Hello everyone! Jun/Juni here, and welcome to the final author's note of Plus Minus One! It's still kind of hard to believe that we've gotten to this point after two years and eight months. Wow, this book started when I was a junior in high school, and now I'm a freshman in college. I honestly never thought we would make it to this point, but here we are!

It's been such a long journey writing PMO and with all of the characters tucked inside of here. I didn't think I would have such a fun and fantastic time writing this book as I would usually lose motivation quickly, but that didn't happen here. Then again, without writing this book, I would not have met many other people with the same interests, so I'm grateful for that.

First things first, as you can see, Plus Minus One ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. Wasn't that fun? Plus Minus One is going to have a sequel called Vivid Decadence. This book will be centered around Tanami more than Akihiko, which seems fair considering one twin was favored more than the other in this story. I plan to release the first arc in late May or early June. The latest would be mid-July. It depends on how the rest of my semester goes and how summer school will be. That's what I get for failing a class. -_-

So just to keep you busy while I write VD, I released another book called Fathom Into Constellations which will give you more insight about Nori and Namiko and what I believe was the beginning of the Quirk Era. I'll also start updating To You, I'm Indebted alongside FIC for now.

Random Facts:

1) Changes in names

First off, if you've noticed, not a single member of Team Alpha has had their Hero name revealed as I pulled away from the class to focus more on Akihiko and his troubles. Not to mention the whole problem with the Seraphim. During the planning process, my original Hero names for the twins were going to be Thyst and Amy. Obviously, it was a play on amethyst. Later on, I grew to dislike it. If you've read Counter Clockwise, you know that their names were changed to Chrysalis and Prismatic.

Besides that name change, some of my Ocs did change, whether it was on purpose or by accident. Sumiko's original name was Sumire, and the only reason it changed was that I didn't remember how to spell it. That was a mistake on my part. I didn't even realize I misspelled it until I returned to my notes around chapter ten. By then, Sumiko was already known as Sumiko.

Yua's original name was Fei, but I didn't like it at all. It kept reminding me of Rei, as in Rei Todoroki. I couldn't get that out of my head, so that was scrapped. Junpei was supposed to be a girl, and her name was going to be Leiko. Same personality, but it just rubbed me the wrong way that Leiko was going to 'harass' Akihiko as Junpei does during the story. I'm not saying how Junpei acts is correct, but it felt creepier to me if he was a girl. I don't know. Maybe it's just me?

2) Changes in Quirks

Rather than Tomohiro's Quirk being called Living Ink, it was going to be called Breathing Ink. Instead, the Quirk Breathing Ink belongs to his deceased sister Koemi. They also were going to share the same Quirk, but they're a bit different.

Kagemi's Quirk was supposed to be a sound Quirk. I don't even remember what it was supposed to be called or do. Just a sound Quirk that has fully evaporated from my brain. Yua's Quirk was going to be controlling threads or strings. I think it was called Puppet Master. However, I felt like it was a little similar to Puppeteer's Quirk, so I changed it to Psychometric Ferality. Junpei's Quirk was going to be called Database. Practically the ability to memorize and analyze things at fast rates. But I like butterflies so I changed it.

3) The doll arc

I spent the entire three arcs leading up to arc four wondering if I wanted to keep the doll arc concerning Junri and Junpei. I kept going back and forth trying to figure out it would be a good idea or not. However, eventually, I kept it in because I had already foreshadowed the pie and Tanami.

My second plan if I didn't integrate this was to make Junpei one of the eight Seraphim. It would make sense because of his connection to Junri and frankly, I could connect the past foreshadowing as well. But I didn't like it that much which is why I stuck to the first plan. Plus, even if Junpei isn't the best person, I couldn't make him out to be a real Villain. Is he annoying? Yes. Would he ever kill or directly harm someone? No.

4) Junri

In the beginning, Junri was supposed to be a teacher at Mizu Academī per the request of the principal. Tomohiro was fine with it as long as she did her job and kept in contact with them. What else does this mean? She would have been a major figure in the twins' lives because she would have stayed with her team.

But, it would not have changed the fact that her Quirk would have weighed down on her sanity. Eventually, she would have broke from the amount of pressure and views on the world. At one point, she would have held Akihiko hostage because she could feel something stirring in his Quirk. She thought it was possible to nullify her own Quirk with Reflective Crystallization. She was desperate and tired at that point and began to refer to her own Quirk as a curse.

