Epilogue

1 year later
After graduating and getting her degree successfully, Ragini had joined the financial marketing team of a famous branded cosmetic franchise that had not only gone famous nationwide, but also internationally amongst many countries.

Sat at her desk, joined and connected with her colleagues, she closed the file she was reading and turned her computer off, she glanced at the time on her watch and stood up from her chair. "Good work everyone, I'm off."

"Okay." They reply to her with a smile and she grabbed her bag and coat, passing them a smile before rushing out.

"I'm late." She whispered to herself, standing in front of the elevator, "he must be waiting." The elevator door opened and she entered, along with other staff that were headed down.

"Did you hear about Lucky?" One of the female whispered to her friend which had caught Ragini's attention.

"Who, that YouTube singer?"

"Yes, he is so good. I watched his video last night after the hype he got. I didn't expect him to be this good, his voice is soothing."

A small smile curled over Ragini's lips as she heard the compliment, recalling a memory.

"Lakshya." He turned around, seeing Ragini walk towards him. "Why did you call me?"

"I missed you." He replied and Ragini took a seat on the chair opposite him.

She passed him a look and he smiled at her, "now that you're here. . ." He trialled off and she waited for him to continue, "I have a surprise for you."

"What?"

"Wait. . ." He took a paper out of his pocket, opening it while she creased her forehead.

"Ragini, I think I'm falling in love with you. . . It seems crazy that the time I spend with you become the best memory I can ever hold onto. I know you'll find it cheesy, but I wanted to let you know that you make me more than happy. This feeling lasted for more than four months, which means I am in love with you. . . And I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He closed the paper, staring up at her.

She flapped her eyes at him and then chuckled, "Lakshya. . . That was cheesy!"

He smiled at her and soon one of the cafe worker brought a cake, placing it on the table.

"Happy Birthday!" He wished and she smiled, "you knew?"

"Of course." He uttered and nodded at the worker. "I also have a song, that I want to sing for you. . ."

Her smile lit up and she stared at him, ready to hear his song. The worker handed him a guitar and he nervously stroked it, consoling himself. He knew he had to sing for Ragini and was willing to.

He swallowed, and started singing Humdard. She smiled hearing him sing, while few people in the cafe took their phones out, starting to record.

The elevator door opened and Ragini walked out with a smile across her face. That day, those videos had gone viral which had encouraged Lakshya to open a YouTube channel to start his journey so he could get scouted by music agencies. YouTube was a better option rather than hunting from one agency to another, as more people are likely to give him views that would encourage the agencies to sign him, so they can make profit.

She exited the building, glancing around and finding a familiar figure standing at a distance with a hoodie and mask on. Her smile widens and she rushed towards him, he faced her and smiled through his mask, waving at her. She hugged him and rested her head on his chest.

"Guess what." He hugged her back and asked "what?"

"You're more viral, nearly everyone in my office know you."

"And do they know we're dating?" He asked and she broke the hug, "no, but you better come out with an announcement saying you're already engaged, otherwise I might get hated and trolled on by your female fans."

He chuckled, "ahh, how can I miss that. . ."

She nudged him and glared at him, "the day that happens I'll be breaking the engagement." She sternly uttered and he held her hand, looking at the ring on her ring finger. "I'll never let you take that off. . . You belong to me." He pulled her closer and their chests collided. Her heart skipped a beat and she stared into his eyes.

He didn't propose, in fact they had gotten engaged which was surprisingly arranged by their families. As soon as their families put the alliance forth, they both agreed which had made their families happy, but their families could already see that they had gotten closer even before they arranged the alliance.

He took her had closer to his face, taking his mask off and giving it a kiss, she stared at him with love and then smiled.

"We're getting late, Palak and Nikhil will kill us." She muttered and started rushing while holding his hand.

Nikhil and Palak were in the kitchen, bringing the cake out. "Where are Ragini and Lakshya?" Nikhil wondered as he stared at his watch, looking at the time.

Palak walked towards the table and placed the cake, glancing around with a small smile over her lips. Annapurna, Sujata, Durga Prasad, Parineeta, Ananya, Ram Prasad, Adarsh, Uttara, Sanskaar, Parvati, Swara, Nikhil's mother and Uday were all present there, ready to celebrate their sons birthday. She felt overwhelmed but also happy, despite her own family not being a part of her happiness, she had received a lot of blessings from the people around her that encouraged her to live her life without any regrets and guilt.

She glanced at her son, who was sleeping on Nikhil's mother's lap. 'We are just missing two. . . Where are they?' She wondered and sighed.

Outside the apartment, Ragini and Lakshya head inside and walk towards the elevators. Lakshya stared at Ragini and suddenly remembered something.

"Ragini. . ."

"Hmmm."

"Do you remember once you were singing, and you said your Daadima gave you a oath to not sing. Why did she?"

Ragini gave it a thought and she faced him, "she didn't want me to sing because I have a nice voice."

"But why? You could've been an amazing singer?"

Ragini shrugged "she has a bad image. Some singers get exploited and my Daadima always said that if you have a voice that will attract people, you are most likely to attract men with bad intentions, maybe she didn't want me to go through the struggle."

"Maybe. . ."

The elevator door opened and the two walked in, Lakshya took his mask off and Ragini looked at him.

"You're taking your mask off?" She asked as he took his hoodie off.

"Yes, who'll see me here and even if they do there's nothing they can do. This is one of the elite apartment, only famous and rich people reside here and I'm not as famous as them so yeah, it won't matter."

"Wow. . ." Ragini trailed off after hearing Lakshya. "Palak chose the right building to invest her money in. The security is also tight here, we were only allowed because we're regular otherwise they wouldn't have let us in."

"I know right, I'm also glad Aunty decided to stay with Palak and Nikhil here rather than being alone in that mansion."

"It's sad how Nikhil and Palak's fathers tried to kill them. Can parents really fall this low?"

Lakshya shook his head, "I thought my Dad was worse but seeing Nikhil and Palak's fathers, I'm so grateful that my Dad is at least caring."

"And I'm glad you've gotten closer to your family." He smiled at her and she smiled at him.

After reaching the floor, they exited the elevator and walked towards a door, soon knocking on it. Lakshya rang the bell multiple times and the door opened.

"You're here, finally!" Uday exclaimed and moved out of the way, letting the two enter.

Palak and Nikhil gave them a look while they nervously smiled at them.

"Sorry I'm late." Ragini apologised and placed her bag and coat on the side.

"Sorry I'm late." Lakshya apologised too, heading towards Nikhil.

Uday closed the door and headed towards them again.

"Okay, let's cut the cake now." Palak uttered and sat on the floor in front of the cake, Ragini stood near Lakshya, who stood near Uday.

Nikhil's mother handed the baby over to Palak, who held him and Nikhil took a seat next to her.

"I can't believe it's been a year since that little tornado was born." Uday expressed, smiling while staring at the baby.

"Happy Birthday to you. . ." Palak and Nikhil started off with the singing, soon everyone joined and clapped.

"Happy Birthday to you. . . Happy Birthday to Nish. . . Happy Birthday to youuuuuuu!" Everyone cheered and rooted him on while he flapped his tired eyes at everyone.

Sanskaar stared at Swara from a distance, and curled a small smile, she looked at him with a smile too.

Uday turned his head towards Ananya, who was sat staring at Nish with love and remembered her words. 'Should I give her a chance?' He wondered and sighed.

Ragini and Lakshya held hands while staring at Nish who was cutting the cake with the help of Palak and Nikhil.

Ananya glanced at her phone after receiving a message and looked on, she lifted her gazes and moved them towards Uday, who put his phone back inside his pocket.
