Trekking through a nightly walk, Shuriken comes across a rather pitiful sight, opting to lend an assist.

AKA; Shuri finds Valk Flipside getting mugged at night and brings him home

They're aged down 6 years
Shuriken: 16
Valk: 18
Do the math for everyone else

Walking through one of Thieves' Den's countless nature parks, Shuriken sighed. He couldn't sleep again, opting to take a nightly walk. He did this fairly often, finding comfort in the nightly chill. Despite not being well known in his faction, most muggers are easily threatened at the sight of a gear demon.

Strolling along the dirt path under a canopy of floral trees, Shuriken perked up. Stopping in his tracks, the ninja listened silently.

Picking up voices, the green demon approached, peering through the growth to see two hooded figures. One was rather short, having their hands in the air. The other was much taller, holding a knife to the smaller's chest. Another robbery.

"I'm telling you, I don't have anything on me!" The smaller demon pleaded, their back pressed against a tree.

"Hah! Yeah right! Empty your pockets, runt." The robber's voice was squeaky with age. Must be a young teen.

Yawning, Shuriken stepped out of hiding, pulling his gear from the pouch strapped carefully to his arm. "Let it rest, kid. Don't want this to get messy, do we?" Shuriken's eyes gleamed in the moonlight, his horns glowing amongst the darkened setting.

The robber took a step back, pushing the smaller demon to the ground with a growl. "You got lucky." They spit, turning and fleeing the scene.

"You 'kay?" Shuriken asks, placing his gear carefully back in the pouch, holding his hand out to help the demon up.

"Yeah, thanks." Taking Shuriken's hand with hesitance, the demon stands, Shuriken noticing a mask covering the lower part of his face. They wore a simple hoodie, it was obvious they were trying to keep attention away from them.

"Gotta be careful 'round 'Den at night, bud. How old are you?" Slightly leaning down, Shuriken examines the slightly shaking demon in front of him.

"Uhm," they look to the side, avoiding eye contact, "I'm 18. Why?"

"Older than me! You're 'bout the size of like... 13." Smirking, the ninja straightens his posture, "you should get home."

Rolling their eyes, they cross their arms, "I know I'm short." They huff in annoyance, "don't have to point it out. How old are you?"

"I'm 16." Shuriken answers, "man, I can't even tell if you're a boy or girl, or neither." Examining the demon, he's a bit conflicted on their gender. Their form gives no obvious indications, and everything else is hidden with cloth.

"I'm a guy, thanks." Scoffing, the masked demon takes a slight step back from Shuriken, obviously nervous.

"You're not from here." Blinking, Shuriken stepped closer, his eyes narrowing. "Looks sketchy to be dressed like this in a place you don't reside. Why are you here? Who are you?"

Stiffening, the demon's nerves grow. "I'm just here on a walk! Why's it matter to you? Shouldn't you be getting back home to your parents?"

"Don't have none." Shuriken dead panned before continuing, "you didn't answer who you are." Reaching out, he grabbed the demon's hood, threatening to pull it down.

"NO!" Jolting back, the demon trips over a root, causing him to fall to the ground as he grips onto his hood, keeping it pulled up. "Don't touch me!"

"I just want to know who you are and why you're here!" Growling in annoyance, Shuriken kneels down in front of the demon, almost straddling his lap as he grabs the boy's hood, trying to tug it off. "You're in my faction, I don't want any outsiders tryna steal from demons you can't steal from!"

"I'm not a thief!" Hissing, the demon shoved Shuriken away, scrambling back until he was pressed against a tree. "Stay away from me! I just wanted to get away from everything, I'll leave!" With growing emotions, tears filled his eyes as he started to cry, hiding his face with his sleeves.

Sighing, Shuriken rolled his eyes, "so dramatic! Just tell me your name and I'll leave you alone! That's all I want to know." Moving closer once more, Shuriken sat on his knees in front of the overwhelmed demon.

"F-Fine!" Giving in, the demon uncovers his face, staring into the ninja's eyes, "Valk. Valk Flipside."

"See! Now was that so hard?" Voice dripping in sarcasm, it hadn't even clicked that he was in front of one of the members of the newest popular idol duos in Crossroads. "My name's Shuriken." Introducing himself to not be rude, Shuri holds his hand out for Valk to shake.

Glaring at him, Valk sniffles as he slowly reaches out to shake the ninja's hand, "you're not gonna... go crazy or freak out?" He asks slowly.

"No? Why would I?" Blinking in confusion, Shuriken stood up. "I just wanted to know who you were." He shrugs, "you really should get home though, the thieves only get worse with the night." Reaching his hand out to help the idol stand once more, Shuriken offered him a smile.

Taking a deep breath, Valk took a few moments to collect himself, trying to process that Shuriken wasn't going to do anything irrational. Reaching up, he took the ninja's hand, standing.

