Daisuke (POV)
Eren and I are feeding the horses. While my body is doing that, my mind is elsewhere. More specifically, the letter that was left for me.
Daisuke *mind*- A love letter but from whom. I can't really even call it a love letter. It was more like a demand than anything else. I don't recognize the penmanship and the only clue I have to go off of is the signee's signature symbol, the A.
I'm brought out of my thoughts by Gunther and Eld who were sitting on the steps having a drink of coffee.
Gunther- Hey Eren, Daisuke! You know if anyone in your class is thinking about joining us?
Eren- Yeah, there's a few.
Daisuke- There were before the battle. Now, I'm not so sure.
The sound of horses hooves can be heard running to our location. Must be Captain Levi and Captain Brennan.
Gunther- Fall in!
Levi and Brennan come to a stop.
Levi- Make ready, people. We're going on patrol.
GE- Yes sir!
Eren and I do the standard salute.
ED- Good morning Captain! Reporting for duty!
Levi- Eren, you will stay within ten meters of me at all times. The same rules apply to you too Daisuke. Within ten meters of Brennan.
Brennan- The only reason you're not in your cells is because we're keeping an eye on you two. Understood?
We nod.
Brennan- Now then, let's ride.
Later that afternoon
Hikaru (POV)
Today is the day that we decide regiment we go into. We're currently at the place where the decision ceremony is to take place. Everyone from our class of cadets is here. Well, those who are still alive that is. Currently I'm leaning up against a wall with Sasha, Armin, Connie, and Annie. The sun beams down as it starts to dip lower into the sky. Nervous chatter fills the area but I tune them out.
Annie- Hey Hikaru, can I talk to you for a second?
Now this has my interest peaked. The normally quiet girl with the "doesn't give a flying fuck, I'm only looking out for myself " attitude wants to speak with me.
I take a step or two to get over to the part of the wall she's leaning against.
Hikaru- What's up?
Annie- It's about Daisuke. What's his story?
Hikaru-.....Not really much I can say about it. He was just the average energetic boy in the beginning. After dad died, he did change. He became a lot more serious. Became even more protective of me, Mom, Armin, Eren, and Mikasa. I guess he knew it was time to grow up a little. It definitely showed when Shiganshina fell to the titans, we were homeless and struggling within the walls of Rose, and when Mom was essentially fodder for the Titans when she was forced to go on an expedition with others outside the walls. Even with all the trauma he's been through, he still smiles. As I finish the tale, I can see Annie smiling and blushing.

Annie noticed and reverts back to her normal resting bitch face. I start to bust out laughing.
Annie- (annoyed) What?
Hikaru- It's nothing. You're adorable Annie.
Hikaru *mind*- Can't wait to tell Daisuke about this.
I finally calm down as Jean approaches.
Armin- Jean, you're really set on the Scouts?
Jean- Yeah.
Sasha- Whoa, are you serious? I mean, aren't you terrified?
Jean- Huh? Of course I'm scared, I'm not an idiot here.
Connie- Then why are you-
Jean- Because I am scared of the Titans. And I want to do something about it. But listen, I understand that joining the Scouts isn't for everybody. I won't guilt trip you. Unlike a certain pair of suicidal maniacs.
Connie- Eren and Daisuke Huh? Guess they've been a Scout for awhile now, haven't they?
A soldier calls out to us Cadets to fall in line and head over to the platform. It's time to make our choices.
Jean- At the end of the day, there's nothing that anyone could say to persuade you into risking your life. Same goes for me. So believe me when I say this decision is all mine.
Timeskip
It's a cloudy night and the flames from the posts are the only thing lightning the place up. Mikasa arrived in time and now I'm standing next to her and Armin in formation. Commander Erwin is up on the platform ready for this thing to start.
Erwin- Good evening. I am Erwin Smith, Commander of the Survey Corp, also known as the Scout Regiment. Today you will choose your regiment. Let's cut to the chase here. The Scouts need you. We need all the warm bodies we can get. After the recent Titan attack, you now know first hand the horrors of which they are capable. As well as the limits of your own skill. However, the battle's aftermath gave humanity a new chance for victory. I refer to Eren Jaeger and Daisuke Tatsuo. After selfishly risking life and limb, they have proven beyond a doubt their unwavering loyalty to our cause. Hope lives in these two men. Eren and Daisuke didn't just help deter the Titan invasion. They've offered us a means to discern the truth of their origin.
Gasps and low chatter erupt from the formation. Even my eyes widen.
Erwin- Intel suggests that the cellar of Jaeger's home in Shiganshina holds a vital secret regarding our enemy. We will form an expedition to find this secret. Find it and use it to break free from the Titans' tyrannical hundred year reign once and for all. Before we can reach the aforementioned cellar in Shiganshina, another problem must be dealt with. We must first take back Wall Maria. Of course, this is much easier said than done.
Some soldiers pull up a map illuminated by the flames.

