Ozen awoke with a headache and dry mouth. He was tucked into his bed, the soft fur blankets surrounding him making him not want to get out of bed. The cool breeze from his open balcony door didn't help. He loved the cool sensation of the night air and the warmth he felt in his massive bed. He always struggled to get out of it. Some days he wished he could lay here all day and never move. Let someone else take charge for a little bit.

It did, however, feel lonely without Dorian. Ozen sighed, turning onto his stomach, tucking his arm under the pillow, and smothering his face into the pillow. He lay there with his eyes closed, wanting to find sleep again. His mind wandered, thinking about what happened in the Plains earlier. After seeing his sister turn into a foul creature, he blacked out. He didn't know how he got here or what had happened to Lilly. In the end, it just made him want to stay in bed more. It frustrated him knowing that he got nowhere on his personal quest. The dreadful thought made him snuggle tighter into his animal fur.

It was hard for Ozen to grasp reality. He only got to be with his family for a week, maybe less than that, and now they were gone. His little sister had twisted into a dark creature before his eyes, which made him nearly kill Solas. Because of Ozen's actions, Dorian could have ended up possessed and dead, just like Lilly. Ozen felt horrible for even suggesting something dark like necromancy. Solas was right, it was too dangerous considering the activity they were witnessing with the rifts.

Ozen heard the soft creaking of his door being opened and then closed. The soft footsteps of someone coming up the stairs echoed into the big, almost empty bedroom. Part of him wished it was Dorian but he knew better. Instead, it was Solas.

"You are awake."

"I am. Does somebody need me? I really don't want to get out of bed." Ozen chuckled to himself. Solas shook his head, his hands clasped behind his back.

Solas looked down at his feet as if he had something to say. Mulling his words before he spoke to his friend. Solas wanted to tell him that what he had done was dangerous but considering the circumstances, he knew that Ozen was already beating himself up about it. It was how the Inquisitor was. He wanted to bash the Inquisitor for putting everyone's lives on the line but instead, he stood there in silence. Ozen knew what he did and he owned up to it. He just wished that his friends were not in harm's way.

"Dorian is very weak right now," Solas said, he didn't look at Ozen. Ozen sat up in bed a little too quickly, causing the room to spin. He groaned and put his head in his hands. The sudden chill in the air hit his naked torso causing him to shudder.

"He wants to see you. Varric is helping him as much as he can."

"Will he live?" Ozen asked. Ozen's heart couldn't handle the news that Dorian was going to die. He already lost his family, he could risk someone he cared about deeply. Even if he hated the fact that Dorian wasn't there to protect his family; he wouldn't wish the man dead. Ozen searched Solas' eyes for answers. When Solas smiled, a weight was off of his shoulders.

"Of course. Due to the spell, he was casting and how long he cast it, along with the demon breaching the spell, his body took a toll from it. Nothing rest won't fix."

"Good." Ozen sighed, "I am sorry, Solas. I know you said necromancy was... bad. I just..." Ozen trailed off. Solas nodded.

"I understand. You needed information about your family."

"Is she dead?" Ozen questioned. He brought his knee to his chest, his brown-bear blanket still covering the lower half of his body. He propped his elbow on his knee, trying not to look at Solas. The atmosphere around them spoke volumes to Ozen. After a few moments of silence, Solas had excused himself. The door closed again, this time with a gentle touch. Ozen couldn't stop the tears from falling down his face. He gripped his hand, and the dull ache of the anchor cursed through his veins.

"How am I going to find this Shemlen?" Ozen muttered to himself. He wanted to go home to his Keeper where things were simpler. He didn't have so many people to keep safe. He didn't have so much responsibility on his plate. He wished that this anchor hadn't attached to him. He never even got to say goodbye to those he loved. He was to complete his assignment and come home. He thought about the other Dalish elf that had to leave his home as well. The Hero of Ferelden had the same fate as himself. He knew that the Hero of Ferelden was out there somewhere. Hearing the stories about him through his clan always inspired Ozen, it wasn't much different now.

Knowing this little information, Ozen felt a little better. He laid back down on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. He covered himself up, closing his eyes, trying to think of something better than the current situation. He whispered to himself the story of the Hero of Ferelden, told amongst many clans of the Dalish. He was a hero to their people and an inspiration to many.

