After a week

OM

Pinky was seated in the living room selecting some jewellery for annika while annika and shivaay were engrossed in their respective office works.

P- annika ,come here .

She went and sat beside pinky ,who started trying each neck pieces keeping it around her neck.

P- ye kaisi hai ?

A- ek minute ,oi shivaay ...(she called for him who was busy with his laptop)

S- hmm?

A- how's this?

S- hmm(without looking at her)

A- hey idiot (she threw a box kept beside which straightly hit his hands bringing his attention)

S- what do you want annika ?(he asked being irritated)

P- why are you shouting at her shivaay ?bechari tujse bas poochrahi hai ki vo necklace kaise hai .Aur tum(to annika)if you like this ,we will buy it .Why are you asking him ?(she stressed )

A- aise nahi aunty ,if he likes it only I will take this .Bachpan se aise hi haina ham .Everything of mine would be his selection .

Shivaay who was listening to this, immediately got up and went near her, holding the necklace he clutched it around her neck carefully .While doing this he murmured " Then why didn't you ask me while deciding about your marriage?"Fixing it properly, he moved infront and looked at her .

S- This seems to be perfect for you ,par kya tumhe ye pasand hai ?(he asked in a serious tone looking into her eyes )

At once she could make out that,he wasn't talking about the necklace .

S- you look beautiful!(he expressed )

Saying this he turned moved to his room leaving back a worried annika .

A- aunty ,mein abhi aathi hoon .

She slowly stood up and made small steps towards his room .She hasn't totally recovered from the accident. It's just been a day since she had resumed walking .She stood at the doorway watching him stand back facing her .

S- are you going to ask permission for this even ?come in .(he ordered)

A- hello ,why should I ask permission ?

S- that's what I said (he stated )

A- so you are expecting me to ask permission ...wait ,wait... you have an idea of dominating me right? ...and (interrupted)

S- what did I even say? Matlab kuch bhi!How would anyone be able to handle you ,kya bolun mein...tumhe muje alava koi aur jail bhi nahi saktha (he shook his head being fed up)

Realizing his own words which he had just uttered, he looked at her who was already waving her eyes on him awkwardly.

S- ek minute ,why are you standing now ? Sit down.(making her sit on the bed and he knelt before her)Bathao kya baath hai ?

A- nothing ,I just felt ki tum parishaan thei so ...

S- soo ??

Silently ,she blinked with a smile and hugged him being seated still .He who was surprised first, couldn't help but just inversely wrap his around her and contribut equally to the hug as if he was somewhere in need of it .Annika knowing that something was troubling him ,gently ran her fingers through his hair and tried soothing him.

A- ab kaise feel kar rahe ho?(she asked being in the same position )

S- sleepy ....(saying this he sheepishly smiled)

Pulling out from the hug with a grumpy face she hit his shoulder slightly saying ,

A- kabhi mat sudrogi na tum ?I'm asking you seriously ,and you are ...

S- hey paanika ,kya kartha mein?Hasee aathi hai muje jab tum serious hothi ho (he said with a wide smile )

A- hmm, keep doing this .Hamesha meri mazaak udathi raho,and when I get married and leave ...then you will know my value (saying this she left the room )

Soon her words hit him again ,he faced the brutal truth again .Pain reached his eyes ,and sadness occupied his face again. Watching her move out from his room he murmured.

S- nahi reh paaunga tere bina ,

Evening

In pinky's room

P-Yami...(with yamini's picture in her hands) today is annika's engagement. Teri beti...nahi ,hamari beti annika ki engagement hai.Do you know how happy I am? I feel contended in choosing the best life for her ,I'm happy that I'm standing up to the promise  which I had made to you .Dev bahut acha ladka hai .Annika uske saath kush rahegi...(with tears )I wish you were with us...Yami...

This whole scene was witnessed by annika who stood near the doorway .Soon she ran inside and hugged pinky from back tightly letting out her tears .

A- I love you aunty ....love you so much!

Pinky turned around ,placing a kiss on annika's forehead she spoke .

P- love you too beta...

All the preparations for the function were going on ,and Dev's family has already arrived. Pinky was talking with them while Dev walked up to shivaay to greet him .

D- hi shivaay ,

S- hi (he replied bluntly )

D- where's your friend annika?I heard you both never stay apart ,where is she ?

S- glad you know that atleast (he murmured)

D- did you say something?

S- nothing.

D- vaise ,I wanted to ask you something. Shall I?

Shivaay nodded .

D- It's been just few days since I had met annika but I already started feeling for her like ,I want to love her ...marry her ...lead a beautiful life with her (he expressed)And you've been with her since years !!didn't you feel the same anytime ?

