The Grand Canyon, Arizona

The south rim of the Grand Canyon. I couldn't travel half the world to Las Vegas and not venture out to see this incredible place. For anyone thinking this is just a big hole in the ground, it's more than that: it's majestic, breath taking and you can't take your eyes off it.
Some facts I learnt:
1) It's 18 miles to the other side but looks about 2 miles because human depth perception totally fails.
2) The north rim is 1000ft higher than the south but looks completely level!
3) There is an elevated spot nearby where you can see the merest curvature of the horizon.

I caught this crow flying overhead and though it was a great shot.
