Rosalie Charmille, or just Rose, had been dating Shu Kurenai for two years. Obviously that meant dealing with a ton of jealous fangirls, but she didn't care.

Shu and Rose found it difficult to have any alone time, but that made their alone moments more precious. Everything went well until one day...

"What do you mean, you're going back to America?" asked Rose.

"I have to. You know that I'm the manager of the Raging Bulls now."

"But... I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too. But we can still text and call each other."

So Shu left for America. Rose felt sad and missed Shu like crazy. Although they texted each other every day and called each other during the weekends, it just wasn't the same.

But one day, Shu texted Rose to explain that he would be in meetings all day, so he won't be able to text her. Rose was a little sad, but was prepared to wait it out. She watched some cartoons on TV for a while, not minding that she was too old for some of them.

Unexpectedly, Rose received another text from Shu. Although surprised, Rose happily went to read it. Upon reading it, her jaw dropped.

"Shu... You want to break up with me?" asked Rose. She didn't understand it. Why would he suddenly do that?

"No... It can't be. No, noooooooo!" Rose blocked Shu's number and broke down in tears.

Six months passed. Rose had shut herself off from everyone. She had been heartbroken ever since Shu had broken up with her.

Rose's parents had been concerned about her and tried to find out what was wrong with their daughter. But Rose didn't tell them anything.

Rose stared up at the ceiling of her bedroom. She was tempted to unblock Shu and ask for an explanation. But... No, she couldn't bear getting heartbroken again. Besides, seeing Shu again may bring back the pain.

Rose didn't want to go out, but she knew that she couldn't stay inside forever.

One morning, she woke up to hear the doorbell ringing. Rose was annoyed. Couldn't she sleep in peace?

Rose sleepily got up and went downstairs. She was really annoyed with the person outside for disturbing her peaceful sleep. She opened the front door... And found Shu at the other side.

"Hi Rose," said Shu.

Rose gasped. Then she closed the door.

"Rose, wait!" called out Shu. "Just let me explain myself!"

"Explain? You broke up with me over text and never gave me a proper explanation why!"

"You blocked me! How was I supposed to give an explanation?"

"So I'm at fault here?"

"I never said that! Just let me tell you the whole story!"

"Go away! I never want to see you again."

Rose stormed upstairs, not caring if Shu left or not. She ignored the fact that Shu was yelling from outside.

But Rose found Shu throwing stones at her window a few minutes later. She looked outside. "Go away!" she yelled.

"Rose, please," said Shu.

"Just don't get close to me. Go and find someone else!"

But Shu was persistent. He tried yelling to her. He tried ringing the doorbell again. Even when it started to rain, Shu still didn't leave.

Rose's mother came inside her room. "Rose, your boyfriend is refusing to leave until you speak to him. You should say something."

"I don't want to see him."

"Rose, it's obvious that you still care for him. And I think that Shu also cares for you. He came back to Japan to talk to you in person. Besides, he will get sick if he stays in the rain."

Rose groaned. Why was Shu so ridiculously stubborn?

"Fine, I'll talk to him, but only because I don't want him to get sick."

A few minutes later, Rose and a soaking wet Shu were sitting at opposite ends of a sofa.

"I thought that I told you not to get too close to me," said Rose coldly.

"I know," said Shu. "But hear me out. Then do whatever you want. Avoid me, hate me, ignore me, I don't care. But let me explain myself."

"Fine. You only have five minutes."

"Okay, so that day I was at meetings. I had no time to eat lunch or check (sneezes) sorry, my phone, so I left it in my office."

"But you texted me," snapped Rose.

"Yes I (sneezes) know, but I didn't send that text."

"What?" asked Rose. Shu didn't seem like the type to lie about something like that. Her anger suddenly vanished, replaced by curiosity. "Then who did?"

"I don't know for certain, but (sneezes) I think that one of my female students did (sneezes) that."

Rose went silent. She knew that some of Shu's female students at the Raging Bulls had crushes on him, but that sounded really cruel.

"Anyway, that evening I was eating dinner when (sneezes) I discovered the text, so (sneezes) I tried to call you to explain everything, but (sneezes) you blocked me and I (sneezes) couldn't reach you, so..."

"Stop," said Rose. "Go to bed."

"What?"

"It's obvious that you're sick. You keep sneezing and..." Rose touched Shu's forehead. "You're burning up! You need to take a bath and then it's straight to bed with you!"

"I'm fine, really," said Shu.

"Look, if what you're saying is true and you didn't break up with me, then it's my fault you stayed in the rain just to talk to me. The least I can do is to make sure you get better."

"But what about work?" asked Shu.

"Nonsense, Mr You-Have-A-Cold-And-Need-To-Rest. I'll get you medicine, and I'm sorry I didn't let you explain. If I had just listened, you wouldn't be sick right now."

Shu gave in, mainly because he didn't have the strength to argue.

"Fine," muttered Shu. "I'll (sneezes) rest."

Rose kissed the top of Shu's head. "There's my cute boyfriend."

I know it's not part of the prompt challenge, but do you want a Part 2 where Rose takes care of Shu?
