         Once there was a man known as Hawkmoth!  He was a supervillain.  He sent out akumas to attack people one by one!  He did this in the hopes that one day he would defeat the heroes Ladybug and Chat Noir!  He was after their miraculous as the story goes.

        Hawkmoth was so persistent in his pursuit of the special jewelry that he was known as Hawkmoth the horrible.  He was evil, he was mean, he was one alright no fun guy!  He took advantage of the sad, depressed, and angry.  He could sense these feelings in someone rather they were close by or far away!  He did not care who he hurt.  He did not care how many times he had to do this job!

         Hawkmoth never seemed to give up!  He knew what plans he had in mind for the use of the earrings and the ring.  He sought ultimate power!  He thought if he could get his hands on the miraculous for even just a few minutes that he could get a wish that he desired most!

        He longed to have his wife back!  It would mean,  so much to him to have her back with him once and for all.  He never thought about the consequences.  He was one selfish man.  He believed his happiness was more important than the happiness of anyone else around him.  He fought day after day against his enemies with his army of wicked minions.  Day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year he failed!  He failed big time!

         Hawkmoth never gave up hope.  He kept on with his akumas!  Until one day he got his wish, he won!  At last, he had his hands on both the ladybug earrings and the cat ring!  He was sure of it.  He touched them and this time they did not turn into grains of sand, salt or some other useless powder.  He was so thrilled, he put them both on!  He  said the words,  "I wish for the life of my wife, Emilie Agreste back, so we can be united and be a family again!"   No sooner, had he said the words, then there was a burst of light!  A huge one bigger than anyone had seen in years!   He looked up and there before him stood his lovely spouse, his Emilie!   He got his wish!  His life long wish, what could better than this?

       Emilie took a look a him.  She gasped.  She yelled and she cried.  "Gabriel, what is this you have done?  What did you do?"  Emilie screamed.

     It was then he knew something horrible had happened!  Only, at the time he had no idea what it was that could be, so horrible that even his wife was angry with him!   Not until Gabriel heard the sound of tears in a nearby bakery.  Now, as is own self for a change, he went to see what the noise was about.  He was not prepared for the sight before his eyes when he entered the bakery for there on the floor was the lifeless bodies of  Sabine Dupain-Cheng, and her daughter Marinette Dupain-Cheng.  His wish had cost not one, but two lives!

      Not only was this true, but Tom was shocked so much he could not say a word.  He just sat there with his wife's body in his arms.  He begged her to come back, but it was too late.  Next to him, sat Chat Noir who was now detransformed into his civilian form as Adrien Agreste.

      Adrien screamed he refused to stop since the girl he loved his whole life was dead.  His ladybug was gone forever, he knew she was Marinette.  He could not bring her back though.  He was heartbroken.  "M'lady, Marinette, please do not leave me!  I can not lose you!  I love you!  Please!"  Adrien screamed over and over again.  He only stopped when his throat got horse from all the screams.   He looked up when he saw his father it was then he knew what had happened.

      "Why you traitor, how dare you come in here?  You can not come near them.  Not now, not ever!  Leave!  I hate you!  I hate you, you hear me!   I loved Marinette and you took her from me!  This is all your fault!  You monster!  You hideous, monster!"  Adrien said

      "Adrien, I never meant for this to happen.  Your mother is here now, she is back!"  Gabriel says.

      Adrien did not hear him. He just gave him a look of hatred.  He could never forgive him for what he did.  How could he when his whole future was in ruins because of him!  His father was Hawkmoth the destroyer!  Now, he knew without certainty his father must pay for what he did to both Sabine and Marinette!  He must not be allowed to escape, not now!  Not ever!  He called the police.

      The police arrived and took Gabriel away to jail.  But the damage had already been done. The price had been paid with bloodshed all because of one stupid, selfish wish!

      As for Emilie, she tried to comfort Adrien the best she could, but he was never the same after this.  Her son refused to eat, he refused to drink, he refused to see a doctor or to go out anymore.  Soon enough he too died.  He became victim to Hawkmoth's damage beyond repair!  He died from a broken heart, but everyone else knows this was a result of the loss of his loved one.  Emilie cried as she buried her only child. She swore from that day on to make sure ultimate power was never achieved again. She gave the two miraculous along with the Hawkmoth one back to Master Fu, who kept them in a secured place from then on.  She also, kept the photos of Chat Noir and Ladybug side by side on display in the museum.  She figured it was the best thing to honor the fallen heroes, both lives who were snuffed out in the prime of life because of her husband.

     the end of  Hawkmoth the Horrible?  one-shot story  -Summer Cheng

    * Dear Readers,

     I apologize for how sad this story is ahead of time.  What more can I say then, but to say that not all stories have their happy endings.  Not all fairy tails end well, not all princes get their princesses in the end,  not all people with terminal illnesses survive, but most of all not everyone is loved.  So take your loved ones, hug them, kiss them, show them you care!  Tell them you love them every day, for you never know when it may the last time you see them alive!

   Sincerely, the author, Summer Cheng

    PS.  I was sad when I wrote this story as a dear loved one of mine was going through some horrible health issues at the time.  My cousin Lizzie had bone cancer when I first wrote this, but now I can say she is in remission to which I am grateful and she is eighteen years old.  She is healthy, and her hair has started to grow back.

      Currently, I have a moderate heart murmur and have to wait on some test results.
