Belated Happy New Year Everyone! Yeah I know. Really late. Been so busy and away from here has made me miss this place a bit. Not to mention how procrastination, life and lack of motivation has been in the way. Either way, to start off something for this year, might as well go with this personal reviews of mine.

Today, we're on to a known mobile game called Witch Weapon. Wherein crossdressing, witches, weapons, magic and science comes together. Cool right? Either way, just a quick warning that this is pretty much my first impression of the game, nevertheless it's on the recommendation list. Very well then, let's start!

Plot:

The plot foretells in a scientific town called Academy City (To anyone who thought of the To Aru Series. I believe you.) Wherein a 15 years old boy, Ren (Rather than calling him that, we get to name him differently) had a dream of experiencing hell that brought in the city to flames and ruin as humanity was turned into pinches of salt after a Goblet was stolen. Now not to spoil much, when he woke up, Ren have a surprise waiting for him. Apparently, he had turned into a girl. With not much knowledge of the situation, Ren heads to the same site he went from in his dreams. Only then later on, the interaction of magic exist as he is then pointed to save the world.

With that being said, the plot is interesting itself and gives off the usual anime vibes. Since the game is new, surely the story would continue to progress. Plus points since its like a VN, with not only CG's but animation that would pop out from time to time on the story.

Characters:

So far as I've played, there are three main characters namely; Ren, Annie and Mariru.

Ren is our main protagonist who was formerly a boy, much to his dismay being turned as a girl. Realistically enough, he was shown to be a typical normal boy who has to accept and adjust his changes and fate while in he or rather she was meant to save the world.

Annie is one of the Witches that accompanies Ren after finding her weapon, a bat, during her dream. Wherein she was summoned due to her magic engraved within said weapon. Annie is sort of a easy going person yet cares for Ren. She is also the person who would give the tutorial for the newcomers.

Last but not least Mariru. Mariru Von Braun. In Ren's dream, she was a scientist rather that Ren had encounter. Back in the real world, Mariru is a known leader of a group called SID. Bossy yet teasful. Mariru gives off a confident aura with sadistic tendencies. She does what she wants and shamelessly toys around others despite it having a commanding tone.

With that being said, since there are more upcoming characters, the variety of personalities is refreshing. The contrast portrays their individual strength and weakness.

Gameplay:

Witch Weapon is a hack and slash rpg. Simple and easy. Apparently the game has a gacha wherein we get Witches, whom lends you their weapon. So we get different animations and different skills that aids us in battle.

As for the grinding of materials seems to be easy more or less so none much to worry. You'll be needing them to give gifts for the Witches so their stats are raised when you used them. Aka Bonds.

Pros:

Its easy. Fun. Grindable. Gacha and RNG seems to be merciful enough. Plot is unique and refreshing plus we get to play Ren and see how she reacts when in her room fufu~ Like I said, I'd be recommending you to play the game if you want something simple and not much of a confusing mechanic.

Lastly... Opening is wicked cool.

Cons:

Its not much but personal basis. Probably its because I'm too busy and got bored on pressing the app to play it lol. But no I ain't here to contradict what I said of recommending the game. Just personally feels like the story is a bit slow to take as you have to go through multiple stages before acquiring them. Its probably just me and my bias of preferring story related games.
