"Adrien does not love me, but I love him. It is hard to see him, with my ex-best friend like this, especially, since she took advantage of my feelings for him." Marinette says sadly.

Meanwhile, Adrien Agreste speaks to Plagg about something that bothers him.  

"Plagg, why is the criminal so pretty?"  Adrien asks.

"I have no idea, Adrien,"  Plagg says. He thinks I can not tell him I know who she is or he will be even more upset.

"Why did I even agree to date Alya anyway?" Adrien asks sadly.

 "Let me think, she likes you and you like her,"  Plagg remarks.

    "No, that is not it, Plagg," Adrien says and sighs.

Adrien's  Flashback to two years ago...

  " Adrien you know the kissing scene in the play?"  Alya asks.

    "Yes, what about it?" Adrien says.  He glances around the curtain to a certain blunette in the audience.

      Adrien wishes Marinette had gotten the role of the princess in the play.  He does not want to kiss Alya. He hates the fact he has never told Marinette about his feelings.  He would tell her right now, but the performance is about to start.   He supposes it can wait until later.

     "Well, you must kiss me.  I mean this play is so important to get all the facts right." Alya says.

      "I  do not know, I much rather just blow you a kiss," Adrien says.

      "Blow me kiss, come on now!  Do not be so lame, Adrien, you know we are a great couple."  Alya remarks.

    Adrien thinks a couple, what?  He knows he and Alya are not even together.  Now he wishes Marinette were here so he could set things straight once and for all.

      Marinette has slipped out of her seat, behind the curtain area where Adrien now speaks to Alya. She grins when she sees him. She thinks this is it Marinette you can tell him now. 

     "Adrien?"  Marinette calls out.

      Before Adrien can answer, Alya grabs him by the collar and yanks him closer to her. She presses her lips into his and he tries to push her away.

    What neither Adrien or Alya knows is that Marinette saw them, and thought Adrien wanted Alya to kiss him.  They also, do not know Marinette was hurt and ran off stage in tears. 

    At least, Alya did not notice she was too proud of herself to care about anyone else's feelings. 

    Adrien however, saw Marinette and the tears. He felt horrible, he had left early to find her, but failed. He came back to finish the play, and when he told Alya he needed to find Marinette she had threatened him.  

   Alya had said if Adrien told anyone, she would lie, and say he had gotten Marinette pregnant then left her.

 Adrien was furious and had made the mistake of saying he would do anything. He only meant to protect Marinette but had made things worse.

  Alya had grinned and said, "Do not worry Adrien, if you date me then your precious Marinette will be just fine."

  Adrien had regretfully agreed to date Alya if this what it meant to keep Marinette's reputation safe. He never stopped loving Marinette and his heart ached every moment he was apart from her.

   End of  Adrien's  Flashback...

"No, Plagg I do not like her.  My heart belongs to Marinette, as it did two years ago. I regret ever being with Alya, but how could I let her say those things about Marinette?" Adrien says.

    "Adrien, what are you talking about now?"  Plagg asks.

   "Alya tricked me Plagg, she said if I dated her Marinette would not be hurt. She said if I refused she would accuse me of sleeping with Marinette and making her pregnant with my baby. She also, said she would tell everyone about it and make sure they knew I left Marinette alone as a single mother,"  Adrien sobs.

   "Adrien, that is sad, and mean!  How could Alya do this to Marinette? " Plagg asks.

   "I tried to ask her this many times, but she would not answer. Now, I am stuck dating a woman I do not love while my heart longs for Marinette. I would give almost anything to fix this. Only, I can not. If I dump her, she will  drag Marinette's  name in the dirt."  Adrien says.

     Plagg thinks good thing Adrien does not the truth about Red Bad Bug's personality behind the mask, or he would probably kill Alya.  He can tell Adrien already feels regret and remorse for dating Alya instead of calling her parents on her or some other course of action.

      Adrien looks horrible as if he might even be sick. He does know how much longer he can live a lie like this. He is Alya's so-called  "perfect boyfriend,"  but he hates her. 

      
       Back to Alya, the back-stabbing friend, she thinks about the school play and sighs. She is glad it brought her and Adrien together. She knows they are the best love birds ever, why everyone knows it and says as much.  She does not even think about the fact that she hurt Marinette then and continues to do so now. She is a girl who everyone envies since she dates a cute boy and is best friends with Rena Rogue.  Deep down she knows she is Rena Rogue, but what the others do not know can hurt anyone right?   

       Alya thinks she has gotten by with the black-mail because she gets Adrien, while Marinette is left alone like the poor, pitiful excuse of an immature person she always has been.  She thinks in time Adrien will forget all about Marinette and fall in love with her.  She believes he destined to be with her why else did he agree to still do the play with her, despite his obvious disapproval of the kiss years ago.