The moment these words reached shivaay's ears he froze. He could clearly feel how much the question was affecting him.Why was it that their relation had never pointed towards this tangent?Being friends from a very small age they didn't ever get a chance to explore this side of their life .Till they knew there is going to be a third person between them to divide the rights they have for the other ,there wasn't any need to think about the next step of their relationship. Maybe that's why they never thought of love because according to them ,the very starting point of their life was friendship. But poor both , didn't knew ,that their friendship had turned into love long before .

D- shivaay ?(shaking him )

S- haa ...

By the time pinky came there ,

P- shivaay, go and bring annika with you .

S- me ?

P- what ?Tera friend haina ,jao...

S- fine .

After sometime .

Shivaay accompanied annika down the stairs descending hand in hand with her .

Shivika's look.

As soon as they reached down ,Dev moved near them and lend out his hand towards annika .Watching which ,shivika immediately looked at each other simultaneously prevailing the eyelock. That instant actually depicted the reality of their life ,both could feel the moment thoroughly .Time has come ,for them to loosen the knot of their relationship which haunted them like hell.They both felt like the horrendous nightmare of their's to be actually coming true. Shivaay was pleasing her to not leave him through his eyes but her heart had already become too blunt to read it.Reflexly she loosened her grip from his hand bringing a stabbing pain in his heart .Turning the other side she slowly took her hand near Dev's and she could already find him holding her now.

Then ,Dev and annika walked hand in hand towards the small stage leaving back a shivaay who was messed up with lump of emotions .He felt a terrible anger growing in him for Dev which didn't seem pleasant .

S- ye kya ho raha hai muje ???I can't handle this... no...(he spoke to himself )

Within the next few seconds his blood boiled watching Dev chatting with annika "still holding her hands" point to be noted !

D- aap bahut pretty hai !!

A- thank you

D- and am I looking good today ?(he asked eagerly )

Before annika could answer.

S- vo kya haina ,she doesn't like this colour of your suit actually (came shivaay's voice who made his way to the stage and stood beside annika)

D- ohh (he had a disappointed face )

A- hey shivaay ,what was that?(she whispered audible only to him)

Shivaay just looked away .

A- Dev ,aisa kuch nahi hai.He was just joking. You look great too !

For which Dev gave a smile and shivaay just rolled his eyes .

After sometime

Dev and Annika exchanged their rings,

A- aunty ,where is shivaay ?

P- pata nahi beta ,he will be here around somewhere don't worry .

But annika couldn't stop worrying because it's been half an hour since he was missing .She was searching for him around the house and suddenly she heard an arguing sound in a room .She went near the room , peeping through the window ... she was shocked to witness Pinky and Dev's Mom arguing on shivika's relationship .Dev's mom didn't seem to like their friendship. She also claimed that few of her guests also questioned her about shivaay being so close to annika who was ahead of becoming her daughter in law.Her accusations was interrupted by Dev who just entered the room (he didn't notice annika there )He said that he completely trusts annika and he totally understands her friendship with shivaay .He also apologised to pinky for his mother's behaviour.

P- arey Dev ,why are you apologising beta?I'm just glad that atleast you understood the truth .Mere dono bachon pe muje poora bharosa hai ,they won't do anything which would put me down .(she said looking at Dev's mom)You don't have to doubt on that.

On the other side

Shivaay was sitting on the terrace ,reminiscing the moment he ran out from the hall when annika was about to get engaged . The moment felt as though he was standing on fire which's heat was unbearable for him .So he immediately left the place and reached the terrace to be alone .Yes ,now there's no one with whom he could share his feelings .

S- why ? Why ?why ?(he screamed and hit the wall with full force which actually led to bleeding from his knuckles )why all this is happening with me ? I cannot see my annika with someone else why???(his voice transparented his inner vulnerability and his fear of loosing her)

"Because you're in love "came a voice ,listening to which he turned around to look at the person .And to his shock it was Mrinali who stood in front of him.(Annika had personally invited Mrinali for the function and Mrinali had apologised to annika for her behaviour the other day )

S- What are you saying ?(crooking his eyes)

M- pyaar hai shivaay ,annika tera sirf friend nahi hai...tera mohabbat hai vo.That's why you are feeling like this ,that's why you get hurt when she's with someone .

S- I don't understand,

M- that's the problem actually ,you never try to understand anything .Tere feelings se poocho ki aisa kyun ho raha hai ,tere dil se poocho ...uska javaab "annika" hoga .You never got the chance to realize this because you have wrapped all this claiming to be her best friend .You are her best friend even now ,but you are her true love too.It isn't late now even,just try to realize what you feel for her shivaay .I'll be happy if you both end up together .

S- pyaar?(he said with an excitedly questioning smile on his face )

S- annika ...just tell me one thing .Itne saalon se jaanthi ho na muje... kya ek second bhi ,tumhare dil mei mere liye pyaar nahi aaya ?(he asked holding her shoulders tightly)

Annika stood still ,with her pouring eyes fixed with his's .
