Okay. First things first. I AM NOT TRYING TO OFFEND ANYONE WHATSOEVER! I AM MERELY STATING MY OPINION! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RETALIATE WITH A RUDE COMMENT OR MESSAGE OR ANYTHING, SO PLEASE USE YOUR COMMON SENSE AND REALIZE THIS RANT WASN'T INTENDED TO BE OFFENSIVE!

Anyway, let's start this rant. This is a Typical & Cliché Teen Fiction Novels rant. In this rant you'll find several typical things that pop up at some point in many teen fiction novels. There will be more than one of this kind of rant. Hence the "#1" part in the title of this rant. Now here we go.

1. Appearance

Ex: I got up and took a quick shower. After my shower, I dried myself off and brushed my teeth and my hair. Then, I went to my closet and contemplated what I should wear to hang out with my best friend Bianca. It took me a couple of minutes, but in the end, I decided on a strapless floral dress that fell just above my knees and a pair of cute flats.

I curled my dark hair into little ringlets and then pulled it back into an elegant, messy bun. I applied mascara and eyeliner, but only enough to accentuate my beautiful blue eyes. I slathered on some light pink lip gloss and put on my favorite dangly hoop earrings.

I grabbed my purse and headed out. My flats were really irritating, but I endured the discomfort as I drove to Bianca's. Finally, I pulled up to her house. I got out of my car and walked up to her front door. Before I could even knock, the door flew open, revealing my best friend.

Bianca's golden hair was intricately braided, complete with a pink flower hair clip. She wore a pair of jean shorts, with ripped leggings underneath them. Her black graphic tee completed the amazing look with a casual touch.

Um, who in the poop wears all of that when all you're doing is going to hang out with your bestie?!?! NO ONE!!!

2. Cliché romances

There's not really an example for this one, so let's just go with a list.

•Nerd/Jock romance

•Nerd/Bad boy romance

•Nerd/Popular boy romance

•Nerd/Mysterious boy romance

Don't get me wrong. I'm guilty for reading and enjoying this cliché romances. I'm even guilty of writing them. I'm just saying it's cliché and most likely won't happen in real life. Sadly....

3. Girl meets boy

Ex: He slammed me against the locker. My eyes widened at our close proximity. I could feel his warm breath fanning my face. I could feel those blue eyes of his burning into mine. And if I glanced down, I would see that those soft-looking, kissable lips were only mere inches away.

I mentally slapped myself. This boy was arrogant and immature. I so did not need to fawn over him. What I needed was to give him a little taste of humility. So I lifted up my knee and felt it connect with the place where the sun don't shine.

He groaned and let go of me. He was clutching his man jewels and cursing under his breath as I scurried away to my class. Then he spoke, causing me to freeze.

"You'll pay for that!" He yelled.

I kept up my nonchalant act as I flipped him off and said,"Whatever."

Just saying, but if a boy pinned me against the lockers like that, I would NOT be focusing on his looks and thinking about kissing him. I would've punched that dude in the face. Plus, this scenario is a little overused, don't you think?

4. Male names

Ex:

•Cole

•Ryder/Rider

•Jay

•Parker

•Adam

•Jackson

Must these names seriously be used ALL THE FLIPPING TIME?! Now, don't get me wrong. I like these names, but it would be more refreshing if you used different names.

5. Eyes

Ex: His cobalt blue eyes stared down at me. As I stared into those eyes, I felt as if I was falling into them and swimming in their depths. They captivated me. I was mesmerized by the stunning beauty of those amazing eyes.

Ummm, if you read my rant Pretty Eyes, then you would know why this bothers me. EYES DO NOT HAVE TO BE A DAZZLING SHADE OF GREEN  OR BLUE TO BE PRETTY!!!
