It’s been about two years since Roman came to Earth and six months since he lost Virgil to Logan. Currently, the Prince of Mewni is sitting in his bedroom tower, looking out the window to the twinkling constellations far above him and beyond that, the different galaxies that hold the different dimensions and one of them holding Mewni. His eyes tear slightly at the thought of how Virgil and Logan are sitting in the next room over, having the time of their lives. After a moment of wallowing in his self-pity, his face hardens and he pulls on one of the hoodies he ‘borrowed’ from Virgil.

He jumps out of his window and walks away from the house that holds his second family. After an hour of mindless wandering, he finds himself at a bonfire with Patton and a bunch of delinquents. He finds himself copying them with great ease, taking drinking the liquor from the cans in a cooler and taking hits from the cigarettes that he was handed when he approached. He glances around and sees that nearly everyone was trading saliva with someone else. He stands and grabs the devil horn headband he keeps in his hair of his head. He stares at it, thinking of how Virgil gave these to him to help him feel better without wearing his crown. He throws it over his shoulder and into the bonfire behind him, leaving without another thought.

As soon as he’s far enough away from the party, Roman takes off running. “But I’m weak! And what’s wrong with that? Boy, oh, boy, I love it when I fall for that!” He sings as he runs through the woods, stopping as he comes across a cliff. He stands, catching his breath for a moment before continuing with the rest of the chorus of that song. “I’m weak and what’s wrong with that? Boy, oh, boy, I love it when I fall for that! I’m weak!” He sings over the edge of the cliff. His eyes tear up once more and he slaps his head, feeling like a complete and utter idiot. He looks down over the ledge and almost smiles at the water beneath him. “I’m weak!” He sings, jumping off the cliff into the water. He curls himself into a ball, a giant wave of water erupting from the spot where he landed. The sensation of being under the water reminded him of the time he had to go into his wand to stop Narcissism from corrupting all the magic inside. He floats back up to the surface and stares up into the stars once more.

“No, thank you. They call me after dark.” He sings, tracing the constellations that Patton had made up and taught him to remind him of all the important people in his life. A heart for Patton, a fire burst for Roman’s demon ex-girlfriend Passion, a neutral-looking face for Logan, a chipped heart for Virgil, and a smiley-face for Justice/Pony-head. “I don’t want no part. My habits, they hold me like a grudge. I promise I won’t budge.” He continues singing, closing his eyes. “One sip, bad for me. One hit, bad for me. One kiss, bad for me. But I give in so easily.” After couple moments, Roman teleports to the small beach below the cliff that he had noticed, drying off. “And no, thank you is how it should have gone. I should stay strong… But I’m weak! And what’s wrong with that? Boy, oh, boy, I love it when I fall for that!--” Someone shouting his name cuts him off before he can continue the next line. Roman turns his head and does a double take when he sees Virgil running towards him… Was Virgil crying…? Oh my gosh! He was!

“I thought I lost you! I saw the jacket at the top of the cliff and… And…” Virgil doesn’t continue, too scared to finish the thought. A single tear rolls down Roman’s face as he pats the sand next to him, signalling Virgil to sit down next to him. The two sit in silence for a moment before Roman takes a deep breath and talks. “Virgil, I need to tell you something…” Virgil chuckles uncomfortably next to him. “Me too…” He mumbles. The two seem to gather all their strength before spitting out the exact same three words. “I love you.” It takes a moment for the other’s confession to process in their brains, but as soon as it does, they embrace, smiling like idiots. After a great deal of time in that position, they pull apart and stand. “Let’s go home.” Roman says as he throws Virgil over his shoulder. “Hey, put me down!” Virgil cries out, hitting Roman’s back, but not doing anything to faze him.

Neither of them noticed the blood moon hanging high in the sky, seemingly smiling at the two males, one laughing hysterically and the other shouting curses at the top of his lungs.