As soon as Valk was pulled to his feet, he instantly fell onto Shuriken with a grunt of pain, the ninja quickly grabbing the demon to stabilize him. "What? You hurt or somethin'?"

Mumbling a few curses, Valk looked up to meet Shuriken's eyes. "I think I twisted my ankle when I fell." Looking down at his foot that was lifted slightly off the ground, gripping onto Shuriken for support.

"Oh. My sister can heal, I can bring you back to my place so she can check it out." Holding onto Valk's waist so he doesn't fall, Shuri silently pleads for his sister to be in an okay mood when he wakes her up.

"I should be fine to manage." Slowly putting his foot on the ground, Valk winces at the slightest bit of pressure, his grip on Shuriken's shirt tightening. "Nevermind—how far is it?"

"Just a few streets down. I can carry you." Without giving Valk a chance to decline, Shuriken scoops him up bridal style, earning a yelp from the smaller demon.

"Put me down! It's not broken, I can walk on my own!" Protesting against the embarrassment, Valk squirms in the ninja's grasp. It's no use.

"Stay still, and hold on, I'll get us there faster." Shifting Valk so he's carrying him with one arm, Shuriken now holds his grapple in his free hand, walking down a path to a better spot to aim.

Surprised at the green demon's strength, Valk is silently aware of Shuriken's sleeper build. Wrapping his arms around Shuriken's neck, the idol didn't want to take any chances with whatever this kid was about to do.

Holding his grapple up, Shuriken pinpoints the corner of the tall roof. Throwing the rope, Valk doesn't even have a second to process what was going on before the two were flying through the air, landing smoothly on a rooftop almost as quickly as it started.

Frozen in shock and fear, Valk stayed silent as he gripped Shuriken's shirt for dear life, pressing himself against the younger boy.

"You alright there?" Shuriken asks with a smirk, looking down at the obviously terrified idol. "Didn't know you were afraid of heights!" Seamlessly jumping from roof to roof, Shuriken had obviously taken this route time and time again.

"Thanks for the warning." Valk spits with a growl, shrinking into Shuriken's side. He wanted to cry. Valk was so confused and overwhelmed at the events that occurred that night, he couldn't even express his emotions into thoughts.

Jumping from a roof, Valk squeaks as they land on the ground in front of a house. It wasn't anything special, just the average everyday Thieve's Den house. "Here we are." Shuriken announces, walking up the steps and into the unlocked door. Who keeps their door unlocked?

Slipping off his shoes at the entrance, Shuriken kicks them to the side, carrying Valk through the small hallway into the lounge. Placing the smaller demon on the couch, he basically yanks Valk's shoes off.

"Ow!" Wincing as Shuriken basically pulled his pained ankle, Valk hissed. "Why are you taking my shoes?"

"No shoes allowed in the house, common courtesy." Rolling his eyes, Shuriken sprinted to place Valk's shoes in the foyer before coming back. "I'll go wake up my sister. Sit tight!" Giving a thumbs up to Valk, the ninja took a deep breath before sauntering through a hallway.

Stopping in front of a door, Shuriken knocked, cracking it open. "Vine?" He called hesitantly.

"..What, Shuriken?" A grumbling voice was heard, Shuriken spotting his sister rubbing her eyes while sitting up to stare at him.

"Well, I might've found someone on my little walk, and he may or may not be a little hurt. It's just a twisted ankle I think so if you want it can wait 'till tomorrow, or you can come help him now!" Talking rather fast, Shuriken smiled nervously. His sister could be a bit aggressive when it came to being woken up.

Taking a few moments to process what was said, Vine Staff yawns. "I'll check it out." Clambering out of bed, she rubbed the sleep from her eyes before grabbing a robe and pulling it on. "Where are they?" She asks, taking her staff from the wall as she exits her room.

"On the couch." Shuriken grins, leading his sister into the lounge. "This is Vine Staff, my sister." Introducing his sibling, Shuriken sits beside Valk who now has his hood and mask off.

"Uh, hi." Greeting her awkwardly, Valk gives his best nervous smile. It's horrible. "I hope I'm not disturbing you."

Vine Staff stares at Valk for several moments, processing the fact there's an idol on her couch. "..It's no worries. Which ankle is it?" Kneeling beside Valk's legs, she carefully grabs the one that the demon lifted, using careful fingers to verify there was nothing broken.

Scrunching his face in pain as Vine Staff moved his ankle, Valk grabbed onto Shuriken's arm, his claws digging into the skin.

"Ow!" Shuriken winced, Vine Staff glaring daggers at him. A silent command to let Valk abuse his arm.

"It's definitely sprained, possibly a tear too." Speaking with a soft voice, Vine Staff took her gear. "It'll take self healing, but I can help numb the pain and speed up the process."

