt and uncle?"

"Since they bribed me with-"

"Muffins?"

"Yup"

"I swear I'm going to kill those two.." Aizawa grumbled under his breath as the first popcorn kernel popped.

"Which one was it?? Mine??" Danny peered over the covered pan to see which kernel popped first.

"Nope, mine, looks like I'll be the one picking out the movie" Aizawa fondly shook his head as Danny pouted and picked up pebbles. Aizawa poured the rest of the popcorn kernels in the pan then turned around to face his kid.

"Anyways, you'll have to ask them yourself. They'll be watching you tomorrow night during my patrol so you can ask them then" The underground hero said, ruffling Danny's hair. Pebbles meowed and nuzzled the hero's hand. Aizawa picked up on her hint and began to pet her fur. She nuzzled up against Danny and began to purr. Danny smiled and closed his eyes, admiring the softness of his Lil baby's fur.

He would die for pebbles.

His eyes snapped open when he smelled something burning.
"Is the popcorn burning?"

"Mm.. yeah" Aizawa mumbled back, still focused on petting pebbles. His eyes then widened in realization.
"Oh shit-" with many grumbled curses, Aizawa turned around and grabbed hold of the popcorn pan.

"Is it salvageable?" Danny put pebbles down who immediately ran to her cat tree. Aizawa grumbled out curses as he dumped the burnt popcorn in the trash can.

"Son of a bitch, that was the last of the popcorn"

"I can run to the store real quick while you-"

"Absolutely not"

"But whyyyyy" Danny pouted, he was nearly 14 he could go to the store by himself.

"Because the last time I let you go to the store by yourself you almost got kidnapped" The tired hero deadpanned.

"Oh... oh yeah" Yeah that was a pretty good reason. The two were quiet for a moment, pondering whether or not to go shopping at 9 pm or just watch a movie without popcorn.

"Do you think Auntie Nemuri or Uncle Yamada have any popcorn?" Danny asked after a moment.

"Just how many muffins did they give you?" Aizawa's lip quirked up in amusement at how much his kid loved muffins. He knows what he's getting his kid for his birthday that's for sure. The kid had mentioned that he hasn't really celebrated his birthday since he was four so he's gonna make sure his 14th birthday will be an awesome one.

"Like two each, but I like calling them that. My aunt wasn't that nice to me and the closest person I had to an uncle was.. well.. weird?" Crazy? Psychotic? Obsessed with dissecting him so he could find out a way to get his quirk? He didn't want to get into that right now.

Alarm bells arose in Aizawa's brain as he heard his kid talk about his 'uncle'. He got the hint that Danny didn't want to talk about it right then so Aizawa didn't push him to.

"Well, I'm pretty sure they're gonna love you calling them Auntie and Uncle then, I can already see Yamada sobbing with joy" They both laughed as they made their way into the living room. Danny had swiped two juice pouches so they could snack on them during the movie instead.

Aizawa decided to play something he knew Danny would like. Sure enough, as soon as the intro to Ghost Busters came on Danny smiled in excitement. Aizawa wanted to laugh at the fact that the ghost-like teens' favorite movie was a movie about defeating ghosts.

As the movie went on, Aizawa's train of thought wandered off to the conversation they had at the hospital.

"Hey, Dad?" Aizawa paused, a little surprised, after a second to see if the kid realized what he said. After a bit, he smiled and answered.

"Yeah, kid?"

The kid had called him dad, sure he may not have realized it but he still called him that. He wasn't sure how to bring it up to him without embarrassing him. He knew the kid's biological dad was an absolute asshole so he didn't have a father figure growing up. Hell, Aizawa didn't have one growing up either so he was pretty surprised when Yamada told him he made a pretty good dad.

"You know what Shouta?" Yamada said after Danny had gone to bed and Aizawa had gotten back from patrol.

"What?" Aizawa yawned out, extremely tired from fighting criminals all night. He untangled his capture gear and put it away as Yamada went on with his sentence.

"You make a pretty good dad for the kid, it's obvious he's never really had a father to be there for him so I'm really happy you've taken on that role for him" The loud-mouth hero was being uncharacteristically serious.

Aizawa couldn't help but smile at his best friend's words. He did feel protective over the kid and wanted to do his best to be there for him since the kid didn't have anybody to do that. He grew up around shitty people and Aizawa wanted to get him away from that environment. He ended up thinking of the kid as his son along the way.

"Thanks, Yamada"

Aizawa looked back over at Danny who was enjoying the film. Pebbles had made her way over and was now sitting in between them, head resting on Danny's lap.

Once the movie was finished, Aizawa turned off the T.V. Danny sat up and yawned, stretching his arms and legs out. Aizawa was quiet for a moment before he opened his mouth.

"Do you remember at the hospital where you called me Dad?" Blunt and straight to the point, very Aizawa style. Probably not a good thing since it caused the kids ' faces to go red in embarrassment.

"I-I did!?" The kid turned into a big stuttering mess of anxious and embarrassed mutters.

"I-I'm sorry! Oh, my muffins that embarrassing- did I just say oh my muffins?? I'm sorry! Did it make you uncomfortable?! Should I-" Aizawa quickly cut the kid off before his mumbles grew worse. Jeez, the kid was acting like problem child.

"Kid no, you don't have to apologize. I was only bringing it up because of what you said about calling the two annoyances Aunt and Uncle since you never really had good ones growing up" Aizawa explained, trying to calm him down. Danny's face returned to somewhat normal color as he listened to Aizawa.

"I know you didn't have the best dad growing up, and I do think of you as my son;" at that, Danny perked up a bit, eyes widening in surprise. It hurt Aizawa a bit to see such a surprised look on his face. Like he didn't think he would ever have someone to care about him like that.

"R-Really?" Danny asked, eyes brimming with happy tears. Aizawa gave him a gentle smile.

"Of course, kid. If, if you want to call me Dad you can" Aizawa wasn't the best with these types of situations but judging by the happy and relieved look on his kid's faces he did well. The hug he received was a good enough response to get what the kid was thinking. Aizawa returned the hug. The two stayed like that for a moment before pulling away.

"Now c'mon kid, it's way past your bedtime" Aizawa winced a bit once he saw the time.

Well, he'll have to work on the whole parenting thing a bit it seems.
