One of the many things that tick me is the fact that people with brown eyes apparently can't have pretty eyes!

Here's why I'm ranting about this:

Today, I brought up the fact that my friend (let's call her Friend 1) has long eyelashes. She was like,"Everyone is always telling me I have pretty eyes!" Then my other friend (let's call her Friend 2) said something along the lines of,"I have long eyelashes, too." So I asked Friend 2 if my eyelashes were long and she straight out said,"No."

That's what bugs me. Several people have told me I have long eyelashes. A couple of people have actually told me without hesitation that my eyes are pretty. (Including my mom XD) My aunt and my mom both sometimes ask me if I'm wearing makeup because apparently, according to them, my eyelashes are long. And no, I wasn't wearing makeup. I don't wear makeup at all.

So I wonder if Friend 2 really thinks that my eyelashes aren't that long or if she thinks that my eyes can't be pretty since my eyes are brown.

Anyway, now that I've explained that whole scenario to you. Here's the real rant:

WHY CAN'T BROWN EYES EVER BE CONSIDERED PRETTY IN BOOKS AND MOVIES AND EVEN IN REAL LIFE?!?!

In so many books and movies, the character with the beautiful and pretty eyes always have blue, green, hazel, or gray eyes. ALMOST NO BOOK CHARACTERS WITH BROWN EYES ARE CONSIDERED TO HAVE PRETTY EYES, EVEN IF THEY REALLY DO!!!

And yes! I'll admit that I'm guilty of doing this to! But it's really starting to get to me now! It's almost like since brown is basically the most common eye color, us people with brown eyes can never ever have pretty eyes because our eyes are apparently "plain" and "boring". Which means that unless your eyes are a really bright or light shade of brown, then there's almost no chance people telling you that you have pretty eyes.

But what about us people whose brown eyes are a darker shade? Why can't we have pretty eyes too? Why do we have to pile on a bunch of makeup to have pretty eyes? Why can't people just ignore the fact that brown is a common eye color and really look for the beauty in someone's eyes?

WHY?!?! WHY?!?! WHYYYYYY?!?!

*breathes heavily*

*whispers*

Why?

BECAUSE IN REALITY, BROWN EYES CAN BE JUST AS PRETTY AS ANY COBALT BLUE EYES OR ELECTRIC GREEN EYES!!!
