I HATE writers block, but sometimes it actually helps me get inspired...weird, right? For example, if I'm working on one of my books, and run into writers block, I go work on another book and make more progress on that one. In fact, writers block inspired me to start this story. Ranting.

The only problem is, I get writers block a lot sometimes, and when I do I start another new story. So I've started A LOT of stories! Even when I don't get writers block, I get inspired and get a fantastic idea for a new story!

Whenever you get writers block, do these things:

1. Start a new story. If you need to sit on the story you're currently writing, then sit on it! Sleep on it! Take a break from it and write something else in the mean time. Write about everything you look at and hear!

2. Read. Not only will you get ideas for plots and characters, but you'll get ideas of writing style. Meaning the way you describe things, the way you make your characters talk and the way you describe the action in your story will improve. Especially if what you're reading was written by a good, descriptive author. Like Shakespeare. I actually encourage you, to not READ Shakespeare, but WATCH one of his plays. Shakespeare really is one of the greatest writers, because of his characters, story plots, and the language! Just for exercise, I encourage you to pick a random, confusing line in Shakespeare and look up the meaning and you'll find it cool and clever.

3. As I said before, WATCH stuff. Watch good movies with good lines, characters, and awesome moments! Look up scenes from movies where a character gives a inspirational speech of some sort.

4. Look at pictures. Especially of nature, but also of cool places, buildings, cities, towns, shops, amusement parks, zoos, and stuff like that! Literally everything! Write a story about what you see or just simply stare at it and think about it. I honestly got so bored and blocked by the writers curse that I looked up facts about how healthy Mayo, Ketchup, Mustard, Ranch and BBQ sauce are! Sounds boring, but I actually was entertained in learning that Ranch makes healthy salads VERY unhealthy and Mustard is the one of the only condiments that is not unhealthy at all!

5. Ask people to tell you amazing stories. Fictional or Non-fictional. Or maybe not amazing stories, but just unique stories. Something funny, silly, mysterious or normal. Maybe the story of someone's every day life may fascinate and inspire you! I know when my mother told me about her father's World War II experience, I was inspired!

So all in all Watch, Read, Write, Look and Listen!

I didn't mean to turn this rant into advice, but I was still actually ranting. At least I felt like I was ranting.
