I fidgeted with my fingers, twisting them gently and popping my knuckles. I was more than ready for this, but the weight of the idea was heavy. Doubts ran through my mind, but I shook my head, erasing them from existence. I looked across the altar to where Dan stood, an easy smile on their face. They-along with Mike-wore tuxedos with a mint green tie, whilst I had Timothy and Jeremy behind me with purple ties. Dan was Scott's best man, having been his best friend for years, and Timothy was my own, since Dan couldn't be both of our best man.

Dan locked eyes with me, motioning their hands in a 'breathe’ motion. I nodded, taking a deep breath as the doors opened. My breath hitched as I caught a glimpse of Scott. His hair had been spiked with gel, courtesy of Dan, and he held a bouquet of magnolias. A magnolia blossom had been clipped to his lapel, and a couple petals lay in his hair. He made his way up the aisle, smiling brightly at me. We'd elected Fritz to walk him up since he didn't want a huge part in the wedding, and agreed that walking Scott up would be enough.

When he stood across from me, passing the bouquet to Dan and placing his hands in mine, I met his smile with one of my own.

“Hey, babe,” I uttered as the officiator began to speak.

“Hey, hon,” he muttered back. My smile stretched wider as I watched him, ears tuned to the officiator, waiting for the words I was waiting for.

“The couple has prepared vows. They may read them now.”

I looked at Scott, opening my mouth. “Scott, you've been with me through so much, through my dark patches and the light. You've seen me at my absolute worst and my best. We've been together for so long, it feels as if we're already married. Obviously we're not, otherwise we wouldn't be here today.” Laughter rippled through the small audience. “I can't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else, and I look forward to spending it with you.” Tears had gathered in the corners of his eyes, and my own vision had become blurred.

“Dylin, since my first day at the pizzeria, I've known that you were the one for me. Sounds almost stalkerish, I know, but it's true. And here we are, thirteen years later, getting married. So I guess I was right, all those years ago. We've had our ups and downs, and we're still sticking by each other's sides.” He breaks off to giggle momentarily. “After Dan met you, they'd told me to marry you.” Dan chuckled from behind Scott, hand moving to cover their face. “I couldn't imagine living these past years without you, and can't wait to live out the future ones with you.” I smiled, the tears sliding down my cheeks as the officiator spoke.

“Do you, Dylin Baker, take Scott Dun to be your lawfully wedded husband, for better or worse, in sickness and health, for richer or poorer?” I nodded, squeaking out the famous line as I slid the ring onto his finger.

“I do.”

“And do you, Scott Dun, take Dylin Baker to be your lawfully wedded husband, for better or worse, in sickness and health, for richer or poorer?” He smiled at me, slipping the ring in his hand onto my finger.

“I do.”

“Then by the power vested in me, I pronounce you groom and groom. You may now kiss.” I smiled, pulling Scott close and kissing him passionately.

When we pulled apart, he smiled at me.

“I've been waiting for a long time to be able to do that.”

“Me, too.” Grasping his hand, I ran out of the building, tugging him along behind me.

As we entered the car waiting outside, I pulled him close.

“It feels great to be able to call you my husband.” It felt so right for that word to roll off my tongue. He smiled, pecking me on the lips.

“I love you, Dyl.”

“I love you too, Butterscotch.”