Another thing would be is that she would have created Junpei too but she did try to be a mother to him. She wasn't as heartless and crazy as she is in the current book. The thing that remains the same in these two timelines is that Junri is made out to be a tragic character. In my eyes at least. I don't know if you see her that way. All I knew was that she was never going to have a good ending.

Questions:

Now that this book is completed, I would love to know what you thought of it! I'll give you a few questions, but you don't have to answer them if you don't want to. Or you can skip a few questions if you like. Whatever you feel like doing. I may or may not answer some things if they give out spoilers.

There are a little over thirty characters in this story. A few should up briefly while others stuck around, whether we liked it or not. Who was your favorite character and why?

1) Branching off of the first question, who was your least favorite character and why?

2) A lot was going on in this book. It was the main reason it was so long. In fact, I had to cut out two arcs that ranged from 8 - 10 chapters because then this book would have been like seventy chapters. What was your favorite arc/part/chapter/etc.?

3) Although there were a lot of events, was there anything that you felt was your least favorite? Was it a part that was written poorly, too rushed, or you just didn't like it? I don't care if you're mean- well' don't curse at me or something- but I want to know where I can approve upon.

4) As a sequel is needed, I left a few threads hanging while others were resolved. Were some of your theories correct, or did they just completely stray off the path?

5) Something I see a lot in other BnHA stories is that the kids/teenagers are the ones that solve problems without the help of adults. In this story, the adult and teenagers' lives were separated yet intertwined when it came to the Villains. But in two different scenarios, Akihiko and Tanami were rendered helpless when they were needed and would need an adult's assistance. Did you like how it would shift between Akihiko, Tanami, and Tomohiro's povs in this book? Each had a different storyline, and I'm wondering if it was conveyed fine and not confusing whenever an arc/chapter shifted point of view.

6) Do you have any questions for me? Whether it's about an OC or anything, I'll try my best to answer it.

7) If I were to make another short story with this cast, what would be more interesting? Which would you want to see after To You, I'm Indebted is complete? Yes, I made too much lore for myself with this book and am effectively writing this entire series backward.

Wasps Amidst Butterflies: Takes place in the future where Team Alpha is a Hero team already. They are commissioned to solve a spree of robberies happening around major tech industry companies. However, it seems like the Villain they need to take down has a perfect counter for Junpei's Quirk.

The Bewitching Theater: Tells the story of how the original members of the Inscribe Agency split. It may have ended with an argument that divided them but the mission that led to it was even worse. After all, everyone is human and a human can't help but be selfish when their desires are placed in front of them.

Extinguishing the Stars: Takes place a few years before PMO and talks about the deaths of the current Aquarius and Auriga and what lead up to Cepheus taking up the name Decadence. Totally not my excuse to write smol Chamaeleon and Decadence.

Apparently, I like three-word titles. Huh, who knew?

8) Finally, do you have any other BnHA fics that you would recommend? I'm just curious to see if you have any?

Once again, thank you for reading Plus Minus One and sticking through fifty chapters plus a prologue. I'm sure it was really long read, but I hoped you enjoyed it at the end. It means a lot to me, and I hope you stick around to see my future works!

I think I'll leave you with a little teaser of Vivid Decadence.

『Crystals must erode before their brilliance is shown』

"Move without a sound. You should only speak when it is time to say checkmate," were the words that Decadence said in the form of advice.

Agreeing to the words inscribed on that paper crane a year ago, Tanami's choice to flee with the Empyreans was seared into her mind with certainty. Taking Chamaeleon's hand was the best course of action for herself and those she cared about. However, after a time of stillness, ripples begin to break through the surface as the Seraphim start to make their move once again. Unable to ignore those vile acts, the crystal finds herself taking the ancient alias of Caeli.

Brandishing a blade made of obsidian, she could only stare at her mirror image with vivid sorrow. With the shake of her head, she could only turn away from her brother and head into the depths of the night. You can't catch something that you can't see, especially with erosion comes into play.

Akihiko's expression twisting into heartbreak nearly forced her to a halt, yet she still took hold of Chamaeleon's hand anyway. It's for the best, she told herself. It's for the best. "I can't let you get hurt too."