"Whatever you deem best." Voice strained in pain, Valk lets out a shaky exhale as a transparent flower buds and blooms on his ankle, numbing it almost instantly. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Vine Staff smiles, standing up. "You can stay here, at least 'til the morning. I'll give you an ankle brace as well tomorrow to aid your healing. Don't put any pressure on the foot and keep it propped up."

"You can sleep in my bed since it is kinda my fault you sprained it in the first place." Scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, Shuriken avoided his sister's questioning gaze.

Valk nods, quickly releasing Shuriken's arm as he realized he still held it. "Thank you."

"I'm going back to bed. Call me if you need anything. And Shuri, for SFOTH's sake, don't wake up Sling." With a sigh, Vine Staff trudged back to her room, desperate to resume her slumber.

"C'mon." Standing up and lifting Valk into his arms once more, Shuriken made his way to his room, setting the yellow demon onto his bed. His room wasn't dirty but it wasn't clean either, a few clothes and various items scattered carelessly around. "Do you need any clothes to change into, or are you fine in that?"

"I'm fine in this." Blinking with discomfort, Valk quickly took his hoodie off, yellow wings expanding behind him. "Where are you going to sleep?"

"Uh, probably on the couch." Shuriken shrugged. He didn't really care where he slept if he was honest.

"Oh." Valk turned his gaze to the floor, slightly kicking his legs before taking a phone out of his pocket.

"Such a dry response! Anyways, is there anything else you need for tonight?"

"Is your bed clean?" Voice hinted with playful sarcasm, Valk seemed to be texting someone before tossing his phone on the bed beside him.

"Yes! It is clean! My bedding was actually just washed earlier, no one's even been on my bed since I put 'em on." Huffing, Shuriken crossed his arms. "Go to sleep."

"Yeah yeah! Don't rush me. But thanks for this, Shuriken. I appreciate your hospitality." Valk smiles at the ninja in front of him before turning his head away, a bit embarrassed.

"Don't mention it. I'm sorry 'bout your ankle too." Shuriken awkwardly scratched the back of his neck, "well, I'll leave you to rest now." Turning to leave the room, Shuriken fails to notice some random gear equipment on the floor, tripping and falling into one of the shelves in his room, causing a loud crash.

Valk quickly covers his mouth, desperately holding back a laugh as Shuriken lays silently on the floor, half burried under various pieces of junk.

A few moments pass before a loud "SHURIKEN." is heard from a nearby room.

Shuffling into the middle of the bed, Valk watched in amusement as a new demon appeared, slamming the door open, dressed in a blue nightgown.

"What the hell's goin' on in here?!" The demon unknown to Valk huffs, gaze flickering between Shuriken and Valk. "Is that fuckin' Valk Flipside???"

"Mornin' Slingshot!" Shuriken coughs, lifting himself from the pile of items, pushing his fallen shelf to the side.

Slingshot's confusion only grows as he turns his head, screaming at a face beside him. "WHAT THE HELL?!"

Shuriken snickered as he stood up, watching his brother stare at their mentor with wide eyes. "Apologies, Slingshot. I did not mean to startle you." Katana apologizes, taking a step back from the feline demon. "What happened?"

"Uhm, I was walking and fell." Shuriken explains simply, rubbing a forming bruise on his back.

"Well yeah we can see that, but why is there a fucking IDOL in your bed?!" Slingshot points at Valk who nervously fidgets with his hands as the attention is shifted onto him.

"Oh. Yeah that's Valk. He's stayin' the night." The ninja shrugs as if it was the most casual thing in the world.

"This house is a fucking fever dream." Deciding not to question his brother any longer, Slingshot stalks off to go back to his room.

"Are you hurt, Shuriken?" Katana asks, stepping forward to grab the ninja's shoulder.

"Nah, I'm fine. You can go back to sleep, sorry for wakin' you." Shuriken shakes his head, pushing the older demon's hand away.

"If you insist. Sleep well." Taking his leave, Katana turns away, his footsteps as silent as ever as he makes his way back to bed.

"Well! That was Slingshot, my brother and Katana, our mentor and unofficial caretaker!" Turning to face Valk, Shuri quickly fills the yellow demon in.

"Uhm, okay. I'll remember that." Valk nods in understanding, blinking.

"I'll be going now, bathroom is directly across the hall. If you need anything just wake me up."

"Alright, thanks."

"Goodnight, Valk! Sleep well." Shuriken smiles, turning off the light as he leaves the room, shutting the door behind himself.

Making his way to the couch, the ninja flopped onto it, quickly getting comfortable as he settled down to sleep.

It was so normal to have an idol in your bed only an hour after meeting him.

Not in that way.

Freak.
