A/n: I just want to say thank you for letting this story hit 2K reads and it's crazy how so many people actually liking and taking the time to read this story fatefully so I'm post this chapter!!!

Starfire

Cyborg and I followed Robin down the path of the diner. Robin was throwing things like his new bombs and things around the pathway to slow my and Cyborg down. I flew down the hallways I realized that the walls was a black color not really fitting the theme of the diner. There was picture frames hanging on the walls. The frames were filled with Slade's image. At the bottom of the picture it says "Slade, Earth's new ruler," in red scary letters.

"Star start shooting stuff down to Robin!" Cyborg ordered as he was getting his gun canon ready to shoot.

"But you said not to attack him nor Phoenix?" I questioned with worry, wanting to not hurt Robin.

"We're not going to hurt him this way just shoot stuff that's in front of him so we can end this chase!"

I sighed following the orders of Cyborg. I got my green starbolts starting explosions in front of Robin. Robin dodged them with ease like he can foresee this happening.

"Cyborg it's not the working?" I replied as I continue to fly after him.

"I hate to say this but I guess we have to attack him," Cyborg replied pointing his cannon at Robin.

"No we do not attack friend Robin, like you said before!" I ordered causing Cyborg to stop running after Robin because I'm standing in front of him.

"Star move out of the way!"

"NOOOOO!"

"MOVE!"

Before I could say no again Robin attacked us from behind. I was tumbling on ground and I slide to finish my tumbling. My long red hair was in my face and I heard heavy metal footsteps coming towards me. Moving my head and eyes up I see Robin still under the control of Slade as he was about to shoot me with a red infrared beam.

"Robin I know you are in there can you please fight Slade's control over you! I know you can do it because I believe in you!" I told Robin hoping he can hear me and break the control over Slade.

There was a long pause between us and the red beam still pointed towards me burning bright with every second that Robin was holding it. Finally using the opportunity to get up off the ground to find Cyborg doing the same thing. I flew over to Cyborg as he was rubbing his neck.

"So what is Robin doing standing like a statue for?" Cyborg questioned looking at him from the side.

"I'm not sure Friend Cyborg maybe I got the through to him in my talk with him," I said worriedly.

"Only one way to find out,"

Beast Boy

Me and Raven was following right behind Phoenix. The power of the lights cut off and then back on showing Raven and I two Phoenix flying side-by-side.

"Raven how are going to know which Phoenix is the real Phoenix?" I questioned as I changed into a cheetah.

"Let me find out!" Raven replied as her eyes turned back with her hands on the temples of her forehead as she was still flying in the air. "Dang it Phoenix!"

"What's wrong?" I said changing back to my human form and back into a cheetah once I was done asking my question.

"They both have the aura of the real Phoenix,"

Soon the two Phoenix went through two different openings causing me and Raven to stop our tracks and look at the two opening. I see two signs saying the real Phoenix going to the right and left directions. Both of the openings were dark and you couldn't see nothing in there but you know one of the real Phoenix is inside one of the openings but which one.

"I'll take the left opening and you take the right, if you know that's the real Phoenix let me know," Raven informed me with a serious look on her face.

"Alright got it!" I said turning into a tiger, parting ways with Raven.

I walked through the still dark opening of the left side path when I saw a light shining down on a pile of black and purple ashes. I stopped a few feet away from the ashes, transforming out of a tiger. It was quiet in the room, too quiet for Slade having control over this situation, and too quiet for a pile of ashes to be sitting in the middle of the room. The ashes slowly started to shake as it was picking up speed. The opening to the left side start to shake creating a loud rock noise blocking the only exit in the room. Debris from the ceiling was coming down on in tiny pieces.

The ashes started to swirl and it started to form a pair of feet along with body part of a human being. Once the body was made by the ashes the color flourished the black and purple ashes of Phoenix. Once the color was on Phoenix, as the bird screeched loudly spreading its wings. The Phoenix soar around the room and then inside of Phoenix.

"Phoenix what are you doing?" I asked Phoenix coming closer to her.

Phoenix didn't say nothing but just stared at me. Phoenix's eyes glance to the ceiling and then back at me. That's when I felt a force knocking me to the ceiling, landing down hard to the ground. I groaned slowly getting to my knees when another force knocked me to the rough edged wall of the room. I screamed on contact with the wall and landed back down but harder this time. Slowly getting back to my knees and look at Phoenix with pain in my eyes.

"Phoenix...... why are you...... doing this?" I questioned her still on my knees.

"Get up and fight," Phoenix said with no emotion in her eyes nor face.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me, get up and fight!"

"I will not fight you because you are my friend! Why would I fight my friend,?"

Phoenix held her hand up, lifting me up from the ground. She then moved her hand in a fist and I felt a tight grip around me. I yelled in pain trying to get out of Phoenix's hold.

Phoenix

My insides were hurting for putting this pain on Beast Boy but I have too in order to them safe. I brought Beast Boy close to me so we were face to face.

"If you won't fight me then I will have to fight you," I said gritting my teeth.

"Why do you want to fight me?" Beast Boy asked as he was staring at me with a sad face.

"To protect people that are important to me,"

"Who are you protecting? Is it me, the Titans, or Cerberus?"

"DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT, JUST KNOW THEY WILL BE SAFE!"

"Phoenix..... let go of Slade and just come back with us with Robin out of Slade's control,"

"I would love too, believe me I would but I have protect people and I don't need them hurt,"

Beast Boy just stared at me with worry and sadness. While he was staring at me, I moved my hand smiling a little once what I had to do is done. I squeezed Beast Boy as tight as I could to make him unconscious. I lowered the block that blocked the entrance throwing the unconscious Beast Boy out of the room. I sighed with relief until I heard the footsteps of Slade.

"What was that and did you set Robin free from my control?" Slade asked calmly.

"No I didn't and I was showing mercy," I replied walking away from Slade.

Then I felt this sharp pain flowing through my body. I screamed as my knees connect to the hard, cold floor of the room. I turned my head slowly and see Slade was going to smack me with his hand up. Slade's hand made impact with my cheek as he started to beat me up.

"Don't ever pull that stunt again and we don't show mercy to our enemies!" Slade said as he was beating me.

He is just like my Father and I'll never be someone's puppet..... ever again. Robin, you are free from Slade's control but now it's my turn to be free.

"Now get up so we can go back home," Slade said with his hands behind his back.
