Time never stops, just forges on
Despite the devastating loss of each moment
From dawn to dusk, time never ceases
Does not halt to preserve a life
Ticking away, just like every other day
Seconds and minutes and hours and days
Months passing by while I'm trapped in a daze
Stuck in a time warp, and everything around me
Is a ticking time bomb of pain and sadness
With each life there is eventual death
Just like clockwork, black and white
Life and death, opposites, yet linked
At dawn today you were a roaring flame
But as darkness fell, the spark was put out
Tell me now, why must time be so cruel?
Must it relentlessly continue despite words left unspoken?
Ticking, ticking, time and time again
Only for a flower to be put upon yet another grave
Over and over, never pausing, never ending
Never mourning the passing of its victims
For time is the ultimate enemy, and man alone chimes the hour
So we alone suffer from a paralyzing fear
The fear of time running out
Because that is all time ever does for us

(Yes I am aware that it doesn't rhyme)