Erwin- And now that the gate at Trost has been rendered inaccessible, we'll be forced to stage future operations from the Calanath District, further east. Thus, the battalion route we've spent the last four years establishing is now completely useless to us. Over the course of those four years, we've incurred losses in access of sixty percent. Sixty percent in four years. That's a horrifying figure. One month from now, we will conduct a recon mission outside the walls. Recruits from among your ranks will be expected to take part. I estimate a third of them will die. After four years, most will be dead. But those who endure will be amongst the most capable soldiers alive. Now having heard this dismal state of affairs, whoever still wishes to put their life on the line and join us, remain here. But first ask yourself. Can you give your heart? Can you give everything for humanity?...........That is all. Those wanting to join other regiments are dismissed.

One by one, cadets turn heel and walk off. Among them includes Annie. Honestly can't blame her. Yet here I stand, eyes focused on the ground and lost in my thoughts.
Hikaru *mind*- The plan had always been joining the scouts. But I was joining for Daisuke's sake. I never bothered to ask myself why I wanted to join the Scouts. Yes I know is basically hell on earth fighting those Titans. Yes I know I I will most likely die in the end of it. But damn it, if I'm going to die, I'd rather die on my feet and fighting than living on my hands and knees struggling to survive and waiting till the day of reckoning comes. My name is Hikaru Tatsuo and I AM NO SURVIVOR, I AM A WARRIOR. And this warrior fights for the SCOUTS.
My feet promptly stay where they are and I lift my head up with pride and determination. In the end, a little over two handfuls of cadets remain. Those include Sasha, Connie, Jean, Mikasa, Armin, Bertholdt, Ymir, and Krista to name a few.
Erwin- I ask you, if you were ordered to die, could you do it?
Cadet- We don't want to die, sir!
Erwin- Of course. Let us hope that you don't then. You who stayed, you are now one of us. Allow me to welcome you into the Scout Regiment. This is a genuine salute, soldiers! Together, we give our hearts!
Everyone- (does the salute) Sir!
Erwin- Those of you who are standing here have worked through your fear. You have proven yourself courageous. Each one of you has my respect.

Later the same night
Daisuke (POV)
After a long day of patrolling, I'm back in my bed, in my cell. I'm soundly asleep till a noise wakes me up. Through groggy eyes, I check my surroundings. The entire area is pitch black with the exception of a torch lighting up some of the hall. The clicking of a shoe echoes down the hall to my left in the darkness.
Daisuke- Hello?
I get no response after a couple seconds yet the same noise happens again.
Daisuke- Who's there?
Again no response.
I step out of bed and go as far as my chains will let me. I peer down the hallway through the bars. A mouse comes scurrying out of the darkness causing me to jump a little.
Daisuke- You serious? I can't believe I got scared by a mouse.
I turn around and I'm immediately face to face with something or someone.

???- Hello there.
Daisuke- What the-
Before I can get the rest out, his hand covers my mouth, lightning emits from his hand, my whole body is electrocuted. I crumple to the floor and as the light begins to fade, I managed to squeeze out one more question.
Daisuke- Who in the hell are you?
And with that, darkness wins and I lose consciousness.
Sora (POV)
Sora- Who am I? I'm the catalyst of despair. (Presses comms in ear) Pandora, I've got the Oracle Titan, Daisuke Tatsuo. Bring me home.
On que, Pandora's dimensional portal opens up with her on the other side.

I grab Daisuke and chuck him through the portal. I step through and the portal closes behind me. Back in the Ancient Sanctuary I look around for Draven but he's nowhere to be found.
Sora- Draven around?
Pandora- He's with the Queen in his quarters. But Beelzebub is arriving now.
As she spoke the words, Beelzebub showed.

Beelzebub- Well done Sora. I'll take the Titan Shifter from here.
Sora- What do you plan to do with him?
Beelzebub- (smirk) It pays to be a warlock. He vanishes along with Daisuke.
Sora- Well now that's done, the human world awaits. Indigo, watch your ass. Your days are numbered and so is the human world and your precious multiverse.