He wished he could talk to him.

Ozen found himself growing tired again. It wasn't long until his words became slurred, slowed, and soon silent. Ozen dreamed many dreams and several nightmares, making this night the worst night he had since moving to Skyhold.

While Ozen tossed and screamed in his sleep, Dorian was in the war room with Cassandra, Leliana, and Cullen. He had to let others know about what he had seen in his mind while he was under the spell of the fear demon. He wanted to tell Ozen but after what Solas had said, Dorian thought it would be better if Ozen was left alone. He was already in hot water with him, he didn't want to be blamed again for the death of Ozen's sister.

"A human named Lucifer?" Cullen asked half amused.

"Sounds too good to be true, I know." Dorian coughed into his arm, leaning against the wall of the room. They insisted he sat down but Dorian was stubborn. He was going to prove to himself that he was better after only having four hours of sleep, "I saw it in the... vision I had."

Dorian wasn't too sure what to call it. He wasn't sure if it was a vision but it seemed like it. Either that or it could have been all in his head. The fear demon had claimed that her master was a human being capable of magic from the gods. It sounded far-fetched and also creepy, but worse things had happened since Dorian joined the Inquisition, one being time travel.

"We need to let the Inquisitor know immediately." Josephine commented, "They are after his people."

"But why the Dalish?" Dorian asked himself, "Surely it couldn't just be for race."

"Maybe he is attacking the Inquisitor personally." Cassandra frowned, "In that case-"

"I'll get my men to guard his door. Dorian, you need to-"

"I don't know if he will trust me. Not after what happened at the Pass."

Admitting that to them felt like a knife to his stomach. Cassandra was the one who came up to Dorian and put a hand on his shoulder.

"I wouldn't worry too much about him. He needs you,"

"And what if I get him killed?" Dorian shrugged Cassandra's hand off of his shoulder, "May I remind you people that I was the one that was supposed to protect his little sister." Dorian pointed at himself, his chest tightening as the emotions began to break away. He didn't want to look weak in front of his friends but he hadn't had a proper time to collect himself, let alone sleep.

"My men will be right outside the door." Cullen tried to give Dorian at least some comfort in that.

"If you want, Maybe Solas can put a spell over the balcony doors," Cassandra said.

Dorian thought about it, agreeing with them both. He just prayed that he would be able to be in the same room with Ozen long enough and not end up dead. After the meeting, Dorian made his way to Ozen's room. Solas was inside the bedroom in front of the balcony doors, muttering a spell over them. Ozen had stepped out of the changing room, buttoning the last button on his shirt.

"Ozen." Dorian felt weak seeing him. His knees started to shake, an overwhelming emotion struck him. If it wasn't for Solas, Dorian would have fallen to his knees and begged for forgiveness.

"I assume this was your idea?" Ozen questioned. His deep voice sent shivers through Dorian. Dorian shrugged a little.

"All of us really."

"Why?" Ozen asked. He was standing on the other side of the bed away from Dorian. Dorian sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. He knew he had messed up. He knew that what happened to his little sister was something he could have avoided. If he had only put a protection spell over her, none of this would have happened. Once Solas was finished, he gave a small smile to Ozen and Dorian. Once Solas exited the Inquisitor's chambers, Dorian let out a long sigh.

"I want to protect you. I-I feel bad for what happened, Amatus."

That word again. The way Dorian spoke that word caused shivers through Ozen. Ozen looked away for a moment. He knew he couldn't stay pissed off at Dorian forever. Ozen ran his fingers through his hair, shaking his head slightly.

"What are we going to do, Dorian? I can't stay locked up here forever."

"That's why I am here. Something happened when I was casting that spell." Dorian sighed. He started to pace in the room. Ozen sat on the edge of his bed watching Dorian pace. Solas was right, he did look different. His skin color was a bit paler. Ozen never thought something like that could happen. Ozen frowned.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Ozen questioned.

"I'm fine." Dorian said rather quickly, "What is not fine is the voice in my head. The demon. It told me the plan. There is a human who is powerful enough to be considered a god. Either he has a thing for Dalish elves, or he is targeting you."

