It was just Serena, Alain, Diantha, Silver, Professor Sycamore and Ash against Lysandre and his Megalith. No Pokemon, no weapons, only themselves.

Ash started by using his ice abilities to freeze it in its tracks, stopping it from moving any further. Lysandre started to freak out and slip down the ice. The others immediately loosened up as they assumed this was going to be easy, but the firm look on Ash's face remained.

"I don't think using any grass, ground or rock type moves would help since that's literally what the Megalith is made of. Maybe try using elements like fire and water or energy like fairy or dark", Steven suggested.

Ash immediately acknowledged his advice and launched a huge ball of fire at the Megalith, causing it to burn in pain. The rest of the group cheered, and though Ash was the most powerful, he was also still the most doubtful. The Megalith continued to burn, until suddenly, it was surrounded by a red aura, and the ice and fire surrounding it were suddenly blown away. Everyone but Lysandre and Ash gasped in shock.

"It regenerated its health. Me throwing stuff at it doesn't help, since it can absorb the energy and use it to revive itself", he explained. The Megalith sent a huge explosion of energy throughout the rocky field as it roared, strengthening its power even more. As the group were forced to cover their eyes, they failed to see that Ash was being covered in a white glowing cocoon. As soon as they saw and realized, it was too late as white roots started growing from the cocoon to protect him. They started to freak out. What would they do with their most powerful ally?

The Megalith started to go on a rampage, screaming as it released blasts of energy, hitting every part of the field and making the ground shake. They took cover under any form of shelter they could find, and even if they felt victorious just a few minutes ago, they found themselves hiding from what they thought they'd defeated.

Meanwhile, Ash was stuck in his won mind, thinking as he was protected by the cocoon.

"What do I do? Even if I strangle it with thorns, it'll just absorb the energy and make itself stronger..."

Ash was panicking on his own in his own world. He was supposed to guide the world, but he couldn't even manage to save it from the creation of a crazy scientist.

"C'mon Ash...what do you remember from battling?..."

He thought and thought and thought, thinking for hours on end but, back in reality, for only a few minutes since time in his own mental world was slowed down. Suddenly, something clicked in his head.

"That's it! If it can absorb all the energy I attack it with, I need to take away the source it's using to absorb it! Which would be...the heart where Chespie is! But this time, I'm going to have to go get Chespie on my own. Why didn't I think of that before? I did it last time..."

The cocoon started to crack, glowing with every sound of peeling skin. It eventually broke, and Ash sprouted out of it, glowing white and looking even more powerful than ever. He flew so he was above the Megalith, and shot a sharp thorn aimed at its center. The thorn immediately caught onto Chespie at the heart of it, yanking it out and making the Megalith fall.  He also remembered that Lysandre had a device on his arm, which he used to power the Megalith. He used his electric powers to overpower and destroy it, and within 30 minutes only, Ash had defeated Lysandre again. On his own.

He gracefully landed to the flat ground as Lysandre shrieked in defeat again, being congratulated by his friends. Suddenly, he was being pulled from reality again, having to leave his friends once more. He saw a vision of himself.

Arceus held a white and black crown and placed it gently on Ash's head, symbolizing that the power was his and anything he chose to do would be the example for the rest of the world. That he had free will. The vision ended as dark spots covered the vivid sensation.

What was that darkness? Ash thought nothing of it and continued to celebrate. But was it really a smart choice to ignore it?

Thanks a lot for reading! Apologies if there is a lack of detail as I wasn't exactly sure how to present this chapter through words.

I hope you enjoyed it and feel free to leave any suggestions or constructive criticism in the comments, I am always looking for ways to improve.
