(violet's outfit for the first part of the chapter)

Violet loved having a house to herself. Sure, it got lonely sometimes, but most of the time, it was nice. But the downside is she had to do things herself like cleaning and cooking. It wasn't horrible, but sometimes it was hard. Especially cooking. So, she would mostly have takeout or microwave meals. Sometimes, she would go to the Fuller house and eat there which was usually the case. Currently she was watching Supernatural. She loved this show, she hadn't finished it yet, she kept getting distracted and forgetting to watch.

"Man, Dean's so hot." Violet muttered as she watched a scene of him on the show.

It was also a pro that she lived alone since could say things like that out loud and no one would judge her. It's not that she cared, but it was nice not to have anyone teasing her. She suddenly heard the front door open, causing her scream out with surprise and to grab the closest thing to her for a weapon which happened to be the remote control. "Who's there?!" She demanded.

"Relax, it's just me." Stephanie reassures her, walking into the house and closing the door behind her. "Don't knock me out with a remote." She teased.

"Oh, it's just you." Violet sighs in relief. "What are you doing here?" She asks curiously, tossing the remote on the couch and sitting back down. "And how did you get in? It was locked..." She pauses as she tries to remember if she locked it or not. "I think."

"I used the spare key." Stephanie reminds her, showing her the spare key she had gotten from the hiding place. "It's not that hard to find. And I just wanted a place to relax. There's too much going on at my house. They're ruining my relaxing Sunday."

"As if you do anything else." Violet scoffed.

"Hey, I do things." Stephanie retorts, sitting on the couch by her and setting the books she had on the coffee table. She glances at the tv after hearing what was playing and she grins. "Ah, fellow Supernatural lover I see. Who's your favorite brother? Sam or Dean? Personally, I have a soft spot for Sam."

"Dean, obviously. You have to be blind not to think he's hot." Violet replied with a grin, her face turning red.

"That's true." Stephanie chuckles. "He's a total babe."

"You're welcome to stay and watch. I have a feeling you would do that without my permission anyway." Violet teased.

"Awe, you know me so well." Stephanie smiles at her. "And thanks, that would be awesome."

The two of them relax on the couch, watching Supernatural as the episode played. They occasionally commented about the show, making jokes. It was nice for both of them, to be able to relax and not have to deal with anyone. It was a peaceful morning and they wouldn't have had it any other way. But suddenly Stephanie got a phone call from DJ, saying that she needed Stephanie to come back over to watch Tommy and his friends because Cosmo had swallowed a corn cob and they needed to bring him to the vet. Violet didn't hesitate to join Stephanie to head over next door, planning to go with DJ and the others to support them. She knew Max must feel awful about Cosmo swallowing a corn cob, thinking it was his fault.

So now Violet sat by Jackson at the vet clinic as they waited for Cosmo to go into surgery. Max was knelt by Cosmo when Matt stepped out of the room. Jackson had informed her he had stopped by as they were biking since his girlfriend needed to use the bathroom. Things made a lot more sense because Violet was confused with why Matt was wearing biker shorts. He had changed his shirt when he got to the vet clinic, but the biker shorts were still there.

Matt walks over to Max, kneeling down by him with an iPad that showed an X-Ray of Cosmo's stomach. "Well, there is definitely a corn cob in Cosmo's belly."

Max stares at it with confusion. "That's not the one I threw. Mine was yellow."

"We're just gonna make a little incision and take it out." DJ reassured him.

Max's eyes widen. "You're going to cut Cosmo open?" He asks worriedly as Matt stands up. "Don't do it!" He says in a panicked tone. "Cut me open instead!"

"How's that gonna help?" Jackson asks, wincing when Violet hit his shoulder. "Ow! What was that for?"

"Be a bit more sensitive, will you?" Violet scolds him, narrowing her eyes at him. "He's stressed out about Cosmo."

"You're right, cut Jackson!" Max decided, pointing at Jackson, who stared at him with offense.

"How about we don't do that." Violet quickly chimed in as a worried look formed on her face.

"Max, relax, okay?" DJ said softly, crouching down to her son's height. "We're gonna put Cosmo to sleep, it won't hurt him a bit."

Max nods and kneels down by Cosmo, wrapping an arm around him. "Cosmo? I'm sorry. I'm your doggy daddy and I let you down." He then leaned over and hugged Cosmo. Violet smiled softly, her heart warmed as she watched them.

"Come on, boy." Matt took the leash and guided Cosmo back to the examination room.

"Hey, don't worry, Max, okay? He's gonna be fine." DJ said reassuringly, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"He better be. Cosmo's my best friend in the whole world." Max spoke with a frown.

As he walked away to sit down, DJ takes a deep breath. "Okay, no pressure." She muttered.

"You got this, DJ." Violet commented, sending her a thumbs up with a smile.

DJ glances at her with a grateful smile. "Thanks." She walked towards the examination room, leaving Violet with the boys. Violet looked over at Max, who curled up in a chair across from her and Jackson. She was worried for him, she knew he must be beating himself up about Cosmo.

