After Lysandre was defeated, Alain, Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, Sycamore, Diantha, Silver, the gym leaders and Ash all went to Sycamore's lab to celebrate.

"Congratulations to everyone for defeating Lysandre once again!", Sycamore cheered as they clinked glasses.

There were many laughs and bright conversations, until Alain only had noticed Ash was missing. He went to the greenhouse, where he knew Ash liked to go, and found him sitting on the pond again. As soon as Ash saw him, he created a barricade of ice that pushed Alain away, not startling him in the least, since he knew now what Ash's powers could do.

"Ash, I just wanna talk!", he reassured calmly as the ice suddenly shattered into a million pieces. Ash created a bridge out of stone on the pond for Alain to walk on, which he did, before taking Ash by the hand and lifting him up.

"Ash, what's wrong?", he whispered.

Still looking down, Ash replied, "Isn't it obvious?"

"N...No..."

Ash sighed.

"I'm immortal", he said. Alain remained confused.

"Y-Yeah, I know"

"Do you know what that means?"

"It means you can't die"

"But you can, and so can everyone else. No matter how hard I try, everyone I know and love will leave me"

Alain's eyes widened. He'd never thought about that concept from Ash's perspective. At first, he'd thought it would've been great to be immortal, and having powers like Ash's would be a huge bonus. He didn't think of the pain Ash would have to suffer. Ash  suddenly grasped his hands, and as soon as he let go, a crystal rose lay in Alain's palms, shining brighter than the moon above them.

"I may be the most powerful thing in the universe, but nothing in the world can make me mortal. Not even my own powers. I'll just be stuck falling for newer generations, which will also leave me. And I can't make you immortal. I'm not allowed to do that. I can, but not willingly."

"Ash...", Alain said as he held his hands, "I never thought how painful this must be for you. But...I'll make sure you don't forget me"

"How?"

"You'll see", Alain winked.

-A century later-

A small child of the age of 6 ran up to his group of friends, showing them a picture of an adult man with black hair, sitting next to a child with the same color of hair, with wings.

"Did you know, my granddad was friends with Arceus' son?", he told them.

"No way", one of them said, "That's impossible".

"It's true", a voice echoed through the air.

The group of children gasped as a flurry of wind gathered into one area, revealing a 15 year old boy who looked exactly like the child in the picture. He wore a sleeveless white jumpsuit with shorts. The children's eyes widened as he walked towards them with his wings sticking out and kneeled down in front of them.

"He's telling the truth. His grandfather used to be very close friends with me", he explained.

"Y-You're Ash? The son of Arceus?", one of the children said as they suddenly got to their knees and started making worshipping gestures towards him.

"Please, raise your head. No need to be so modest", Ash said as he stood up again. The child with the photo walked towards him.

"What was he like?"

Ash smiled fondly.

"Your granddad was the sweetest man ever. He was kind and charming, and he helped me realize my own worth. You should be proud to be his grandson. Maybe we can be friends, just like I was with your granddad."

"Yes! Yes! Yes! I wanna be your friend!", the child cheered. Ash took his hand and formed in it a crystal rose which shone brighter than the moon on a brilliant night. The child looked back at the picture and saw his grandfather holding the same thing.

"This looks like the rose in the picture!"

"It is. I gave the same thing to your grandfather on the day he told me I'd never forget him. And I still remember him even after his passing"

The child smiled and gave Ash a hug, to which he hugged back.

"Will you remember me too?", he asked. Ash chuckled gently as he answered.

"How could I forget?"

And that's the end of I Am Powerful! Gosh, that was so much fun to write! The ending might be a little disappointing, but let's hope Alain is watching Ash from heaven.

Thank you to all of the lovely people who have been reading and following this story from beginning to end! This chapter was a bit late since I took some time to figure out how to write the ending. I might make a sequel though! >w<

If you liked this story, check out some of my other books as well.
