After getting away from the Skullasaurus, Pikachu and his friends find themselves lost in foggy terrain. Worse yet, Bunnelby cannot figure out where they are due to the map being ripped apart.

"I know we went over this way...A-A-And I came across...but then, I lost my way over...And if I don't...But I know that..." said the confused Bunnelby before being interrupted by a puzzled Pikachu.

"Might you know which way Ash Ketchum is from here, Bunnelby?" asked the troubled mouse Pokémon.

"Oh, well...I mean, there..." responded Bunnelby, who does not have a clue to where they are, as he struggles to read the ruined map.

Bunnelby smiles back at the group, trying to keep them calm, even though he is on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

"There's this way, of course." The rabbit Pokémon said as he turns right, but then, comes back, knowing that is not the way to go. "Not that it's the right way."

"We obviously want to go this way." He suggested as he walks forward, but again, he returns to the group, as he is unsure if it is the right path to take. "Though that's way further than farther and nearer than not."

He looks back at the group before coming up with another suggestion.

"Although we can't rule out this way." Bunnelby states as he walks into the fog, but then, walks back to the group one more time, with a worrying look on his face.

"Now i-i-if Ash Ketchum was here, what would he say?" He asked his troubled friends. "Well, ha-ha, he'd say..."

It was at this moment, Bunnelby has a nervous breakdown as he throws the map pieces up into the air and places his hands on his head.

"That Bunnelby can't function in this humidity!" He yells out. "That's it's not his fault! This fog isn't even on the map!"

"And that..." His voice starts to crack as he sits down and begins to cry. "that Bunnelby is just not smart enough to know where to go, or...what to do."

His friends watch over their crying friend with concerned looks until Pikachu suddenly remembers another piece of advice that Ash provided him before he went missing.

"Oh!" Pikachu said, as he walks over to his depressed rabbit friend. "Ash Ketchum says, at a time like this, all I have to do is remember."

"Remember what?" asked the curious Bunnelby.

Pikachu tries to remember the exact words, but he could not.

"I forget." He said, before continuing. "But it's something like...You're smarter when you're pink. Does that help?"

"No." said the still depressed rabbit Pokémon as he gets up and walks away from the worried mouse Pokémon. "I-I don't know where we are and where we aren't."

He stops walking, before continuing with his confession to the group. "A-A-And I haven't known for hours. I've failed us all."

"I believe I have, as well." Pikachu said, putting a hand of comfort on Bunnelby's shoulder.

"Let's face it." Persian said, with a feeling of hopelessness in his voice. "Without Ash Ketchum, we don't have a chance of finding Ash Ketchum."

All members of the group were starting to feel the following emotions: despair, hopelessness, fear, and depression. With this fog around, there was no way they could continue their quest. As of now, they are lost in the mist. Also, everyone was getting sleepy. They needed to find someplace where they can sleep and hide from the Skullasaurus. Fortunately, Pikachu spots a cave in the foggy mist.

"Perhaps we might rest in there until this mist...is mostly mistless?" The mouse Pokémon suggested to his depressed friends.

"End of the road." Slowpokes starts to say as the group got up and started to head towards the cave. "Nothin' to do. And no hope of things getting' better.

Just as the group vanishes into the mist, Slowpoke finishes his train of thought.

"Sounds like Saturday night at my house."

---

In the dark cave, everyone was sound asleep. Well, almost everyone. While Piplup was laying his head on Slowpoke's body, Bunnelby, who was using the map as a blanket and a rock as a pillow, is shivering due to the cold air touching his legs. He twists and turns trying to stay warm in his sleep. He then covers his whole body with the map, and finally, falls into a deep sleep. But then...

"Ah!" Bunnelby yells out as he heard a loud snoring sound.

He turned to see where the snoring came from. The expression on his face quickly changed from frightened to annoyance when he discovers that it was his friend, Persian, who was making the snoring sound. The classy cat Pokémon was laying on his back, laughing and snoring at the same time. Bunnelby mumbles to himself as he tries to get back to sleep. However, it was made even difficult due to Persian's tail keeps slapping the rabbit Pokémon's face as the classy cat snores. Bunnelby turns to the side, hoping to avoid anymore slaps to the face. Sadly though, Persian's tail somehow grabs and pulls one of Bunnelby's ear. The frustrated rabbit gets up and looks at his sleeping friend with hatred burning in his eyes. Having had enough of the abuse, Bunnelby tries to grab Persian's tail; however, he missed it and ends up hitting himself. After admitting defeat to the tail of the sleeping Persian, Bunnelby suddenly hears Pikachu's voice, echoing in the cave.

"I've tried to find you, Ash Ketchum." Bunnelby heard what Pikachu said.

"I know, Pikachu." The rabbit Pokémon said, with the sound of defeat in his voice. "I'm...I'm sorry. You'd have found him by now if...if I hadn't..."

But when he turned to face his friend, Bunnelby realizes that Pikachu was not with them in the cave.

"Pikachu?" Bunnelby said, while looking for his friend.

Eventually, he spots Pikachu outside the cave. He gets up and walks over to the entrance of the cave. The rabbit Pokémon then just stood there, watching the mouse Pokémon walk through the mist to the tree that is on top of a cliff.

"I've looked all the places you aren't." Pikachu continues speaking to himself while looking up to view the foggy night sky. "I just can't find the places you are. I only know that you are where I am not. And where am I?"

The sadden Pokémon, sighs and then, continues talking to the sky. "I wish you were here to tell me. Perhaps, if I were to wish very, very hard..."

Pikachu walks towards the tree, and after a few seconds of silence, he starts to sing.

PIKACHU: Come out moon, come out wishing star

Come out, come out...

Wherever you are.

Pikachu starts climbing the tree to the very top, while he sings.

I'm out here in the dark,

Alone and wide awake,

Come and find me.

I'm empty and I'm cold,

And my heart's about to break

Come and find me.

I need you to come here and find me,

'Cuz without you I'm totally lost.

I've hung a wish on every star.

It hasn't done much good so far.

I can only dream of you,

Pikachu then hears Ash Ketchum laughing from one of the Pokémon's many memories of being with the boy. The singing resumes.

Wherever you are.

Pikachu attempts to chase a cloud that looked like Ash Ketchum but could not continue further as he feared he would fall from the tree. Eventually, the cloud formation disappears.

I'll hear you laugh; I'll see you smile,

I'll be with you... just for a while.

But when the morning comes

And the sun begins to rise,

I will lose you...

Because it's just a dream:

When I open up my eyes

I will lose you.

Pikachu starts climbing down the tree as he continues to sing his heart out.

I used to believe in forever,

But forever's too good to be true.

I've hung a wish on every star,

It hasn't done much good so far.

I don't know what else to do...

Except to try to dream of you,

Pikachu opens his honey pot and stares at his reflection, before closing it up again without even tasting the sweet honey his best friend given to him.

And wonder... if you're dreaming too,

Wherever you are.

Pikachu begins to yawn. But before sleep can takeover him, the mouse Pokémon finishes his song.

Wherever you are...

Once Pikachu had fallen asleep, Bunnelby walks over to him and covers his sleeping friend with the map, so that he would not get cold. The rabbit Pokémon then stares at the sky while holding himself, trying to keep warm, with a concerned look in his eyes. Bunnelby hopes that they do find their lost human friend soon. Then maybe, things can go back to the way they were before Ash went missing.