"Hey, Max?" Violet calls out to him, walking over to the boy and crouching down in front of him. "Listen, you did nothing wrong, okay? Accidents happen and I'm sure Cosmo will be okay." She said reassuringly, a small smile forming on her face. "So don't beat yourself up. It's not healthy."

"How can I not beat myself up, Violet?" Max asks, a sad look on his face. "If Cosmo dies, it's all my fault."

"Cosmo's not going to die, Max." Violet reassures him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "And even if something did happen, it wouldn't be your fault. Sometimes things just happen, and it's nobody's fault. What's important is that you care about Cosmo and you're here for him now. That's what makes you a great doggy daddy."

Max's eyes widen, a surprised expression on his face. "I am?"

Violet smiles and nods. "Of course, you are." She ruffles his hair, smiling when she noticed his smile. "Cosmo's going to be just fine. He's a strong dog."

Max nods, looking at her with a grateful expression. "Thanks, Violet. I needed that."

"Anytime." Violet says, smiling as she stood up. She sits back down next to Jackson, glancing at him. "Well, this isn't exactly how I imagined this day would go. I was binge watching Supernatural again."

Jackson chuckles, shaking his head. "I'm not surprised."

"Hey, it's a great show." Violet defended, playfully shoving him.

"Oh, I'm not arguing with you. It's a great show." Jackson agrees, putting his hands up. "But I'm pretty sure you've watched it so many times you could recite every line by heart."

Violet laughs, nudging him with her elbow. "Maybe you're right. But hey, it never gets old."

"Yeah, I guess not." Jackson smiles, glancing over at Max. "Thanks for talking to him, by the way. He really needed that."

"No problem." Violet says with a shrug. "I just want him to be okay. I hate seeing him upset. And you know, Cosmo is a great dog. I'd hate to see anything happen to him."

"Me too." Jackson sighs. "But thank you for being here, Vi. You didn't have to."

"Of course, I had to." Violet says, nudging him with her elbow. "You're my best friend, Jax. I'll always be there for you."

"Same here, Vi." Jackson replies with a smile and nudges her back. "I'm glad you're here."

The waiting continues and Violet hated it. It was making her anxious and worried and she could tell Max was getting more nervous the longer they had to wait. He was now pacing and his pacing wasn't helping her anxiety. "Max, please stop pacing. It's making me anxious." She comments, trying to keep her tone light. "Just sit down, he's gonna be fine."

Max looks over at her and then stops his pacing, sitting down. "Sorry, Violet. I'm just worried. Stupid corn cob." He mutters. "This is why I hate vegetables."

"Cosmo's gonna be fine. Mom's one of the top five vets in San Francisco." Jackson leans over to grab a pamphlet off the table in front of him. "It says so right here in this pamphlet she wrote."

"But I'm his doggy daddy and I'm sorry I let him down." Max frowned.

"It was an accident." Jackson reassured him.

"And I'm sorry I said I was mom's favorite." Max added.

"Don't worry about it." Jackson reassuringly spoke.

"And I'm sorry I gave your bike to a homeless man." Max continued.

"It's okay..." Jackson's eyes widen as he realized what he did. "You did what?"

Max shrugs. "I didn't have any spare change."

"What were you thinking? I made mom file a police report!" Jackson told him, staring at him with disbelief.

"Be nice to me, I'm having a bad day." Max warned and Violet chuckled, shaking her head.

"Did I ever tell you about Leon, my gecko?" Jackson asked Max.

"The one that left you to go work at that insurance company?" Max replied, raising his eyebrows at him.

"Yes. but, uh..I made that up. The truth is I let Leon play outside and I went inside for a fudgesicle. When I came back...Leon was gone." Jackson admitted.

"So he can't save me up to fifteen percentage on my car insurance?" Max inquired. Violet looked at him with amusement, smiling softly.

"I'm afraid not." Jackson answered.

Max furrows his eyebrows. "How is that story supposed to help me?"

"Not sure. It's the only pet story I've got." Jackson confesses. "But trust me, everything's gonna be okay."

Max then gets up and walks over to him to climb on his lap and hug him. "Thanks, Jackson." Jackson hugged him back and kissed the side of his head. Violet couldn't help the soft smile that formed on her face as she watched the interaction between Jackson and Max. It was sweet and adorable and she loved seeing them being brothers and getting along. As Violet observed the tender moment between Jackson and Max, she couldn't help but feel a warm sense of reassurance. Despite the tension and worry in the air, there was still love and support among them. It was moments like these that reminded her of the strength of their bond as a family.

As they waited for news on Cosmo's condition, Violet found herself reflecting on the unpredictable nature of life. Sometimes, despite our best intentions, accidents happen, and all we can do is offer comfort and support to those we care about. She realized that in moments of crisis, it's not just about the outcome but also about the strength we find in each other.

Eventually, when DJ and Matt were done with the surgery, Max had gotten up and went to check on him. He couldn't wait any longer. "I couldn't wait any longer," Max admits as he walks into the room. "Is Cosmo okay?" He questioned while Jackson and Violet followed him in. Cosmo laid on his side on the table with a sheet covering his lower half of his body. Violet raised her eyebrows, staring at DJ and Matt suspiciously when they seemed to be looking at each other intensely.