Ozen ran his fingers through his hair. He gripped the roots of his dark brown hair out of frustration. His people hated humans and for good reason. He thought he could love humans and looked past what happened in the past but the burning desire to kill was coming back. He growled, standing up again. Now Ozen was eager to leave this place more than ever. Dorian can sense his frustration. All he could do was stand there, reluctantly. He wanted to share his witty charm with Ozen but he knew he was just going to be snapped at. If Dorian didn't know any better, the twitch in his hand was indicating his murderous tendencies. Ozen had mentioned the anger that ran through his clan and how much his clan hated humans. Dorian was hoping to win them over. He thought he had when Ozen had asked to watch his sister. Turned out that Ozen had never mentioned to his mother and father that a human was going to watch Lilly.

"Why does this have to happen?!" Ozenhollered, "Why did my family have to be mixed into this!? I shouldn't have asked for this! I shouldn't have brought the Dalish into it!"

"Ozen-"

"You are lucky to still be alive, Dorian," Ozen growled at him.

Dorian was taken aback by this statement. Dorian wasn't too sure what he meant by it. He could be lucky that Ozen hadn't killed him or he was lucky to not have been possessed by a demon. Dorian stood there staring at Ozen, attempting to read his eyes. Dorian noticed that the red in his eyes had grown richer.

"Want to explain yourself?" Dorian snapped in an unpleasant tone. Dorian was mentally preparing himself for the break-up that he didn't want. Ozen walked over to Dorian, stopping when he was just inches from Dorian's body. Ozen didn't want to be mad at him anymore. Ozenshoved the anger from his ancestors down to the pit of his stomach, trying his best to ignore it. Ozen shouldn't shun Dorian because he was human. He shouldn't be angry over something Dorian didn't have control over. If anything, the blame should be on Ozen for leaving Dorian alone to watch something so precious to him like this family. Ozen reached down and grabbed Dorian's hand. It was rough at first, Dorian froze feeling Ozen's grip on his hand. Dorian swallowed hard. Ozen noticed the fear in Dorian's eyes and frowned. Ozen squeezed Dorian's hand, not wanting to be upset with him anymore. Ozen closed his eyes, trying his hardest to swallow down this bitter anger. He wanted to look past the mistakes. He wanted to feel something for Dorian again besides blinding rage. Ozen feared losing Dorian. He just lost his family and now there was a pressing feeling in the back of his mind that he was going to lose Dorian. Ozen gave a quick tug of Dorian's hand causing Dorian to reluctantly shuffle forward.

"I don't know what the hell I'd do if you were gone... Amatus," Ozen whispered. Dorian's stomach flipped hearing that word escape the elf's lips. It sounded sweet and charming coming from Ozen. His voice seemed to vibrate in his chest when he whispered the word to Dorian. Dorian grinned, happy to hear those words come from Ozen's lips. Ozen brought Dorian's hand to his lips, giving a gentle kiss to his knuckles. Dorian tried his best not to blush, Ozen wasn't one to show much affection but this was something Dorian wouldn't forget.

"I'm sorry for being so... cruel to you earlier today." Ozen frowned.

"You don't need to apologize for that." Dorian's eyebrows knitted together in concern, "your family died. It was an appropriate reaction to such a thing."

"I shouldn't have blamed you." Ozen shook his head, "You did what you could."

"I am just glad you're not as upset." Dorian smiled. Dorian brought his hand to Ozen's cheek. Dorian noticed the many scars on his face, the most recent one being last year. He remembered fighting demons and rogue templars when Ozen was attacked. There were several at once, making it difficult for anyone to get to Ozen. The Templar attacked Ozen's face. That was when Dorian was able to strike it down with a spell.

Dorian's thumb graced over the small scar on his chin.

"What are we going to do?" Dorian wondered.

"Find the Shemlen that did this to my family and kill him."

"We're not even going to question him?"

"I'll end up torturing him, Dorian."

Dorian knew that the Inquisitor had his moments with anger but Ozen showing this amount of affection was something Dorian hadn't seen much of since they confessed their feelings for each other. Ozen pulled away from Dorian, walked over to the balcony door, and stood there looking out. The purple hue blocked him from leaving his bedroom. Dorian stood there in silence, already missing his presence. Dorian understood the anger he had towards the man that killed his family.

"Don't blame humans for this asshole's mistake."

Ozen took Dorian's words to heart, letting them linger in the back of his mind as he watched the sun set behind the purple hue of protection spell that Solas put up.