"Who?" Matt asked, not looking away from DJ yet before DJ had finally looked away.

"Oh, yeah, Cosmo came through like a champ." DJ reassures her son with a smile. "Yeah, a little rest and he'll be as good as new."

"Really?" Max's eyes lit up and he hugs his mom immediately. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"Hey, I helped." Matt spoke up, stretching his arms out for a hug and smiled when Max hugged him.

"I tried to help." Jackson chimed in and Max hugged him next.

Violet speaks up next. "Hey, I tried to help too." She smiled, hugging Max back when he hugged her.

Max sighs and turns to his mom after pulling away from Violet. "Mom, I've been thinking. All of this happened because I'm a terrible doggy daddy. I don't deserve Cosmo, so could you take care of him for me?"

DJ crouches down to his height, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Man, you're a wonderful doggy daddy. And parenting isn't about being perfect. It's about love. And nobody loves this dog more than you do. Cosmo is very lucky to have you. "

"And I'm lucky to have him." Max smiles and glances at Cosmo. "Okay, Cosmo, I'm giving myself a second chance. And I promise I'll do better. Could someone lift me up so I can give Cosmo a kiss?"

"I got this." Matt voiced and walked over to Max. He picked Max up and held him up so Max could kiss Cosmo's cheek. Matt then set him back down.

"Thanks, you guys. Send me the bill." Max said as he smiles at his mom and Matt. Violet chuckles and shakes her head. DJ sends Max a look as she puts her hand on her hip. "And then I'll give it to you, mom." Max added and DJ gave him a thumbs up. Violet then walked out with Max and Jackson, the three of them happy that Cosmo was going to be alright.

Violet follows Jackson inside once they got back to the house. Cosmo had a cone on and a bandage wrapped around him. "Come on, Max. Let's go give Cosmo his medicine." Jackson said, walking ahead of them to the kitchen with the medicine he held.

"Cosmo, to make it up to you, I'll give you a big bowl of chocolate ice cream." Max grinned and Violet grimaced at that.

"Oh, Max, no. Chocolate is poisonous for dogs." DJ quickly said as she closed the door behind her.

"Seriously?" Max asks with surprise. "These dogs should come with an owner's manual." Max complained and continued walking to the kitchen, holding onto the leash tighter when Cosmo walked faster.

"Hey, Violet, thank you for going with us." DJ said to Violet with a smile. "You didn't have to, but I think the boys appreciated it. I appreciate it."

Violet smiles back. "No problem. I just wanted to be there for Max. I hate seeing him upset and I care about him a lot. I also care about Cosmo a lot too so I'm happy to know that he's going to be okay."

"That's sweet of you, Violet," DJ replies, her smile warm and genuine. "You're like family to us, and having your support means a lot."

Violet feels her cheeks turn red and her heart warms. "Thank you, DJ. That means a lot. You're like family to me too. You guys mean the world to me."

DJ hugged her tightly and Violet returned the hug, smiling against her shoulder. She's grateful to have a family like this, a family who loves and supports her. They weren't even her biological family yet they did so much better than her real one. They're the family she needs and the family she chose. And she wouldn't have it any other way.

"I'm gonna go make sure the boys don't need any help with giving Cosmo his medicine." Violet decided after pulling away from DJ, heading towards the kitchen. She couldn't help the smile that formed on her face the whole time she thought about how great the Tanner family was and how they always were there for her. They were her family. Her chosen family. And she was forever grateful to have them in her life.

(violet's outfit for the next part of the chapter)

Violet found herself in the living room of the Tanner house one night, watching Stephanie and DJ dance with world-renowned dance coach, Signore Giuseppe Pignoli. Ramona had gotten the offer to study with him for the past two weeks. She was ecstatic and had a blast. Ramona always excitedly told Violet what kind of dances they learned after they finished practicing. Violet was excited for her, especially since it was a big deal for Ramona.

Violet was currently eating popcorn while she watched them dance. She had been asked to help judge them on their dance along with Kimmy and Fernando. Ramona was recording a video for her YouTube channel 'Ramona's World', recording Stephanie and Kimmy dancing with her dance coach. Jazz music played in the background as the three adults danced. This had been going for the past week where he would dance with the family. Ramona even said she thought he loved her family more than her. Violet didn't blame her for saying that because it sure acted like it sometimes.

It was two am and DJ and Stephanie had dance fever. Ramona told her vlog that tomorrow he's got the whole family doing 'West Side Story'. After the three were done dancing, they went over to where the judges were at to get their scores. Kimmy pulled out a sign with ''ten' on it.

"Ten!" Kimmy grinned and the three cheered.

"Ten!" Fernando said as he pulled out a sign with the number on it. The trio cheered once again.

Violet pulls out a sign that had 'ten' on it as well. "Ten!" The trio cheered and hugged each other again.

Fernando then acts as if Tommy was holding up a sign that read '2' and he speaks in a high pitch voice as if acting like it was Tommy talking. "Two." Tommy was sat between him and Violet, looking over at the trio curiously.

"Two?" Giuseppe gasps, looking at DJ and Stephanie with surprise. "There is always one judge that's impossible to please."
